And generally just wasted my time with unprofessional front desk, experience and lengthy paperwork that I did not receive a copy of. I don't think I would recommend remedy medical group to anyone based on how they treated a new patient. It just wasn't ideal, and I felt dismissed as a patient. I was told the wrong time to be there, acted as patiently as I could, but ultimately, I was unable to receive any meaningful care from their facility. Luckily the doctor squeezed me in for a 10 minute intake, before really making sure that she made it to her next appointment on time. It didn't feel thorough nor did it feel like my issues were actually of concern..... I was referred here to take pain management consultation. Which turned out to be nonexistent, because I was scheduled with the wrong doctor after triple checking with the staff. This was not a good use of my time, but the place was very clean and looked nice from the outside as well as the inside. Great interior lighting. But that's really not what you're looking for in a medical office. The furniture is sort of irrelevant, just like a backdrop to what is actually the purpose of the business. The scheduling staff here needs better training so that patients don't waste their time like I did. 2/5 adding a star just for the furniture.

I went to seemingly every kind of doctor, including Stanford Pain Clinic, but still the pain kept coming back and ruined my quality of life. Finally I found Dr. Perry and went to see him. He examined me and we talked for a long time. I was impressed by how much he cared and listened. Dr. Perry gave me some medication that immediately got the pain under control. In subsequent visits, he monitored my progress and suggested various ways to avoid aggravating my condition. After a while, I was able to go on a small dose of a maintenance medication, and live my life generally pain-free. I am so grateful to Dr. Perry for showing me a way out of the terrible pain I used to suffer from every day. From time to time Dr. Perry has seminars about pain control. These are really useful. Also he recommends other therapies that can be used to help heal old injuries and reduce the amount of medication required to get a good result. If you are hurting, do yourself a favor and make an appointment with Dr Perry!

It's a slightly run down building that is a chiropractic office. That's fine, but there is no mention of Bay Area Pain Relief on their door. Just that's it's a chiropractic clinic. In terms of the ultrasound, it's the same type you can find at any chiropractic office. Nothing special in my opinion. I don't understand why they don't have an updated address or even the offices name online. I was a bit sketched out. They also don't answer the phone. It just felt like some kind of trap or trick advertising. The one positive is the the Doctor of Chiropractic was able to answer my questions honestly. I imagine he is a good chiropractor.

I had plantar fasciitis for 15 years and had tried so many things to relieve my foot pain (various…read morepodiatrists, many different shoe inserts, physical therapy, even acupuncture) -- nothing brought lasting relief. I heard about shockwave therapy but my primary care doctor at Kaiser said "oh, there's no evidence that works." Finally I decided to check it out anyway-- I saw that Bay Area Pain Clinic offered a free consultation, so there was nothing to lose. Dr. Shiva examined my feet and general spinal health. He assured me that the treatment would NOT make my foot condition worse and would likely help (and possibly cure) it. He was easy to talk to, reassuring, compassionate, and realistic. I learned that this treatment is commonly used in Europe (sadly, unless a treatment benefits the pharmaceutical companies, it usually won't be evaluated -- and therefore will never be officially approved -- in the U.S.). Dr. Shiva gave me realistic expectations about how many treatments I'd probably need to undergo and how frequently. I was so eager for relief, we did my first treatment that day since he had an opening in his schedule. The treatments do hurt, as the sound waves from the ultrasound probe break up the scar tissue from years of chronic inflammation. But in each painful spot on my feet, as he held the probe there, the pain would quickly dissipate to a tolerable level. I started feeling relief the very next day, and I only had to go twice a week for a couple weeks before we could back off to once a week. Within a month I was no longer having nights when I couldn't fall asleep because my feet were aching so bad. I would wake up without the tightness and deep ache in my arches I had felt virtually every morning for 15 years. Dr. Shiva adjusted me at each visit and gave me supplementary tools such as great inserts and supportive tape. Jennifer, his client support person, was always helpful and they were always available if I needed to come sooner because of a breakthrough pain episode. I felt very supported in the healing process. I urge anyone with plantar fasciitis to go in for the evaluation. Dr. Shiva will honestly tell you whether shockwave treatment is likely to help. It might seem expensive at first, but it's actually pretty reasonable compared to other treatments -- and to me, getting out of chronic pain is worth spending a little money! My only regret is not doing this sooner. It is amazing to wake up every morning and go to sleep every night without terrible pain.

As someone coming from China, it's not easy to convince an elderly family member--especially with traditional Chinese thinking--to visit a doctor, but the pain had become too much for him. Dr. Ou Yang was very patient and professional. He performed a thorough initial examination and quickly identified that the pain had spread from the neck to the shoulder area. He then treated my uncle with massage, cupping, and acupuncture. After the first session, my uncle said his pain was relieved by about 70-80%, which was a huge improvement for him. Because of this positive experience, my uncle was willing to return for a second visit--something that truly speaks for itself. We are very grateful to have found this clinic, and I highly recommend Dr. Ou Yang to anyone looking for effective pain relief.

I made the decision to start seeing Dr S due to some lingering post surgical pain that is not fully controlled with my (marvelous) osteopath in SF. I had noted how much that Dr S cares about each of his patients even before I started going there, and now that I am a patient here, I can see that this is definitely the case. My pain level waxes and wanes usually according to my work schedule ( work exacerbates the issue), or sometimes it can worsen (like 5 levels of intensity higher) from one day to the next for no apparent reason ( frustrating!). Dr S, Carrie, and Anne have all accommodated me when I have been in pain 'crisis'. I appreciate Dr S's multidisciplinary approach to pain management, he doesn't just glance at your chart then throw heavy duty narcotics at the problem. I have opportunity to recommend Dr S at my work and I have recommended him MANY times to people who are currently seeing other practitioners and are not improving at all or are in constant severe pain. I have yet to see if anyone will take me up on my recommendation. I feel that Dr S has been another 'godsend' to me. A few weeks back, I drew a depiction of where a severe pain flare-up was taking place in my neck, wrote a detailed note about the situation, and faxed it to the office even though it was the day that they are closed (Wed). Dr S himself called me that night, from home, to check on me and to squeeze me into his schedule for the upcoming Friday (my next day off). Not too many doctors provide that level of personalized care anymore, and I appreciate it tremendously. I'll point it out again-Carrie and Anne in the office are just as empathetic, helpful, caring, accommodating, and kind as Dr Schoenberger himself is. One small caveat-you may want to make sure that Paragon Paincare accepts your health insurance or is an in-network provider when you call to set up an intake appointment. He is 'out of network' on my plan, so it is a bit costly, HOWEVER, Dr S and his staff do everything that they can to ensure that I don't 'break the bank' by going to this office. In summary, Dr S has great rapport with patients, he uses a collaborative approach (collaborative with the patient, at least in my case)in coming up with creative solutions to keep me out of pain and keep me able to be working full time. He is also extremely knowledgeable, caring, and easy to get along with. It's never 'fun' going to any type of doctor, but Dr S, Carrie, and Anne go out of their way to make their patients as comfortable and calm as possible. I would recommend Dr S to anyone whose pain is not being adequately managed by their current practitioners.

I have visited many different types of specialty physicians over the years due to exercise/training related issues and found Dr. Schoenberger to be very innovative and advanced with his treatment. I walked into the office that day having not slept well in 10 days due to pain and left feeling confident I had been given excellent care, a thorough examination, and treatment that allowed me to maintain my normal daily activities! Dr. Schoenberger cares about his patients as people and not just another face.
