I wanted to share my concerns regarding my recent experience with Jimmy's shop. Unfortunately, communication has been very challenging, calls often go unanswered, and it's been difficult to get timely updates. Additionally, when I brought a family member's car in, we were charged the full amount with the assurance that the issue would gradually improve. However, the problem persists, and there has been no accountability for the initial promise or charge. For anyone considering your services, I strongly recommend getting everything in writing, as verbal commitments have not been honored in my experience. We have been bringing our cars to Jimmie at this locations for years. He is very knowledgeable and most importantly, HONEST!! It is almost impossible to find a mechanic that is honest and charges a fair price. An example: our "check engine" light came on, we took it to Jimmie to check it out. He hooked it up to his hand held electronic device, (not sure what it's called), and told us it was a loose gas cap. We replaced the cap and the problem was solved! Jimmy is honest and he and his team do solid work. His prices are great, his work is outstanding. Don't judge a book by it's cover, this place isn't fancy, they don't have loaners or shuttle service, but remember all these services would cause him to have to charge higher prices. Noticed a belt was shredding. Took my car into Cascade Auto, without notification, and he was able to identify the issue, replace, and provide an oil change same day. Nothing but love and respect for Jimmy! Since I have had my 2008 Nissan Altima in 2007, I have been to many places since my dealership closed. I was promised free lifetime oil changes only to find out the dealership went into some kind of bankruptcy (Burien Nissan). I had a friend recommend this place awhile back for all car maintenance including oil changes. I like having actual mechanics do oil changes vs. quick lube places. Last Friday, I called, they said come on in and it would take 15 minutes. I drove out there, intent on using this place for all maintenance like my friend did. I showed up and the guy walks up and says "I forgot to tell you we can only take cash today because we're technically closed so the computer is down because my boss is out and we're supposed to be closed." I was immediately frustrated because it was the 2nd place I called before I drove there that said they could do it and when I got there, had some issue. The first place I called failed to mention a 3 hour wait. I don't carry much cash. I told him I only had maybe $20 and he started to get frustrated with me! "Saying no it's $35 and I'm trying to help you out, why don't you have cash? I forgot to tell you but why don't you have cash?" over and over. I finally told him that I was leaving because I don't have cash and can't magically create it and that he lost a customer that was going to use them for all maintenance. I realized later that it was odd they were supposed to be closed but taking business on the side for cash. That seemed shady after I thought it through. Like if they had done a poor job (like forgot to put oil in), there would have been no record of it for me to get it fixed by them. Yeah, staying away. read more

I have check engine light that was on, I stopped by think Jimmy the owner or one of his tech could give me an estimate. Guess what Jimmy said he doesn't have a computer scanner and can't give me a ball park estimate I press him so he said " OK bring $2000 dollars when you bring in your car" nice smart ass respond. So guess what I won't be bringing any more or my families cars to this shop. A shop without a OBDII scanner really ??? So I've used Jimmy time and time again for the simple things like routine maintenance to installing starters, window switches, electrical issues. ....as long as you make an appointment, and sure there are emergencies, I've has some, having an appointment is the way to go. My mom starting going to him, then I went, my roommate now goes. His turn around time is super fast. His prices are fair. I cannot say enough about how much I love Jimmy and Cascade. Just to give you a clue, I live in Seattle and travel 30 mins (45 in traffic) to get to this garage. I have a BMW have tried several mechanics in King Co. Not only do they charge $40-60 more per labor hour, but things would always end up either still wrong or else new problems popped up. So, even though Jimmy does not have loaner cars, the cost savings greatly exceeds the rental cost. Second, I have never gone anywhere with such turn-around. Somehow he gets the parts and does the work in a heartbeat. And, my little 1999 has not had to go back in a year (just maintenance this year)--so work quality is stellar. They have a cult following, so get in fast. If you have any car, but especially German-builts--this is the place for you! read more

I took it to Jimmy and he said no that's not the case and he gave me the right diagnosis within minutes and saved me $$$$. I relied on the 5-star reviews and brought my Tacoma in for AC repair, summer 2011. Jimmy was such a nice guy, called me on the phone and told me the AC was only leaking Freon, or whatever to make air cool. He refilled it, pressure checked, tested..The bill was only 150, including the compartment air filter...I thought it was cheap... Alas, the AC worked only for a few weeks in summer 2011, by the end of summer, no cool air came on. I called and Jimmy promised me to take a look, when he got Freon again...several calls and still no freon. No problem, I need no AC in winter months... Fast forward to summer 2012 , I brought my Tacoma back. Jimmy again called and said he found the loose nut, just need to be tightened, refill, and off it goes. 100 bucks with promise anything wrong, just bring it back... Well, this time the AC worked for total about 10 hours driving in summer 2012. Then gradually, no cool air again. I called and explained, and Jimmy said " sorry it must be in the electronic control, I could not repair it" "really? you can not fix the AC?" I asked . "I am sorry" That's all. Jimmy a nice guy to the end, but a waste of time and money for me. If he can not fix an AC, he can not fix complicated problem. I am going to bring my Tacoma to the dealer, come summer 2013. read more

First of all i would like to Thank Jimmy He is a Awesome Mechanic but he is an even Better Guy. He has worked on my little Red Acura a Few times and he is always at least 40% Cheaper then the lowest price I was quoted when my Clutch went out he found me a tow tuck South king towing (also Awesome) and replaced my Clutch in 3 days even opened on Sunday ( which is a day is not normally open ) to finish it so i could get to work. Jimmy was awesome I took my car to auto tune they said 2 of 6 of my ignition coils were out but I needed to replace all them for 800.00 I called around to 3 different mechs.and they said I can replace only the 2 so I took to jimmy and had my car back on the road with in 3hrs now we are talking my sons car today. You will not find a more honest shop then here. Jimmy has been our family mechanic for MANY years, my father has a 92 Corolla with excess of 250K miles on it and the reason it keeps going is because we have Jimmy & Cascade Auto as our go to shop. The work is always solid every time and the prices are the best I have ever paid, very affordable. Jimmy knows me and my father by name and always greats us in a very nice and personable way, it's hard to find honest work these days and this place does just that. I have brought in my 91 Suburban many times ranging from basic preventative work to major repairs, Jimmy is always VERY prompt in both his work and calling me to let me know what kind of work my truck will need, it too is in excess of 250k miles now and I never worry one bit about it. No high pressure sales tactics whatsoever, just lays out the problem, price and options on the table. I refer everyone I know to Cascade Auto Repair.
