So I agreed to do both. during work it was discovered that the radiator also leaked so I agreed to replacing that as well. When I met with John to pick the car up he simply handed me my keys and said he wasn't going to charge me for any of the work performed due to the shops inability to correct a new starting issue with the vehicle he suggested that it runs fine and starts perfect most the time, so maybe I just drive it. Suggested I could take it to another shop and diagnose what's wrong with it but really it wasn't a big runability issue. So now I'm thinking what the heck did you do to my car, so I took it to GM in Auburn and paid for diagnosis. John expects that I should be happy with the fact I didn't have to pay for any of the work that he performed on the vehicle. In his mind evidently future repairs which are substantial plus the car I had to rent because this was my daily is all on me, not his problem. I was first referred through a mutual connection and immediately appreciated the honesty and no-pressure attitude. I started bringing in my 1999 Subaru Forester, and every visit was fast, efficient, and straightforward. Near the end of that car's life, he gave me an honest assessment--there wasn't much he could do for it, and he even recommended a specialized shop. He didn't try to push unnecessary work and didn't charge for the visit. That kind of integrity really stuck with me. Now I bring in my Toyota RAV4, and I've had the same reliable service. Most recently, I had a dashboard light come on--he found that a rat had chewed some electrical wires. He fixed the issue, confirmed everything else looked great, and got me back on the road quickly. What sets this place apart is the genuine honesty, professionalism, and pride in doing right by the customer. He doesn't upsell, doesn't overcharge, and treats your car like it matters. It's rare to find a mechanic you can trust, and once you do, you stick with them. I'll continue bringing my car here and recommend this shop to anyone looking for honest, quality service.

Avoid This Shop Unless You Enjoy Wasting Money and Time…read more If I could give zero stars, I would. More than two years ago, I brought my car in for a simple front brake pad and rotor replacement, and now--after THREE visits to (supposedly) replace the offending cheap brake pads they originally installed--the issue of the ongoing, excessive black brake dust covering my front wheels still hasn't been resolved. Each time, I was assured the problem was taken care of--and each time, I left with the exact same mess. At this point, I'm seriously wondering if this shop ever actually replaced the brake pads after the first time, since there's never been any evidence that they did. Rommel is full of promises but short on results. He either doesn't know what he's doing or simply doesn't care--and I'm honestly not sure which is worse. When he had the audacity to ask me to bring my car in a FOURTH TIME (seriously?), I instead asked him for a refund of the $604 I had initially paid him. He refused, claiming, "That wouldn't be fair." I'D LOVE TO KNOW WHAT'S FAIR ABOUT A 74-YEAR-OLD WOMAN HAVING TO CLEAN SOLID BLACK BRAKE DUST OFF HER FRONT WHEELS (WEEKLY!) FOR 2.5 YEARS--ALL THANKS TO THE CHEAP BRAKE PADS ROMMEL USED, WHICH HE (quite laughably) PROMISED ME WERE "BETTER THAN ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT." My recent plan was to take this unethical "businessman" (I use that term lightly) to Small Claims Court, but I realized that (Rommel being Rommel) the likelihood of him showing up was pretty much nil. And even if I won the judgment--as I surely would--I would most likely never see a dime of that money again. If you're looking for competent, honest auto service, keep driving.
