Service was fast and friendly, and my mechanic was upfront about the issues I needed fixed. I came in for one service, but he identified it to be something different, but he still helped me out for the same cost. Very nice. read more

Peter Tran was very transparent and clear with diagnosing an issue I had with my Acura TSX. I had probable suspicion that my steering rack and pinion was bad due to the serious leaking of steering fluid coming out. Peter did a really good with the job at a reasonable time with fair pricing compared to other businesses. Another thing to add was that I had several dash lights left on due to replacing the brake pads and rotors on my own. Peter went through and cleared/fixed the VSA/brake issues so now that my dashboard isn't lit up like a Christmas tree! The service requested was a rack and pinion job as well as getting the engine bay cleaned so it would be easier to spot leaks in the future. I was recommend this place by my uncle and honestly if I was still living near Renton I would make this the go to place for my car to be serviced on. read more

I hate to give this place a 5 star rating cause I really don't want anybody to know about how great this place is. I basically just leave my vehicle there and wait for his call. Good work at a fair price. read more

Peter Tran is amazing. He diagnosed the problem within a day. Then gave us 3 different options to fix our temperature control issue in our 08 Kia Optima based on our budget. We decided on the full fix and it was done in less than 2 days and at a fairly reasonable price for the amount of work required to pull apart the car and reach the necessary parts. Plus a 1 year warranty on parts and labor! Honest, reliable, quick, and very nice. Highly recommend! read more

Very quick, excellent service at (what I think is) a reasonable price, and they're friendly folks to boot

I dont do a whole lot of reviews, but PeterTran has fixed my mom's Jeep Grand Cherokee which had electrical issues and was draining the battery, and also fixed my BMW, he is a very talented mechanic and reasonable price with excellent service! read more

Best place I've taken my car to .. he's honest .... Which is hard to find. Definitely worth checking out

Tran, Tran, he's our man. If he can't fix it, no one can! The person who introduced us to this repair shop taught us this rhyme, and it is apt. Peter is always very accommodating, very fast, and very affordable. With his catch phrase of, "no problem", everything is taken care of. Highly recommend! read more

Peter Tran Auto Repair is where I and my families go for car services for many years. Best quality and best price in town. We trust their work and never question on the cost. I would highly recommend. read more

I went to Peter Tran Auto Repair for years. Very honest owner. Good quality of works. Highly recommend.

I had a thermostat replaced in my Toyota Rav4 2020. I was quoted a price for a Toyota genuine part from dealership. I was given another part that wasn't from Toyota dealership but was still charged the Toyota price. Also, the coolant was not flush just drained and refilled. The thermostat price should have been adjusted accordingly if using another part other than what was quoted. I left a text but no reply. I am a regular customer. Japanese Auto in Lynnwood had quoted a better price but I was use to coming to Peter in previous years. read more

My grandpa introduced me to Peter Tran when I was a new driver at 16-17 years old. He's been taking care of our family for decades! I'm now 38, moved out of the area and still make the extra drive for his services...he is that good! Peter is honest, knowledgeable and frank with the cost of his services. read more

Very quick service & affordable prices. Peter Tran is a mine & my family's go-to auto repair. I even recommend it to my friends out in Tacoma or Federal Way who are in need of auto repair services because he's that great! Just recently got my timing belt & oil changed for my 04 Sonata (with plenty of mileage) to ship to Texas in very hot weather; he made sure there was all the necessary repairs prior to shipping. I've had my car for a couple months out here now & it has been in amazing working condition. read more

Had an issue on my Eurovan with my emissions indicator light. Peter got me in quickly and resolved the issue at a reasonable cost! I will definitely go back! read more

Peter is my favorite auto mechanic. I have been coming to him for a few years now after my dealership raised their rates to $75 for an oil change. He's the most friendly and honest mechanic I have ever met and his prices continue to be fair and reasonable every time I come in. Whenever he says that I need to invest in new parts, I feel like I can trust him and always take his advice. He never shames me for not knowing about cars or for coming in a few months late for an oil change. He's the best kept secret in Skyway! read more

Been a customer for over seven years and he's always been fair, reliable, quick and reasonable. There was one time when it was a 'dealer only' issue that he wasn't able to help me, and he promptly gave me his advice and didn't try to sugar-coat it. I've recommended him to friends for a very long time and continue to do so. read more

If I could give Peter Tran Auto Repair & Service 6 stars I would!! Peter is straight-forward which most places are, but they are rarely educational and easy-going like Peter. I find most places to be dismissive. I used to work on my car when it breaks down as an opportunity to learn but since I live in a condo I don't have the space. My whole family have been going here - parents and siblings. I didn't because I lived in North Seattle (Sand Point) and East Seattle (Capitol Hill). I've been missing this gem! I'm a grown ass woman who is always driving broke ass cars. My car is from 1995. Clearly I care about my return on investment. This place is exactly that. You get so much value! Peter fixed my car for $340 which is less than the $691 (in NW Seattle by a privately small shop I used to go to) and $711 (in Tukwila by a chain) I was quoted at two other places. So of course I shared this with all of my closest friends. My friend is taking her car there next week to get it looked at. read more

Fast response and same day service. Does not hussle you to purchase unnecessary services.

Peter has fixed so many things on my old, high mileage Honda CRV, and has always done a great job for a very fair price. Recently it was stolen and totaled and Peter gracefully allowed it to sit in his secure lot for like 2 weeks while my insurance figured out what to do about it, and then while I was cleaning it out he tried to help me get another affordable commuter car. He is a highly skilled neighborhood gem. read more

Peter is an excellent mechanic, and a superb person. Knowing people like him makes my life happier.

I always avoided this place because a) it's ghetto; and b) they were rude to me the only time I encountered them, and impatient. Turns out that they're impatient because they're so efficient. I had a radiator replaced within 3 hours of presenting them with the vehicle, for half the price I expected. Then, after I had already paid, they spent another 30 minutes making sure the heat worked properly. I would recommend going in early if you want the work done quickly. And don't judge until you get the full experience. read more

Ok, here's my mechanic. He's good. He can fix a beat to shit Toyota Corolla, or a new Porsche. I've seen both in his shop. Romans casino is next door so you can go gamble or do what I do is have a few beers and watch all the people lose their money. Peter will call you when your car is done. Hint: If he knows you're going over he works fast to get your car done. I think he has had more than one customer come back broke after doubling down. Peter is very honest as well. He won't bullshit you or lie to you. read more

Peter is a very knowledgeable and honest mechanic. We have taken two vehicles to Peter, and both have been repaired expertly, promptly, and quite reasonably priced. He tells you from the beginning if he can do the job, or refers you to someone who specializes in the repairs needed. He wastes none of your time, or money. Very trustworthy and competent. read more

I was referred to Peter by a friend who swears by him. Mind you, my friend is the one who usually helps me with my car problems, so when he cant fix his own car issues he takes his vehicle to Peter. With this in mind, I knew I'd be in good hands. Peter was really easy to work with and friendly. He is honest about what your car needs and wont overcharge you or recommend work you dont need. I definitely will be using him from now on. read more

Excellent mechanic! Honest, fair and reliable. I've been taking my vehicles here for at least a decade. My entire family uses Peter. It's hard to find honest and reputable businesses these days. With Peter, you can be assured that he will care care of your problems and you won't be taken to the cleaners. Thanks Peter! read more

Peter is always super friendly. My car is older and has lots of problems. I live far, so I rack up all my problems and bring it to him. He always does everything for cheap and will check everything for me, if I need a repair. I've had concerns about my car, and he will be honest in telling me what I don't need repaired yet, and what I do. He has done my belts, my oil, my radiator hoses, electrical issues, fixed my window, my oil pan gasket, and whatever else there was. He can do anything. My whole family trusts him. The best mechanic in the pacific northwest! Very honest, nice, and reasonable. read more

On a Sunday before MLK Day, my check engine light went on and my car started running very, very poorly. I called around to all the franchise places like Firestone and the like to see if they might be able to get me in that day or the next day. None of them were able to give me a guarantee beyond "drop your car off and we'll see if we can get to it." On Monday, MLK Day, I started reviewing other alternatives. Lo and behold, I found Peter Tran. His shop was open, and he said that he'd take a look at it as soon as I brought it in. I was able to drop the vehicle off, get a quote that was much lower than I was expecting it to be, and have the vehicle back to me within three or so hours. ON A HOLIDAY. He did great work. He saved me a lot of money. He did the work on a holiday. He was prompt, professional, friendly and easy to deal with. There's no doubt that I'll be using him if anything else happens to my car. Give Peter a try. Not the best neighborhood, but some of the best service you can get! read more

Highly recommended. A great experience with them. Peter is knowledgeable, experienced, and most of all, cares about his work. He gave us good advice about what repairs were appropriate for the car given age and value and steered us away from work that waste money. When I had questions afterwards, he was very responsive and helpful. I read the other 5-star reviews and agree with what they have to say. read more

I've started going to peter since 2012 because my moms has always had him work or her car. Peter is the type of mechanic that doesn't try to con you to get more money. Everytime I go him and his beautiful wife ask how I've been and about my mom, and how's school going. He lets me know what repairs need to be done asap and which can wait and for how long. I'm the type of person that ask how long i can wait, what are the safety risk when waiting etc. He never has a problem with answering my questions even when i ask him a lot back to back. I always get a two second opinions on repairs that i need on my car and everytime I have they tell me the same thing peter says is wrong, so after so many years I just learned to trust peter. Plus the other auto shops always tell me theres some magical problem with my car addition to the second opinion I'm getting (rolls eyes). I'm an hands on type of girl if its something i can learn to fix on my own i will so if I'm going to a auto shop I have to trust they'll do a good job and I don't trust easily but i trust peter, It didn't come easy. If you haven't already you have to try him, there's a reason he has such high ratings. read more

The place doesn't look like much but it doesn't need to. The first time I brought my 2003 Honda Element in I was new to the neighborhood, the shop was walking distance to my house, and I needed suspension work done. My car was done quickly and when I showed my dad the bill (to get his opinion) he said I got good value for the work done. I've had more work done both big and small and Peter is consistently effective, efficient and reasonably priced. He even drove me home a couple times when weather was crappy. read more

Peter has been able to repair my aging 97 Honda CRV a couple of times, including the radiator and a broken window. He's been fast, reliable, and very reasonably priced. It's been great to find a neighborhood auto mechanic. Definitely call ahead to make sure they are open - they might be brusque on the phone, but they're honest. read more

very bad auto shop. had my brakes "fixed" and then almost killed a lady because he forgot to bleed brakes. this is very basic stuff. he also can't fix a broken power window, and he also can't fix anything else! worst mechanic I've ever been to. I went to auto tune in Renton and they fixed my car (actually fixed) for half the price read more

Mr. Tran accepted my appointment to change my front car brakes within a couple of minutes. I came by, dropped the car off and had him and his colleagues go to work. they took about and hour and a half to clean the brakes on my back tires and replace the two front brakes. My car now runs smoothly and did I mention his prices are ridiculously cheap? Great place with seasoned professional mechanics. read more

I don't know too much about cars, but I know my car has never failed me. I've been getting all my work done at Peter Tran's for 5 years now. He always quotes me much less than other car repair shops and I never feel like he's trying to up charge me for services that I don't need. read more

As one other reviewer mentioned, this review is long overdue. The short story: Peter Tran deserves ALL THE STARS. But, they will only let me give him five. So, he gets five. I discovered Peter Tran by accident many years ago when I actually lived in Skyway. What the reviewers say is true - this shop does not enjoy the best location. So, just think of it as the biggest, shiniest, most brilliant diamond in the rough you're ever gonna find. I could tell you about all the work Peter has done for me, but chances are good you're not going to know or care about any of that. All you need to know is that if you take your car here, you're going to get better, cheaper service than you'll find anywhere else. Hands down. Feel lucky you found these reviews, and this shop. Driving costs money, but now it's gonna cost you a whole lot less. Thanks for everything, Peter! read more

2nd to NONE when it comes to fixing Autos. Peter is Heaven sent. Thanks Petey Pete

He fit me in last minute. I was in a hurry, He hurried. Charged me 15-20% more than I thought was fair, but he did the previous 2 things which I am grateful for. read more

my roommate and i are visiting seattle for the weekend and her car wouldn't start. it was an absolute shit show of a morning. we had to call a tow truck (her insurance doesn't cover towing) and take a very awkward ride with this man who definitely thinks we are stupid. anyway, we found this random auto repair shop. we very awkwardly hobbled our dumbasses over to mr tran and told him "yea our car with long start" he welcomed us and our dysfunctional vehicle with open arms. my roommate and i went to lunch where i proceeded to get daydrunk cuz why the eff not. he called us to come pick up the car cuz he made it all better. overall he was very pleasant and made us feel very comfortable amongst a shitty situation. not to mention we are from cali and plan to drive that car 14 hours back home the next day. today has been hectic but mr peter tran we thank you for your excellent service :) ps i'm still drunk read more

Went in Sat. morning with leaking top tank on 1995 Mazda Miata radiator (10:00AM). He installed a new radiator and changed the oil, done at 3 PM that day. Great service !! Recommend them for sure !! Todd. read more

Peter is fantastic. He's honest and straightforward and will help you understand what's going on with your car. His rates are fair. He is timely. And he knows his stuff! I've never had a bad experience or outcome with Peter, and I trust him with all my vehicles. He's solved a couple of problems for me that other shops could not. You might think the location indicates a cut rut mechanic or a shop looking to take advantage. Neither could be farther from the truth. This is an upstanding honest business and they do quality work. Give Peter a call -- he'll treat you right. read more
