Our heat went out. Alex (listed on Angie's list as alfred cebula) said he would come at 2 pm or 4 pm, so I worked from home to make sure I would be home in time for 2 pm. Then at 2 pm, he said 4 or 5, and he came just before 6. I told him that I missed work to wait for him. He told me that he assumed I would just be home, and I needed to tell him that I have to go to work for him to ask if I should miss work. Do people assume that men are at home all afternoon on a Monday?
Worse, he took part of our heater, and refused to give a price estimate so he could extort us for whatever random amount. He said that he would call before buying the part but didn't. He did fix the heater but did not give a receipt or warranty. He charged $200 for part and $300 for about 10 minutes of labor. read more
