There is a lot to like about this little six room hotel. All of your communications are handled remotely and they do it well. They have a small kitchenette with a fridge, bags of ice and coffee machines and they restock it daily. They also offer a whisky bar and a rooftop bar. The rooftop bar has a great view and a good bartender but it closes at 8:00 pm. The negatives are: the whiskey bar is never open. Maybe in the height of summer but certainly not when we were they (for three nights) and when I asked the bartender told me he had no plans to open it. However the real negative was the bathroom in our room (The Memphis). My wife always says that innkeepers who run boutique properties should stay in every room for one night. I think that if they had done they would understand the drawbacks of our room. The shower area has one open wall that let's water spill out over the rest of the bathroom. They have a rain shower head and wall mounted head that is the perfect for those vertically challenged folk (4'10" and under fit perfectly). Most wall mount shower heads have slider bars to make them usable. There is no housekeeping, which again, I get. It's a small property. But they literally have no place to dry your towels other than to hang them on handles of the sliding door leading to the bathroom. There is also no counter space to put your toiletries. Are these first world problems, yes they are but to us they made the difference between a meh stay and a good one. read more

Stayed at the Imogene hotel. Absolutely ZERO complaints. It was SUPER clean (and I'm kind of a clean freak), quiet (we were here during the week) and adorable. Our room was the Silver Belle. The views from the room itself is incredible. The only thing that was unexpected was this isn't really a hotel rather a shared airbnb/ restaurant with separated rooms that lock (but I think that's fairly common in this location ‍) But it was an amazing experience. Part of the reason we booked this location was for the rooftop patio and it did NOT disappoint. The Thai restaurant will serve you food there as well which is delicious! I definitely would stay here again if I come back to Ouray! read more

My husband and I stayed in the lucky twenty room for one night. It was super cute and clean. Loved the bathroom with the claw foot tub! It's right on the Main Street with lots of walkable food and shops. The coffee bar room was nice as well with plenty of fridge space, cold water, and ice. Everything around it seemed to shut down by 9pm so once that was the case, the hotel itself was nice and quiet all night. I'd def stay here again! read more

Went to our neighboring mountain town of Ouray during the 4th of July weekend, and boy was the town packed and the weather hot! By mid-afternoon after a little shopping and hiking we decided to grab a quick drink to cool down. Landed at The Imogene because I've been dying to go since they opened up and wanted to hit up their rooftop patio! Last order time was at 2:00pm, so we had to hustle but it did not disappoint. Since we already had lunch we just ordered drinks. They have this slick touch-less system where you scan their QR code to see their menu and place your order. We ordered a Diet Coke and a Margarita. I'd say four for drink, three for food, and three for cleanliness. The drinks were good, though a hair expensive for what you're getting. You're definitely paying for the rooftop bar views and being in a super touristy area. They had a sign outside bragging about ten craft beers on tap, except they were out of all the good ones. You order through QR code but staff were helpful with questions. The rooftop was awesome while it lasted and before we had to move inside because of a thunderstorm. Because of that, our second round of drinks just sat in some weird in-between space and we didn't get them served. Luckily, one of the guys saw we were waiting for a long time, asked our situation, and grabbed the drinks. The fries with gravy, cheese, and meat were crazy salty. My partner is your typical salt loving potato eater and even thought they were too salty. The bathrooms were...disgusting. One had no soap, and one had no hand towels. I was actually really surprised that nobody was tending to the bathrooms, because once everybody had to move inside away from the rooftop, there were three extra workers standing around doing nothing that eventually went home. Nobody checked the bathrooms which were suffering. The staff were hit or miss. There were mostly helpful staff, but one of the female bartenders who seemed really busy with being on her phone, was not very nice. My partner ordered beer and after waiting a while (again!), he went to the bar to pick up his drink there so she didn't have to leave to bar to bring it to the table. She seemed super offended by it and told him she would bring it out. She ended up bringing the wrong beer (she brought the one he previously had, not the new style he ordered in the app). I looked at her and said thank you and she literally just walked away. ¿Que? This review is for their rooftop bar only. What a great find in downtown Ouray! You can't possibly think of a better way to finish your long fun day than having some drinks on a rooftop bar with an amazing view. T-Mobile has zero service in Ouray so it was awesome that the Imogene offers free WiFi, and everything (ordering food/drinks as well as paying) is done through the app. It was super easy, and I hope more places implement this way of business. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the view was breathtaking and the drinks were strong and delicious! The food menu looked pretty standard but they have a really good Thai place downstairs in case you are starving :) I highly recommend checking it out if you are in Ouray! read more

Ok we were there during a weird time I guess. The bartender who was there was actually awesome and making the best of what he had to work with. Apparently they fired the entire staff except him. Labor Day weekend. One person. Crazy. There's no food. He barely had enough alcohol and mixers to make anything. He couldn't offer receipts or take cash. Again he was awesome but he was doing everything with one hand tied behind his back. No one to bus tables so you had to bring the glasses back downstairs. It's an awesome location. Very trendy inside. Great spot to watch the sunset. Five stars for location and bartender....Three stars for the management. There might me some story to justify all that but it seems like they should have been there helping if they are going to leave a one man show like that. read more

Most of the time, I won't post a bad review; I just won't go back. In this case, I'm would say this is not a horrible place to dine. The food did not bake me or my wife barf, but it wasn't as good as the other reviews claim to be professing. Makes me think they have friends that are Yelplers? Anyways, the environment was pretty cool, sitting up on the rooftop - Great views. We were seated pretty quickly. We had just left the Thai restaurant downstairs because they seated us and then forgot about us. So it was nice getting seated quickly. Here is why I probably would not go back. I don't like to pre pay and pre tip for this kind of food service. The whole point of tipping is to give a gratuity for good service. I like to be generous, but I don't like to find out that I was generous to someone who didn't even earn a tip! I'm quite sick of the whole "entitlement" tip! At the Imogene, the servers are of the same mentality of Uber Eats. All they do is deliver what you ordered on your own phone from a QR code on the table. This is the worst type of service I can think of. Basically, you are your own waiter! I got the Jambolaya "bowl". They had a smaller serving called a "cup", I hate to see how small that was, because the bowl was a very shallow 5" bowl. I know, there are starving children in other countries.. The food deliver guy was nice and not snooty, but if you want more to eat or drink, I guess you have to get your phone back out and order more! If you need more ranch on your salad, your screwed - can't get that ordered on the ole phone! I would also just suggest that showering and dressing professional would help. He looked like he should be working at a brewery. Back to the portion sizes, I left hungry and was thinking about the pizza in my fridge back at the hotel room and some beef jerky from the beef jerky guy. The Jambalaya was dry and sticky; the rice was kind of chewy, like when you don't know how to cook rice, but you're "like oh well it all goes to the same place anyways." Oh, and where's the meat?? At least the pizza in my fridge at the hotel has some meat on it. Overall, restaurants in Ouray are struggling to find help. I realize that there is a shortage of workers because of what the pandemic caused to this industry. This restaurant and others that are on the Western Slope have had to hire from a pool of people that don't have experience or training on how to make people feel welcome to their restaurant. They need to be taught that they need the customers more than the customers need them. read more

At first glance this may seem like a fun eclectic experience to have a drink on the rooftop bar. However, don't. be fooled by the sign that says open until 9pm. At 8:30PM We walked up 4 flights of stairs to be greeted by a sour toned waitress telling us they just did last call and we couldn't get a drink. I asked, since it's last call could we just get a beer, she replied NO. As we joked about her taking last call orders and how much fun the town used to be she told us good luck. Listen folks, once again, we're out vacationing, spending money and experiencing places to either go or not to go for you. Don't waste your time here as it's not worth spending your hard earned money on. Head up the street to the west and you will find inviting friendly folks who will treat you well! read more

We visited the Imogene Rooftop Bar last night. The ambience & live music were wonderful. That is why I'm giving it 3 stars instead of fewer. They were out of lettuce so no Asian Chicken Wraps, Wedge Salad, or lettuce on the Kobe Burger. Burger was advertised to come w/ caramelized onions...nope. The Barbacado was awful! Tiny portion for the price ($17)--not even half an avocado, small ice cream scoop size of dry & flavorless Barbacoa. Avocado was also VERY al dente. Our server was polite and friendly. Went to the rooftop because thought would be fun and a great view. Took four flights of stairs and view was great!! Our two drinks were bland/boring and went told the bartender/server she made no attempt to offer to give me another or make me happy. She gave attitude about the prices being high because it being a tourist town, laughed and stormed off. The menu sucked and wasn't worth it. She also bashed the restaurant next to them. Ive worked in hospitality and I know you need to try and offer the customer a way to make them happy. I know it was going to be expensive because the town. The bad part is she gave attitude and the drinks were not worth drinking!! Word of advice, tourists won't spend their money at your place with how you treat them....even if it was cheaper. AVOID!!!!!! (Unless want to just see the view and then go to the Goldbelt for much better food, service and price.) read more

The external stairs didn't bother us. Room was cute, & we had planned to come stay here again in April until the Whiskey Bar turned into a full blown drunken party with screaming & laugher you could hear through the brick wall. Doors slamming for hours finished off the disaster. We came to Ouray to hike, not party. And we planned on actually sleeping not listening to drunks living it up. We texted the caretaker with our complaint & asking to cancel our stay for April. We got a text the next morning saying "We'll take your feedback under consideration". Basically giving a big middle finger to our issue. Makes you wonder if the caretaker was part of the party or money the bar makes is more important. read more

Horrible service. Looked liked a great place for a drink but my sisters and I arrived in to town late and wanted a quick meal before going up. Ordered some food from the store below then went upstairs to the bar to secure a spot and order a drink before last call. Explained we'd be right back up to have our drinks after our quick bite, which they would not let us bring up. When we arrived back to the bar, we were very rudely lectured to about how he (the bartender) " has a life too" and had waited for us but drank our drinks since he thought we weren't returning. The bartender was very surly and embarrassed us. I will not return and would NOT recommend the place. read more

By a strange twist of fate, Brickhouse was completely booked up and we meandered across the street to find out what was happening up on the rooftop. A row of bottles visible from the street lured us in. We lucked out and scored the last two-top on an incredible rooftop overlooking the town and surrounding majesty of Box Cañon. But that wasn't even the best part. The Imogene is a brand new restaurant and had just opened a week prior. And holy gastronomical win! We tried the mussels, artichoke and lamb skewers and they were all fantastic. Service was also excellent. Make sure you try this place next time you're in Ouray. read more

My girlfriend and i decided to have a weekend away in the beautiful town of Ouray! My girlfriend picked out this adorable little spot. The room was beautiful and very clean. Rich was super accommodating and very welcoming. There was always a fire going in the main area, comfortable and warm for the chilly weather. The rooftop patio was closed due to the snow they just recently got. However, the Whiskey Bar was open 6pm-9pm, and each night we had plans to end our night with a drink, however never ended up making it. We will absolutely be back, and will hopefully be able to enjoy the rooftop and check out their menu. Thanks Rich for being so warm and welcoming, we will definitely be back! read more

The drinks at the lobby bar were perfect after a cold day ice climbing too. We could not have asked for a better end to a cold day--drinking a whiskey next to a crackling fire! Last year, I loved the food at Imogene. Unfortunately, whether due to COVID-caused staffing shortages or a strategic choice, when we visited last week we found that the menu was significantly shortened and much less creative. All of the dishes I loved last year are gone, and the menu now features simple and unoriginal bar food. Still unchanged: the spectacular views, the creative cocktail offerings and the friendly and chill staff. You've got to love a place where the kitchen staff is listening to New Orleans second-line brass band music and the bartenders are listening to Phish. As a bar, this place rates 4 stars for sure. As a restaurant, sadly I would say it's now "meh" - 2 stars at most. read more

I am really shocked by all of the rave reviews of this place. The chef is clearly talented and the place is really a nice venue. They have a nice indoor area but weren't seating at it. We waited for a table 45 mins and then were told that there was a table but it was in direct sun- a better table would be ready in 15 mins. They then had a better table ready in an additional 45 mins, but tried to convince the two of us to sit at the bar. Which was kind of strange. We didn't want to sit next to eachother at a bar we wanted a table. The menu is 3 pages of alcoholic beverages and one page of food. It's not really a small plates restaurant or an a la carte restaurant. It's essentially really "fancy" entrees that are expensive and very small. They don't really have appetizers or starter salads or soup or sides. So we just each got an entree- it would be weird to get two entrees as I am a small girl that doesn't eat much. The one salad option was $13 for a few slices of tomatoes with fennel and vinegar. Didn't seem very exciting or worth the money. I got the gnocchi and my friend got the prawns and pork belly. As we ordered we did ask the server his opinions- he said the gnocchi was delicious but "small". I bet on small since I always have leftovers and how small could it be for $16? It came served in a small bowl that wasn't even filled. It came with nine pieces of pasta and a sauce with a few small pieces of braised meat in it. Like small shredded pieces maybe 1 oz total if I'm being generous. This is the type of thing that would be served for the same price in DC at a place where its small plates and the waiter recommends 2-3 plates per person. But this is ouray and the margins can't possibly be as bad... that's not even one piece of pasta per dollar. Potatoes are cheap so charge another two bucks and double the pasta. My friends dish was average prawns delicious pork belly and lackluster dollop of greens in a vinaigrette. We were both starving! Unfortunately the kitchen was closed because they close for a couple hours between meals. They were clearly ready for us to leave before we even ordered and we felt rushed to leave. Between the two of us, we spent $150 on two "entrees" and 3 drinks each plus tip. Left hungry and had to cook dinner after our 1.5 hour drive home read more

This place has a great view... like the rest of Ouray but the food is mediocre at best, thrown in a basket and a glass of wine is $12. Do NOT eat here. Food was subpar, reminded our party of diner food, but our tab was over $100. No one ever came by to bring more water to the table, and we paid a tip up front before the food even came. Go for the view not the proportions. I'm giving 4 stars instead of three because I'm hoping since they are a new restaurant they are still working through their growing pains. The view on the rooftop is amazing and is probably the best view of any restaurant in Ouray. However if you are hungry after a long day in the outdoors don't expect to fill up here. They need to clearly mark their menu for which items would be better for tapas and which are entrees. Even the entree my husband says wasn't quite enough. I ordered the gnocchi and was so disappointed when I got my small bowl of 7 gnocchi. I was starving after a long day and that didn't cut it. They also seemed rather unorganized when it came to keeping track of who was waiting for a table and required you to wait in their inside bar area to keep your spot on the waiting list. BEWARE: Stay away on weekends - both Saturday and Sunday. The restaurant across the street, The Gold Belt has VERY LOUD LIVE MUSIC! Really great rooftop, beautiful atmosphere. Fantastic cocktail menu and wine selection. Our meal was one of the best I've had in a long time. I got the lobster roll, my boyfriend got the trout po' boy, and we split the nicoise salad. The desserts were above and beyond. If I could give higher than 5 stars I would. read more
