Peter Tran was very transparent and clear with diagnosing an issue I had with my Acura TSX. I had probable suspicion that my steering rack and pinion was bad due to the serious leaking of steering fluid coming out. Peter did a really good with the job at a reasonable time with fair pricing compared to other businesses. Another thing to add was that I had several dash lights left on due to replacing the brake pads and rotors on my own. Peter went through and cleared/fixed the VSA/brake issues so now that my dashboard isn't lit up like a Christmas tree! The service requested was a rack and pinion job as well as getting the engine bay cleaned so it would be easier to spot leaks in the future. I was recommend this place by my uncle and honestly if I was still living near Renton I would make this the go to place for my car to be serviced on. read more

I had a thermostat replaced in my Toyota Rav4 2020. I was quoted a price for a Toyota genuine part from dealership. I was given another part that wasn't from Toyota dealership but was still charged the Toyota price. Also, the coolant was not flush just drained and refilled. The thermostat price should have been adjusted accordingly if using another part other than what was quoted. I left a text but no reply. I am a regular customer. My whole family have been going here - parents and siblings. I didn't because I lived in North Seattle (Sand Point) and East Seattle (Capitol Hill). I've been missing this gem! I always avoided this place because a) it's ghetto; and b) they were rude to me the only time I encountered them, and impatient. Turns out that they're impatient because they're so efficient. I had a radiator replaced within 3 hours of presenting them with the vehicle, for half the price I expected. Then, after I had already paid, they spent another 30 minutes making sure the heat worked properly. I would recommend going in early if you want the work done quickly. Ok, here's my mechanic. He's good. He can fix a beat to shit Toyota Corolla, or a new Porsche. I've seen both in his shop. Romans casino is next door so you can go gamble or do what I do is have a few beers and watch all the people lose their money. Peter will call you when your car is done. On a Sunday before MLK Day, my check engine light went on and my car started running very, very poorly. I called around to all the franchise places like Firestone and the like to see if they might be able to get me in that day or the next day. I've started going to peter since 2012 because my moms has always had him work or her car. Peter is the type of mechanic that doesn't try to con you to get more money. Everytime I go him and his beautiful wife ask how I've been and about my mom, and how's school going. He lets me know what repairs need to be done asap and which can wait and for how long. I'm the type of person that ask how long i can wait, what are the safety risk when waiting etc. He never has a problem with answering my questions even when i ask him a lot back to back. I always get a two second opinions on repairs that i need on my car and everytime I have they tell me the same thing peter says is wrong, so after so many years I just learned to trust peter. Plus the other auto shops always tell me theres some magical problem with my car addition to the second opinion I'm getting (rolls eyes). I'm an hands on type of girl if its something i can learn to fix on my own i will so if I'm going to a auto shop I have to trust they'll do a good job and I don't trust easily but i trust peter, It didn't come easy. The place doesn't look like much but it doesn't need to. The first time I brought my 2003 Honda Element in I was new to the neighborhood, the shop was walking distance to my house, and I needed suspension work done. My car was done quickly and when I showed my dad the bill (to get his opinion) he said I got good value for the work done. I discovered Peter Tran by accident many years ago when I actually lived in Skyway. What the reviewers say is true - this shop does not enjoy the best location. So, just think of it as the biggest, shiniest, most brilliant diamond in the rough you're ever gonna find. I could tell you about all the work Peter has done for me, but chances are good you're not going to know or care about any of that. All you need to know is that if you take your car here, you're going to get better, cheaper service than you'll find anywhere else. Hands down. Feel lucky you found these reviews, and this shop. my roommate and i are visiting seattle for the weekend and her car wouldn't start. it was an absolute shit show of a morning. we had to call a tow truck (her insurance doesn't cover towing) and take a very awkward ride with this man who definitely thinks we are stupid. anyway, we found this random auto repair shop. we very awkwardly hobbled our dumbasses over to mr tran and told him "yea our car with long start" he welcomed us and our dysfunctional vehicle with open arms. my roommate and i went to lunch where i proceeded to get daydrunk cuz why the eff not. he called us to come pick up the car cuz he made it all better. overall he was very pleasant and made us feel very comfortable amongst a shitty situation. not to mention we are from cali and plan to drive that car 14 hours back home the next day. today has been hectic but mr peter tran we thank you for your excellent service :) ps i'm still drunk read more

Mr. Tran accepted my appointment to change my front car brakes within a couple of minutes. I came by, dropped the car off and had him and his colleagues go to work. they took about and hour and a half to clean the brakes on my back tires and replace the two front brakes.
