Had one of the worst experiences. Literally left shellshocked. As we walked in the door the person who hosted a young man, was rude right off the bat. He was like a character from a Saturday night live skit. Told us to go sit down at a table for four and no one helped us for a good 25 minutes Finally a sour face waitress came to our table with a look on her face that she really did not want to help us. After much delay the food arrived and much of it was in edible. We ended up walking to a nearby snack shop and eating junk food for dinner. Left most of our food on the table. Everyone we interacted with was so unprofessional and clearly didn't understand the idea of the hospitality industry. Please note the hotel staff is extremely nice that this restaurant is in but the restaurant staff has no idea what they're doing. The management of this place needs to rethink. Re-hire. Do not eat here! I traveled all day with my family wanting a good meal. All I got was my appetizer spilled my on my leg and jacket. We arrived before two other tables and were served way after them. I booked this restaurant for our party of 8 on a Friday night during spring break. The night before, I got a message saying the reservation was cancelled. I called the restaurant, the person that answered the phone assured me there was no issue and my reservation was still on the books. 3 hours prior to my dinner, I get a text from the restaurant saying they are hosting a rehearsal dinner and can no longer accommodate my reservation. I called and asked they rebook me at another restaurant and they said everything in town was sold out. I had made this reservation over 2 months in advance and they left me with no apology, no dinner, and 8 hungry people. There isn't even fast food in telluride so you are really out of luck. Ended up eating cold deli meat from the grocery for my birthday dinner. I can't believe anyone is so unprofessional! What's worse is you have to pay a deposit if you make a reservation to ensure you don't cancel- but apparently they can cancel at any time! I was so so mad and disappointed. DO NOT make a reservation here and expect them to honor it!!! read more

We were staying here and decided to grab an easy dinner. After being seated, we waited a bit before someone came to get our drink order. It was not busy, only one other table and a couple of people at the bar. I ordered the flat iron steak (medium) and my son ordered the mac and cheese. My steak came out so charred it was bitter so I sent it back. They cooked another and it came out less charred but very rare. The waiter offered to comp our dinner but my son enjoyed his so I paid for that. Maybe it was an off night. We stayed here a year ago and had our first meal here. It was very good. But it's really not hard to cook a flat iron steak without charring the outside. read more

What a sweet little gem. You can take the gondola all the way up and go to the Mountain Lodge to a tiny bar and grill inside called The View. Gorgeous enormous log cabin dining room with stone fireplace and a huge picture window with an insanely beautiful view. Service was fantastic and it was super relaxing and out of the hustle and bustle of Main Street. We ordered the grilled naan and hummus, the grilled ham and cheese, Mac and cheese, and the boring green salad. We enjoyed all of our menu items and the prices were very reasonable. I had a white sangria as well which was wonderful. We cannot understand why this place is not super busy on a Saturday night but happy to be able to choose the table right by the window. read more

We were staying at the lodge so we ended up eating here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The view eating area was very nice as you could sit in a sofa or a table if you liked. It was like a million degrees in there though. Not sure why they had the fire and heat going when it was 50 outside but hey. Service was good. Breakfast was ok. I guess the room menus were not current when I sent my husband to order bfast. He got the bfast burrito which wasn't bad and I ended up with the lox and cream cheese bagel which came with crazy potent raw white onions. Not sure who eats that. Lunch, a solid winner was the cheeseburger. SO good. I like the presentation on a cutting board but I was constantly in danger of dripping delicious all over my person due to the unconventional "plate". Dinner, I had the elk shepard's pie which wasn't shepard's pie at all but very delicious all the same. My husband and two other guests all ordered the steak frites and despite all ordering rare, the meats came out at varying degrees of pink. My only real complaint was that we were a huge table which meant a gross splitting of cards and cash. I saw that I was double charged and called to have it sorted. A very rude manager of some kind told me he was looking at my refund, despite my telling him the opposite. All he needed to say was that refunds may take several days to post. Glad he's in the service industry. Everyone else was very amicable. read more

Took forever to get seated and then order, food took very long and came out cold, incorrect, etc. We ordered Mac n cheese and we were told an hour later they ran out. When was that?! And then got comped nothing when the table next to us got their whole bill comped. Possibly just poorly staffed, but will not be returning. read more

We were rather disappointed in our experience with this restaurant. The server did a great job, but that was the only great thing. Due to Covid, the seating in the restaurant is understandably quite different than it appears in the photos. Mostly large, round tables for groups of 6 or 8... only three table tops for two. We were a party of two, and the last table top for two was kind of stuffed in a corner. Typically this would be my preferred location in a restaurant, private and secluded, but we made reservations for the VIEW. Instead, my husband was looking out a double set of doors and I had just a tiny bit of window in my view that allowed me to see a tiny bit of a mountain peak. Meanwhile, all of the large tables with views or near the fireplace remained empty the entire time we dined. And, what the photos don't show you is that the view out of the windows also looks across the pool deck. The restaurant and pool are at the same level, so even if we had a view it would have included pool users. We made reservations via OpenTable, in which the owners ask for a credit card to hold the table, charging it $65/PP if you do not show. $65 is the fixed menu dinner cost, plus drinks - which we knew at the time of making the reservation but we thought we were paying for an epic view... The food itself was okay. Our appetizers, drinks, and desserts were excellent - the steaks were subpar and were served on a large pile of some sort of white bean. The beans were completely out of place for this meal - just a completely different taste palate than the blue cheese, bacon, and asparagus that also went with the steak. I would typically never leave a bad review, but I think the advertisements for this restaurant are untruthful - so we walked out with a $200+ bill and disappointment. There are other restaurants in Mountain Village that offer actual views at a lesser cost. read more

Food wise it's difficult to go wrong here. It's your normal breakfast stuff done extremely well. I got a waffle with bacon and my wife did the lodge hash browns. Everything was a prefect chrisp and served on heated plates. But there are strong signs the hotel goes extremely cheap on things. They don't want to stock stuff so they ran out of syrup on a Saturday before 9am. They served us cold coffee because they use non insulated carafes. The coffee goes cold within 5 minutes. When management goes cheap it's impossible to have a great experience. read more

My family and I gave this place three tries during our stay in Telluride. The first time the service was very slow and the food was average hotel food. We gave it another chance for a 'fast breakfast' before skiing and the service was still impeccably slow. After skiing two of us went back, and the manager seated us with water, and after that no one came over to us or even bothered to look at us. We got up and left, I told one of the servers the situation and she smiled and very passively said "Sorry, have a good day," which only made the situation worse. I went directly to the manager who previously seated us and his response was "Well where were you sitting?" and continued to offer the second round of 'free drinks' to my family. Might I remind, that he offered drinks to an underaged person (knowing or not) we just wanted lunch. read more

So I'm in Mountain Village visiting from Dallas and I look for a nice place to eat some food and pretty late at night it's about 8:30 when I walk over to this place and let me tell you that the exterior is absolutely beautiful. The huge vista windows are breathtaking with the views of the mountains. And of course the food is also amazing. My server Taylor took good care of me even though there was a wedding reception in the main area and they still allowed me to order food to go which was very nice. I'm chilling now eating this wonderful salmon BLT at my condo and wow.. It's amazing! I recommend grabbing a cocktail and sitting by the beautiful fireplace on a cold winter night. Great slope side lunch option! The laid-back vibe and quick seating make this one of our favorite places to frequent on a ski day. The food is always tasty and served quickly too. The chef has helped steer us in the right direction as far as gluten-free items go, which is much appreciated. Having a quality lunch option that's ski-in, ski-out is excellent for our family of five. The View has become our new go-to and we recommend it to hungry skiers and travelers alike. read more

When traveling, we try to never eat in hotels because we like to try local flavor. But we have stayed at Mountain Logde two ski seasons now and we always save a night to have dinner at The View. Atmosphere is very mountain ski lodgey....stunning with massive wood burning fireplace, log walls, gorgeous view. And the food is excellent....flatbread starter, queso, osso bucco, flatiron steak, pot de creme, all great. The beautiful bar is wonderful too. read more

I usually don't write bad reviews but this place was horrible which is sad because it is beautiful and cozy. My friend and myself ordered a chicken club sandwich and a salad and neither of them were eatable. The bread was so hard it actually hurt your gums to bite it and the grilled chicken was burned so badly it had a taste of charcoal. The salad had no taste at all like eating lettuce. We were staying at the lodge and were so exhausted from skiing all day we just wanted something close and figured we would eat here. I mean how bad could it be its in the middle of the most upscale ski community in the world. Well it was a mistake and we actually left 80% of our food on the plate and walked to the grocery next door and ate snack foods for dinner. Do yourself a favor and take the short gondola ride into town and eat anywhere else. read more

After reading poor reviews of this restaurant I have to believe the staff must be new. My family of five went for dinner last night and although had to wait 30 minutes to get a table, we were promptly served while waiting at the bar and promptly seated and served when our table was ready. We had the chips and queso, wings, burger (which is always excelled), the salmon BLT, the caprese salad and the boring salad with salmon. All items were delicious. We enjoyed our favorite singer in Telluride Boxcar who plays here on Thursday's from 4-7. We have been to Telluride many times and this restaurant is great, with amazing views and one of the very few moderately priced restaurants in Telluride. read more

Beautiful views, but Sunday breakfast service was poor. 2 waitresses for both the indoor and outdoor spaces. They ran their butts off but just couldn't keep up. Sausage was under-cooked and it took 15 minutes just to get their attention. Had to ask 3 times for water. Getting the check was just as difficult. Too bad. read more
