I had never been to a chiropractor before and honestly was a little nervous--I'm not someone who even cracks my own knuckles! But from the moment I walked into Dr. Balch's office, I felt completely at ease. Dr. Balch is incredibly patient, kind, and professional. He took the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand, which made the whole experience much less intimidating. I appreciated that he didn't just treat the issue, but also gave helpful suggestions on what I could do at home to better improve my posture. The office is very well-organized and the entire process--from check-in to treatment--is smooth and efficient. Dr. Balch is hands down one of the best chiropractors I've ever been to. He's incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and takes the time to explain everything clearly. Every session isn't just a quick adjustment and out the door; they go all in. I've been a patient of Dr Balch for a very long time. My spine has always had an S curve. Over the years adjustments helped keep my spine straighter. Intermittently I would come in for tune-up adjustments. Dr. Balch recently told me of a new option, it's called Focused Shock Wave Therapy. It administers a painless sound wave to get blood flowing in the injured area and help cells recover. With age I've have had increasing pain and thought there's nothing to lose. In fact after the very first treatment, pain relief that lasted. It's a hand held non-invasive, precise & targeted application of the shock wave from the apparatus just where your problem area is. I've come in several times now to see Dr. Isero. I've had consistent pain in my left hip for the last couple of years now and as a new, nursing mother, I've developed new aches and pains in my upper back and carpal tunnel in my right wrist. Dr. Isero's adjustments have significantly helped my pain management and it's a couple of weeks before I need to go in again for another adjustment. He also has good bedside manner and makes conversation throughout your visit so you have a very comfortable experience. There's parking in the private lot in the back. Appointment times are flexible, and it's always been easy to find a time that works with my schedule. I'm in and out in about 20 minutes with each of my visits. During the pandemic, the staff has been very diligent about making sure safety standards are met, including enforcing mask wearing and providing hand sanitizer. I've felt very safe coming here despite us being in the middle of a pandemic. read more

Very flexible hours, but one of the worst offices I've ever been to. The office is very outdated and the equipment seemed very old. The adjustment table was always dirty and I would have to wipe it down myself. One red flag. Dr. Balch was very kind. He was very busy, so it seemed like he didn't care much about his patients. I had to remind him several times that he cannot use the TENS machine on me due to medical reasons. Another red flag. The front office... They are so unorganized and they hire a bunch of younger employees. One of them was wearing a crop top and told me I would get an itemized receipt at the end of my appointment. She told me about 3x that she would have it printed out, but admitted she didn't know how to process it. Another receptionist was giving one of the doctors a lot of attitude and screaming at the front. I've witnessed two of them arguing in front of patients. Just dealing with front office staff was a headache and such an uncomfortable experience. Another red flag. Sammy, one of the assistants, was incredibly kind. He gave the BEST therapeutic massages. Back in 2019, I experienced a tremendous amount of pain on my total left side due to a punched nerve in my upper back region. On a scale from 1 to 10, I was experiencing a 9. I've had this before in the past, so I thought i'd waited it out until it goes away. Two weeks later, the pain got worst. Went to see my primary physician at Washington Hospital in Fremont. We took X-Rays and an MRI. Found out I have cervical spondylosis on upper regions C2-C7. The pinch was at C4-C5. So, my primary doctor prescribed me some pain meds and 3 weeks of Physical Therapy in the month of November 2019. I went to 4 sessions a week for 3 weeks with my Physical Therapist. The pain was still there after 3 weeks. I remember I was popping pain meds like candy just for the pain to go away even for a short time. After my 3 weeks, I decided to go outside the spectrum from my primary physician and see a chiropractor. In the month of December, that's when I discovered Alliance Chiropractic in Milbrea. I live in Fremont, so the commute was a good 45 minutes away. I got in contact with the front office and they were so helpful and professional in setting up my first appointment. Got to the office and that's when I met Cheryl and Stephanie. The greeted me with all smiles, helped me with my insurance work, and we're very professional and helpful with anything that I had a question about. Being that this was my first appointment, I was a little nervous. I met Dr. Dennis Balch in the waiting room as I talked about my experiences with my primary physician, physical therapy experiences, and my past of being an athlete. Being the profession and experienced doctor he is, he knew exactly what he needed to do in order for my pain to reside and be eliminated. He vividly explained to me what was happening and what was causing the pain within me. He then explained to me the procedures of what he was going to do to help me. For the first week of December, I went to see Dr. Balch for 3 days out of the week for 3 weeks. Mid fourth week of December, my pain was completely ELIMINATED !! I remember calling the staff and talking with Dr. Balch with relief and excitement. I couldn't believe it as I had no pain on my left side while being totally mobile. This brought me back to 100%. Since then, i've been scheduling monthly office visits just to keep up with maintaining my adjustments and keeping up with my health. I've been coming here for the past 7-8 years over a dozen of times. My experience with Dr Balch has always been positive. I've found the muscle relaxer particular helpful (I have at least 6 massages a month but I've found the muscle relaxer work deeper into muscle so I like to mix acupuncture, massage and chiropractic adjustment as they all have their pros and cons) I would like to particular point out their staff Sammy (Sammi ) who is very patient , gentle and very good at the pre adjustment massage. Dr Isero...is a merical worker!!! Seriously,,,,,,,,,!!!! I thought I was having a heart attack with heart pulsing between my rib cage 7 xs a day for 2 months ever since I fell out of a raft and went 1 mile down a Costa Rican River! Om...lord. I came home and the heart pulsating would not stop. Alsmost to the emergency 4 xs..but held out. Got over 75,000 worth of tests and Drs appt. (thank god for Insurance). Then one day I was staging a house and I could not withstand this...the reator said go to your chiropractor if may help. So instead of going to hospital...I made apt with Dr Isero..he ajusted me...and I have not had one more experience of the fluttering heart fell between my rib s. It is unbelieveable. I saw Dr. Jandial a few years ago for "neck issues" (which years later I learn was a misdiagnosis for chronic migraines). Anyway, my posture also sucks because I'm on a desk all day and don't stand up straight either. Dr. Jandial put me on a neck cervical traction device for several months, with increasing "pull" on my neck. I complain it hurt and he assures me that "It'll get worse before it gets better". I continue to go, with some sessions pulling my neck to the point tears come out of my eyes because of the pain. All the while he assures me, "It'll get worse before it gets better". I stop going because this isn't helping me at all. Since going here: 1. I can no longer sleep on my side due to neck pain. 2. I can no longer do exercises like sit-ups due to a weird pain and clicking that happens with my neck. 3. Other neck-affecting exercises like ab crunches are extremely touchy (i.e. I can only do the partial movement due to neck clicking and pain). Every few months I ask myself if I should sue for malpractice. If you do decide to go here please make sure you're seeing progress; don't be an idiot like me and continue to go while it gets worse. read more

I don't know where my review went for this place. Let me explain what lead me to seek chiropractic services. At the time I was feeling sharp pain shooting to one side. I work as a nurse and it's not a very forgiving job. Dr. Isero assessed me for my sciatica, and scheduled sessions to alleviate the pain. Now I come in every month for my maintenance. I have referred family members here and they love him. I have been going to Dr. Isero for many years now, and will continue to do so. Wonderful bedside, funny, and personable. Dr. Balch has been working on me the past two months now. Initially came here for pain. Since I've been coming my symptoms have decreased. He did an assessment when I first became a patient and listened to what I liked and what I didn't like from previous docs. I definitely recommend Dr. Balch. Some of the staff are simultaneously attending school so they have been quick to provide education around my questions. The thing I like about Dr.Dennis compare to other chiropractor I have been to it's because he uses this water jet pack on the back that stimulate your muscles. Parking is pretty easy to find. I wish I would have made an appointment here sooner!!! I was referred by my primary care doctor to this office, specifically Dr. Balch. The referral meant a lot to me. I had been fearful of going to see a chiropractor because I didn't know what to expect. I'm so glad I went! I had been battling back pain and having my back go out periodically for more than a year. I am on my final day here (day 5), and can say I found the relief I was expecting. I can walk greater distances, stand straight up without the stabbing pain I had for four months. Ive tried Physical therapy for my chronic back pain - its good but not good enough for me. I dont regret going to Dr Balch, at first i was like Whoaaa!! , its like permissive wrestling w/o inflicting pain of course ..but the key to liking the therapy is just to let yourself go.. stay as limp as u can be as he twists your neck, clicks ur back, twists ur entire body. its good to read first about it so u will know what to expect. If u want deep thai massage, deep pressure and streeeetching like yoga -- then this is the therapy for you. TENS usually before every treatment and at times , if the doctor recommends , an hour massage -- and if u have insurance, u just have to pay for ur co payment . in my case $5. =) Come in pain, leave twisted yet happy. read more

Let me start by saying that I have used chiropractic care for years, with great success. That's why I gave the recommendation to my father to seek out a treatment when he was experiencing severe back pain. In this case, however, Dr. Dennis Balch simply showed a great deal of arrogance and did not listen to the patient, resulting in additional injury. My father went in armed with all of the information that would be needed for accurate treatment.. MRI, and specific movements that made the pain significantly worse. Not only did he not look at the MRI, after my father asked him to and even provided it in advance of the appointment, the doctor continued to proceed with the exact movements that my father told him would cause the pain. Needless to say, he hobbled out of the appointment in twice as much pain and hasn't been the same since. To add insult to injury, my father simply asked for a follow up call from the Dr, which he never received. He didn't have the courage to face an 80+ year old man even over the phone. This has been an extremely difficult time for my family, and extremely concerning from a healthcare provider perspective. Please keep this in mind if you choose to go with this provider. read more

Not very positive experience. I have been there for about a year and I don't feel the doctors there care about you at all. They see me as a walking Benjamin and not a patient. In and out 5 mins. And didn't even provide the care that's include in the procedure. Often time the doctor will leave me with the stimulator for 20 mins and totally forgot about me. I saw Dr. Jandial after I suffered a pinched nerve in my lower back (it was as terrible as it sounds). I called and about 30 minutes later, I was in an exam room being interviewed by Dr. Jandial. After taking note of the parts of my back that were most painful, he began to make adjustments to my back to help with my body's alignment. A few cricks there and a few cracks there...I started to feel better already. I gingerly left the building and followed his advice to strengthen my lower back muscles. I regularly came back for more visits and drastically felt better after each visit. Be sure to mention new areas that feel sore as the pain tends to drift to other places as your body tries to compensate for weaker areas. Dr. Jandial will get you feeling back to normal in no time! Overall I am very happy with the care I have received from this practice and Dr. Balch in particular. I like that they provide the muscle stimulation and wet heat to help with specific pain areas and strains. They take flex spending cards and I love that I can schedule online. I have to deduct 1 star because no matter how many times I mention it, one adjustment that is normally done crossing the patient's arms and going back is VERY painful on my shoulder and has to be done differently is always attempted the traditional way. I have to stop the doctor every time when he tries to do it. I like that they have a parking lot because street parking disappears fast with Millbrae BART is nearby. read more

One hour. That's all we had to deal with, and in reality, it wasn't even really that long. What I mean is that these folks are literally open for chiropractic services for one hour on Saturdays from 9am to 10am. Could seem a little silly if you think about it, but most chiros aren't even open at all on Saturday. So when my wife was in terrible pain this morning, it was off to Yelp on my iPhone to do a search on "chiropractors saturday". Pickings were thin, but at the top of the search results was Alliance Chiropractic. After a call to them and a call back, we rushed over, hoping we could be given enough time for my wife to receive a treatment. We certainly were. Dr. Balch was really great and helpful. He could see how much pain that my wife was in and got right to work. As of tonight, she is still hurting, however after his treatment and subsequent icing and rest, she has improved. Another appointment is scheduled for Monday. Dr. Balch is not going to be our regular chiropractor as we already have one that we go to in Foster City (Dr. Colgin), however, we are grateful to him for having that space for us open today so that my wife could find some relief. I highly recommend Alliance Chiropractic and Dr. Dennis Balch to anybody who seeks chiropractic treatment. After throwing out my back a few times I finally started to look for a good chiropractor. My dad, and a few friends have been using Dr. Balch for awhile with great results so I started going soon after that. Found this place from Yelp and the reviews are true. This place is AWESOME! I've been to many chiros all over the Bay Area for the last 14 years. I was torn about writing this review. If this place gets super busy then I won't be able to get my preferred appointment. But they are AWESOME and I must share them! What to love: 1. They are open 5 days and week and Saturdays by appointment. Too many places I've been to are frequently closed. Get a stiff neck and have to leave a voicemail and wait for someone to call you back to let you know they can fit you in in 4 days time. No thanks. 2. I'm being treated by Dr Balch. He has never adjusted me cold. Lie down...crack! It's very hard of the body when they do that. Here they warm up the muscles with heat and stimulation treatment before an adjustment. 3. This is the secret. I really really don't want to tell you! I've been going for 4 months now and only just found out....there is a massage therapist on Wed & Friday mornings! Today I got a heat treatment, followed by therapeutic massage (to soften me up cause my back was like stone) then the adjustment. Ahhhhhh. It was amazing. If I start having trouble getting appointments on Wed's and Fri's...i'm taking this review down!!! FYI you can also pair your adjustment with proper massage. I have been coming to Alliance for close to 3 months. When I first started to receive treatment, i was at a 50% with pain in my lower back. I had pain when i exercised and when i did lifting around the house. I can now say that I am at 100% with great results. I am now able to do my exersices without issue and can now move around the house without issue as well. My doctor was Jandial was very helpful in explaining the process and walked me through any issues i would have had. I would suggest anybody who is looking to start treatment to ask for him. He is very knowlegable in this field as he explained going into the treatment and kept me informed of what was going on. They are very nice there.
