Terrible personal trainer! Just because my sister and I was only 15 MINS late, he claims that we had invaded his other client's time. He said that training sessions are for 45 mins, we began at 2 pm. And just because we were late, he told us to just take videos of each other doing the previous exercises for the rest of the time. I admit we had our wrongs about this which was, to had schedule at a time we assume we were able to make it to. I'vee been a patient of Dr.Cheung since 2008. He's a wonderful chiropractor and personal trainer. So far, I lost overall 20 lbs and gain my health back since I gave birth to my son in 2008. I became a half marathoner which I never thought I could. It's all from the motivation I got from Dr.Cheung. He wouldn't just make you sweat to lose weight. He will motivate you and make you use your own brain, get to know your own body because nobody knows your body like yourself. At first it feels like hard but in the long run, it will benefit you to be self-motivated. I don't get the bad review I just saw from 2 days ago. That person doesn't seem to know how to tell time. Dr. Cheung has been such an amazing influence for me, and especially my mother. My mother first started seeing Dr. Cheung in 2012. At that time in her life, she had little energy and found it difficult to get out of bed/ move, largely due to back pain amongst other physical ailments. However, after beginning to train (and receiving chiropractic corrections) with Cheung, she has lost weight but more importantly, has regained her energy and motivation to be active. Her back pain is all but gone, and she is able to do many of the things she struggled with before (i.e. lifting a bucket of water). In fact, I find her to be too active nowadays! But the main point is, for the return of her youth and mobility, I truly cannot thank Dr. Cheung enough. When I had training sessions with Dr. Cheung, he always gave me his full attention for the full allotted time. In any instance he happened to be distracted with something else, he was sure to make up for it. Although I no longer train with him, I continue to work out at his gym (way less busy and crowded than the normal gym!), and he still gives me tips and advises me how to do exercises correctly. Even if he's with another patient, he'll focus on them and then run over to help me before returning his focus to his patient. He really cares for everyone's well-being, regardless of there being any monetary gain or not. For those of you who may be having second thoughts due to bad reviews, I highly recommend that you give Dr. Cheung a shot (or a second chance if you were the one with a bad experience). He manages this business largely by himself, and he does the most that he can. I will point out that from my personal experience, Dr. Cheung mirrors the energy and focus that you bring to the table. Your health is a two-way street. He is here to help you, not coddle you. Lastly, everyone who is friends with Dr. Cheung can vouch that he's a wonderful and selfless person. I just recently finished my treatments from Dr. Cheung. I've been to a few chiropractors, and they all used to scare me because I hated the sounds of the adjustments. I'd go once and swear to never return. I expressed my concern and fear with Dr. Cheung at my first treatment, and he assured talked me through every single step so I wouldn't get scared. I was nervous about adjustments for the first couple weeks, but I eventually got over it. Along with treatments, he made me work out in the little workout room next door. Let me tell you, I used to work out before..but I've never worked out as hard as I have in the past couple months. Thank you Dr. Cheung. Rewind five months - I'm on the phone to schedule an appointment for imagining of my lower back. I've been struggling with lower back pain off and on for years. In the past few months, it steadily worsened to the point where I had numb toes, tingling feet, etc. Alarming to say the least. I'm not in the best shape, but not too bad either. Wife and friends all went to and still go see Dr. Cheung so I figured I'd give it a go. Set up a consult, "adjustment" and some time in his training gym (adjacent to his office) to improve my stretching methods. I'll spare you the clinical evaluation he gave me (which was spot on from my gangster lean while driving, to staring down at my mobile all the time, to slouching, and hunching while I walk..... What I liked about him was his step by step approach. You can't go changing everything in a week he told me. One thing at a time. We: - Set up a stand-up workspace so I can split my time 50/50 in the office standing and sitting - Twice daily simple stretches to loosen up hamstrings (that were more like guitar strings) - Be aware of my posture and make adjustments - Modified my exercise routine to include more core and more flexibility - Returned weekly for a couple of months for an ultra sound, some kind of TENs system, and adjustments and retraining on stretching etc. It was not easy. Stretching hurts when you haven't done it for a decade. But overall I'm 95% better than I was before and still working on it. I never did go for imaging. I don't think I need to. I was convinced I had a slipped disc or something. But Dr. Cheung disagreed. Said he was certain it was muscle related. Sure enough, he was right. Great doctor. Great guy. Always engaging conversation. Always on time. Adjustments feel fantastic. And he is a wealth of information. Always researching, sharing, etc. I'm hesitant to share this with the Yelp world as it might be harder to get an appointment with him. Have pain? Need a new exercise routine? Go see him. read more

I'd like to start off by saying I have not even been to this chiropractic office so I cannot attest to the quality of care by the chiropractors but based on reviews, he seems great which is why I wanted to give this place a try. My review is based on the fact that I called in a few times on a Friday afternoon (during listed business hours) to check for appointment availabilities on the weekend but no one answered. I left a voicemail for them to contact me hours before their listed closing time but received no response. It has now been a week & I've still not heard back. I've been seeing Dr. Richard Cheung for years and he has helped me recover from a lower lumbar spine injury, foot and knee pain, and shoulder pain. I'm a Ballroom dancer so my body can take a toll from a lot of repetitive movements, but Dr. Cheung works and resets my body and I always feel better after getting worked on by him. I've had back issues since my early/mid 20's. My back would spasm every 6 months or so and at time's, I'd be laid up for close to 2 weeks until it "healed". I've been on natural treatments, muscle relaxers, etc. I went the last 8-10 years without anything MAJOR happening except a few months back. I recently moved back to SF and just my luck...my back had a pretty bad episode. A HERNIATED DISK, to be exact =(. Literally crooked, really bad pain, trouble sitting, trouble standing, and sharp shooting pain. Normally, I'd do what was needed and just rest up...however I had a long time planned trip that I desperately needed to be better for and a herniated disk was not the news that I wanted to hear. I found Dr. Hindocha on yelp of course...and I am EXTREMELY HAPPY that I did!! I underwent spinal decompression ("The Rack" I call it). It's a table that stretches you out to assist with the pressure in your spine, at first it looks intimidating but the results are simply AMAZING. I did a total of 9 treatments and was back to new right in time for my trip. I kid you not...I went on a hike that included some mild mountain climbing, did two full days of Disneyland walking, rides and standing as well as a full day of Universal Studios. My body reacted well to the treatments, so don't get me wrong...what works for me won't work for everyone, etc. I've found that I may need a "tune up" of one or two treatments here and there throughout the coming months, but given all of the treatments that I've had at other chiro's the spinal decompression is the best and of course Doc's treatments as well. If the table isn't for you...they have also have a Roller Massage Table. Doc and KK will definitely take care of you. They're super friendly and know what they're doing. read more

Dr. Richard Cheung at PCC is one of the best chiropractors I have been to. He doesn't just adjust you and send you out the door. He really takes his time to examine my spine. And treatment includes much more than just joint manipulation. He uses ultra sound, heat, e-stim, and deep pressure massage on my muscles. He has also personally designed an exercise program specific to my condition. All I know, is when I follow his advice, work out and get adjested, I feel great. He takes my insurance too! Dr. Cheung is awesome. He's restored my faith in chiropractors after some bad past experiences. He's a physical therapist turned chiropractor so you get the best of both worlds. He adjusts you and helps you strengthen your body that help you get better and avoid further injuries. I went to him because I was in so much pain that I was walking around the house like Quasimodo and couldn't get to sleep every night because every position hurt. Going to him really saved me. He was friendly and knowledgeable, listened to my concerns, did a thorough exam and explained to me what was going on without talking down to me. I love the treatments, at first he did electrical stimulation, heat treatments with the ultrasound machine, tissue work and chiropractic manipulations. He explained it all and taught me exercises to strengthen my body to help my back problems. I really felt a difference after our very first session - I was no longer hunching over and could do normal daily activities again! Don't get me wrong, I wasn't 100% right away, but every visit has been noticeably bringing me closer and closer. I'm now doing exercise sessions with him in the gym next door followed by chiropractic manipulations. He really works you out, but is very careful to make sure you know how to not hurt yourself. I messed up my back playing soccer one night, and did it right before I had to move the next day. Bad timing. Worse yet, it was on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. I didn't think anyone would be working. But Peninsula got back to me, and got me in right away. I could barely walk and had been awake all night. Dr. Cheung took over 2 hours with me to make sure I was at least mobile and on my feet. I moved (which I shouldn't have) but because he knew I was doing this, he came in on SATURDAY (of a holiday weekend) and saw me again on Tues. What dedication and professionalism. Simply amazing...I was never truly a fan of chiropractors - I'm one that says, give me the drugs, make the pain go away, and I move on. The previous one I visited presented me with a 2 year get-well plan, with payments that rivaled orthodontics to cover both my kids. But this office was different... My wife has been a patient there and got the office to squeeze me in after I tweaked my back while moving things around the house. I got there after a long drive from Mt. View, fortunately I had our nicer SUV, with heated seats that helped the pain. Richard had me move my legs/limbs in various ways asking about pain, pinching, etc. After a few movements he was able to determine that it was simply a muscle issue, not spinal and proceeded with treatment. Felt much better after that and about 2 days later, all was well. What I took away from that visit was not only getting past the issue at hand, but he taught me ways of simply getting up that would induce less stress / pain, exercises that would build that part of my core, basically sustaining my health. All I gotta say is the Best of the Best. Dr Cheung is the most honest, straight-forward and knowledgable chriropractor in the bay area hands down. Without his help, my stature will be around 5 o'clock, the big hand at 12 and short hand at 5. I was so jacked up, I thought I was done. I was diagnosed with a herniated disc with L4-L5 nerved damage, the freakin pain was so much that all I could do was laugh when I went to see Dr Cheung the first time. Went through the whole Kaiser (final determination back surgery that's after they gave me an epidural shot made it even worse)...(hell no, no f*ing way, they do not know what they're doing)...accupunture/accupressure(wasted my money)...some two bit acting chiroprator who handle my accident case some ten years earlier (not only did it not help...he almost killed me with traction treatment...) To make a long story longer...I get to his office, he looks at me and says "You're in really bad shape, no promises but I'll do my best to help." Three months, lots of pain, rehab and adjustments, I woke up one day and could stand straight again. Unbelievable... When I started going to this center I began getting taught prevention techniques through exercise and stretches.
