I've brought my truck to this shop twice now--and not because I love spending money on repairs, but because they actually know what they're doing and treat people right. First time, my clutch gave out right in front of their shop. I'm talking perfect timing--coasted right into their lot like the truck knew where it needed to be. I already knew it was the clutch, so I didn't need a big diagnostic song and dance. The mechanic came out, confirmed it, no upsell nonsense. They got it done in a day and even sent me pictures during the repair like a proud parent updating me on my truck's progress. Second time, same truck--this thing's dramatic. I lost all power out of nowhere. I thought, "No big deal, probably a simple fix. I've Googled stuff before." Then I pulled off the timing cover and found the timing belt snapped clean off. Not great. I shopped around and got quoted some wild prices--like, "just buy a new truck" level ridiculous. A couple places didn't even bother telling me what was wrong, just that I needed a whole new engine. No thanks. So I went back to this shop. Sam asked a few smart questions, figured out what kind of engine I had, and educated me on how it could actually be repaired--not replaced. He even helped me get it towed over for next to nothing (less than 5 miles). Total lifesaver. They've been transparent the whole time. I even swung by mid-repair like a nosy neighbor and got to see the progress. It really seems like once they've got the parts, they're fast and efficient--like one-day turnaround kind of fast. You will replace random parts, which might seem like a deal and It will all be good until you pick up your car for the third time . Leave with more problems than you arrived with and it will not work at the end anyway. Had coolant leak after these guys expertise I had a blown motor spent 5k to have them put in a (new motor) which is %300 bullshit if u ask me. just so it runs barely 2 months and leaves you with 2 other shops you need to figure out what the heck they did to get You in this disaster of a hell hole you call service. and no I never returned to your shop and dont plan to.I wouldn't take my son's hot wheels car to fix here you can't be trusted after my experience. I have also come across quite a few similar negative experiences, how strange? I will be coming by to see how you want to move forward, not looking for problems but if you want a problem! to me that's no problem. after this horrible decision to come here and play their foolish game thinking it's decent people trying to make an honest living. my state was furious beyond comprehensions wasted months and 5k trying to get a coolant leak on my gmc Savanah. I went into debt and eventually lost my business due to your service of mechanic expertise. and I will not let you get away with it oh no sir you chose poorly, and do not comprehend to mess you out me through. i won't allow u to do this to someone else. my van barley ran 2 weeks after your shop and 2 other shops had to look at it and didn't even want to get involved. the final conclusion loose ground wire!!!!! This PLACE IS A JOKE !!! Please save time, money and energy from ever going to this place ! At first it seemed all good professional and business wise. Then came time to work on my husbands truck for a lift and spacers for the front. Was told the job can be done and all in a day and ready for pick up the same day. Come to find out the whole time my husband truck was just sitting at the shop not even being worked on and no communication of the missing items that were needed to complete the job. The son's father the owner which is a joke waited until the time the shop was going to close to call up my husband and tell him they are unable to provide the service. Did not put back the items that we provided to lift the truck just very not concerned how much my husband was expecting the job to be done . Honestly this place is a waste of time and should not be recommended or open! This place needs to shut down because obviously they do not want to work ! Let me briefly offer a comparison as I took into consideration a lot of local businesses near me as I'm a student and spend carefully because this market is populated with more businesses just trying to hustle costumers, and for the most part everyone i talked for a quote, got really unreasonable rates. I had my Lexus ES350 repaired at Acer Auto Repair over 2 months ago. I waited a little while before writing a review, just to make sure I didn't have to go back for the same issue. First off, putting gas in my car is the extent of my knowledge with cars. So I was very, very hesitant to go to any mechanic shop. My radiator and water pump needed to be replaced. It was an expensive job, Sam gave me a quote of $1600. Ouch! Sam was not pushy at all, he wasn't a "salesman". Instead he was encouraging me to gather quotes from other repair shops. Well, I did and other shops quoted me about $200-300 more. I decided to get my car fixed. I was told it would take 3 days to fix. Well, Sam and his team finished the repairs in a day and a half. Not only did they finish early, they reduced my charges by $300. Wow! I was not expecting that at all. They could've totally ripped me off and held my car for 3 days and charge me the full $1600. Sam showed me the old parts that they replaced. My car is running great, no high pitched squeeking and no leaks anymore. My Lexi will run another 10 years or so.... I would highly recommend Sam and his team at Acer Auto Repair. Every part about my experience was stellar. I felt like Sam was a long time friend. And his ability to explain the issues at hand were perfect. Some mechanics can be condescending or overly complex: not Sam - he walked me under and around the truck to exactly see what he was explaining, and why it mattered. We are from Juneau, AK, but had flown to the northwest to purchase a vehicle for a return drive through Canada. Found a workable used truck from a private party, and while I knew there were some issues to sort out, I trusted it would make it back to town without any major problems. Just to ease our minds, we decided that on Saturday we would have a mechanic look it over. Looking at yelp, I found Ace Auto Repair. I called and left a message from our hotel room. Sam from "Acer" (what shows up on the Credit Card statement) called back within 10 minutes and after explaining my hopes, he said that he could get me in. I love the idea of "under promise and over deliver" and Sam does not disappoint. "I can get you in within 1-2 hours, but I'll call you if I can make it happen sooner." He called me after another 15 minutes. We got it in his hands, and within 25 minutes, he had a three prioritized recommendations of work to be completed before starting our drive north. He got to work, and we went to the mall with our rental car. We agreed that they would work on the top two issues which would take him to the end of shop hours. We rolled back in around 5:45 to check in with hopes of getting the vehicle back in order to return our rental. While the first task was completed, the second hadn't started yet. In hopes of not returning our rental late, I asked Sam about a possible loaner car... His response, "Take my car." Really?! Wow! By the time we drove to seatac and back, the second task had been completed. He sent us on our merry way, and threw in 3 quarts of oil & parts needed for the 3rd recommended repair (oil pressure switch & seal). He's won my business and my friendship. Went here because my check engine light was one and the 3 fixes O'Reilly told us to do didn't work. And my car was running very poorly. So we went here and they figured out what was wrong pretty quickly. Sam brought me into the shop and actually showed me the bad ignition coil and why my car needed a tune up. He told me how much it would be and we decided to leave the car there for them to do it the next day (we were there at the end of the day). My car was done the next day and we picked it up after work. Running great now! I really appreciated the way Sam treated me. Some men in the automotive industry seem to think that they have a right to speak down to you or treat you like an idiot just because you don't know much about cars. Sam explained everything to me in a way I could understand and treated me like a competent human being. He never once talked down to me. To be honest i got my car repaired in three days and it was a big job, replacing the engine. and the price was also fair. all the mechanics were really really friendly with me and my family, they showed us every single thing they did on the car. These guys are awesome. I had some work done on my Jeep a couple of months ago and they did good work for a great price. Yesterday my Honda wouldn't start so I had it towed there on a Sunday at 9:30 am. They had me up and running with a new starter and an oil change by 12:45... on a Sunday! Also only charge $20 bucks for an oil change. I highly recommend them for all of your auto repair/maintenance needs. read more

A couple of months ago, I took my truck into Acer for some work. I was told my engine needed replacing. After accepting this and moving on, I was given a choice between a couple engines. I was initially weary of a used engine, but Sam, one of their mechanics, reassured me as to the condition of a particular used engine. After some talking about prices, I went with the used engine, which was recommended by Sam. I am a 19 year old girl, so not knowing any better, this seemed like a good plan. Not even a year later, the engine is toast, and was apparently on its way to death from the moment i bought it. AND IT WASNT EVEN THE PROPER ENGINE FOR THE CAR. If you don't know much about cars, DO NOT GO TO ACER. They will rip you off and exploit you. I had taken it back for other minor repairs that I was told were dealt with and that I paid for but that were still broken. I have been paying out the a** for repairs on my car consistently since. I took my vehicle in to have the clutch replaced. When I picked the vehicle up the mechanic told us he lost the original bolt but found one that would work and we should have no issues. My Husband was taking the car to discuss some issues with the clutch when he heard a snap. The owner said that what he heard was bad engine mounts, and needed to be replaced, but he could do it for about 4 days as he was busy, I called another place that could have it done by the next day, later was I told the boss mount broke which is attached to my transmission case and it would require buying a whole new case or see if it can be welded. Called back and Sam said they can't weld or do they know anyone who could. I took it to someone who rebuilt my transmission for my SUV and he was able to weld it without pulling the transmission, but also informed me that if it doesn't hold then I would have to pull the transmission and replace the case. In April the weld broke again and took it back to the other transmission shop and started to have to pull everything out as he started to notice not only was the bolt for the boss wrong all the other nuts and bolts were wrong to put back together the engine case for the clutch. It came back that the clutch was too small for my car, the fly wheel he had resurfaced had fibers stuck to it, and looked like it was sand papered. Mounts broke all around and was replaced. I paid Acer over $1,000 for repairs just to go back and pay another $2,000 to fix what they screwed up. I think they sabotaged my vehicle so I would have to take it back for more repairs. I would look at the Better Business Bureau website as there is a claim in for a guy that had his car worked on and no needs a whole new engine as they didn't put his alternator belt back on and he drove the car. I feel if you take your vehicle to this place, you better have another mechanic in place to recheck their work for accuracy. I will never go back to that shop to have any work done. Also the owner needs to learn what unemployed vs. taking time off for emergency means! read more
