We finally decided to give Alley Oops a try and honestly... we were shocked at how good the food was. You never expect arcade food to come out at this level, but everything we ordered completely exceeded expectations. The fish and chips were fantastic. The fries were crispy, well seasoned, and addicting on their own, but the real star was the fish. You get two thick pieces of flaky cod that were fried beautifully with a crisp golden coating that stayed crunchy while still being light. We also ordered the filet medallions and shrimp entrée and were seriously impressed. The steak was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, while the shrimp were cooked perfectly with a bright, savory seasoning that made them stand out. Everything sat over a bed of flavorful rice alongside a colorful vegetable medley of carrots, peppers, and green beans that tasted fresh and well prepared instead of like an afterthought. The atmosphere was also really fun and unique. It's honestly nice having the restaurant, arcade, and bowling all under one roof because there's constantly energy around you and plenty to do. The only downside is that you can definitely hear everything from the arcade area, so it can get pretty noisy during busy times. What really made the experience stand out though was the service. We had a gentleman named Collin who was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely down to earth. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, helped guide us toward great choices, and even gave us awesome recommendations for other places around town to try. It was refreshing having service that felt so personal and welcoming. For a place known more for games and entertainment, the quality of the food truly blew us away. Definitely one of the biggest surprises of our Ocean City trip and somewhere we'd absolutely come back to eat again. read more

We had an okay experience at Alley Oops. Our server was friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated. However, it was strange that we were seated without any problem but then told we only had two minutes to order because the kitchen was closing--something we weren't informed about beforehand. The table was clean, but the music was so loud it was hard to hold a conversation. When we placed our order, I asked to add cheese to my burger and was told that was no problem. We were also offered a choice of sides, but when the check came, we were surprised to see several upcharges that were never mentioned. The food itself was tasty, though it felt overpriced for what we got. The food is overpriced, stale, and mediocre at best in flavor. All I wanted was some good chicken wings post bowling domination. Did not receive. The service, however, was EXCEPTIONAL, so I give credit where credit is due. I visited a lot in 2021, and there were two regular staff members that were so sweet and attentive, I genuinely felt like I made two friends. Has promise. It's the same owner and almost same identical food menu as in Ropewalk. If Ropewalk has a long line, stop on by Alley Oops. Granted it's the same atmosphere, but the video games are a hit with our little ones. Not as many games as say the boardwalk, but it's not as crazy as the boardwalk either. The food mirrors the same as Ropewalk. It's not the greatest and nothing to write home about, but it's dependable and not too terribly expensive. Service can be sporadic, ie, can't find our waiter after our food is served, and getting the bill can be a challenge. Make sure to ask the bill when you think your family is almost done eating. Really wanted to enjoy this place but the bartender appeared to be on something.. forgot to give us our order, was calling a girl on speaker phone behind the bar and both were using lots of profanity and saying he'll beat her around my kids? My family and I stopped by on a Tuesday while having a winter vacation in Ocean City. It just happened to be half off bowling so I think we got a pretty good deal. There were 6 of us and we showed up right as the venue opened around 4 pm. We were able to get a lane right away. I was expecting the traditional bowling alley but these were smaller pins and bowling balls. My wife ordered us the funnel cake fries which my family shared and enjoyed together between games. The place was easy to navigate for purchasing game points and exploring the other attractions inside. It was a nice way to cap off the trip before we headed back home. read more

My mom at fish tacos def could've spared some fish, it came with chips but if you paid extra you could get fries which should be an option. Now to the games. I've gone to both locations in both Uptown and Midtown. Cannot say I was impressed with both, but Midtown is far better. The food always takes too long for what you get - everything is dry and tends to be bland, especially the sandwiches. The arcade is geared towards a younger audience, so young children will have a blast. The bowling, games, and virtual reality are all overpriced, especially the virtual reality. There's a small selection of games for the price. It's always incredibly loud, and the waitstaff is consistently very slow. Definitely a skip in Ocean City. This is a fun and delicious spot for family fun. We're in Ocean City enjoying the off season before it gets crazy, so we needed some things to do while eating good food. Alley Oops offered a variety of food, drinks, arcade and bowling. For a family of five we spent about $200 with two beers included. We had Jerk Chicken, salmon, fish and chips, Cajun chicken pasta and a kids burger. We also indulged in crab dip and fired pickles for appetizers and desert with chocolate my pie, root beer float, kids ice cream scoops and funnel cake fries (my personal favorite). The jerk chicken was a little salty for me and spicy for my sister. She cleaned her plate of the salmon entree. The rice that came with both dishes was seasoned well and delicious. We had mixed veggies as a side also that was decent, but nothing to write home about. The Cajun pasta was flavorful and cheesy. Also a tad spicy. Fish and chips were flavorful and came with tartar sauce that my nephew didn't use. The fried pickles came with a horseradish sauce which will definitely clear up your sinuses. The crab dip came with pretzel sticks which were by FAR the star of the show. The crab dip was cheesy and creamy and the pretzel sticks were perfectly warmed and soft. Our servers were attentive, recommended personal favorites, while also telling us about their popular dishes. The arcade and bowling alley made it easy to have dinner and fun with the kids after. While we waited for our food, our daughters watched in fish/sharks in the large tank. Our food came very quickly, and the service was prompt. We ordered the chicken tender appetizer, jerk chicken quesadilla, and grilled chicken sandwich and enjoyed them all. Ocean City is known for their orange crushes, but I tried the grapefruit crush - it was delish. After dinner, adults can enjoy drinks from the bar while kids play arcade games. We love this place! It's up the street from where my parents live, we visit frequently. So far, the wings are good, we get buffalo and they're always a good side and not overcooked. I've had their cheesesteak roll that goes perfectly with their pepperoncini aioli. Tried a bite of their rockfish tacos and it was fresh and tasty. We always sit at the bar for happy hour (they have 2 different times) and love when the garage doors are open. Bartenders are always nice and attentive. One of the few spots you can still go late night in OC anymore. Lots of good drinks and plenty of room to move. We have been coming to this spot since they opened and have always had a good time, but you will pay a premium price for that fun. Drinks are more expensive here but it's worth it for the atmosphere. I can't speak to the food, but I heard a rumor that AO is somehow affiliated w Ropewalk meaning the food should be decent in theory. Came here and was able to get a table by the bar. It was super crowded and super annoying to order from. I finally was able to order and got the surf and turf tacos with tots. Idk why but the tots were an extra 2$. I also got a blue moon. It was like 26$ for the whole meal which I thought was expensive especially when I got my food. There was so much Cole slaw in each taco with a small amount of shrimp and short ribs in it. Like really ? For 19$ ? The short rib was dry and the shrimp needed more seasoning. Prob the worst meal I've had all weekend on vacation but you cant expect much when it's more of a bowling alley/arcade. i don't want to say this but i'm going to kitchen is same old kitchen i worked in when it was tokyo seafood buffet, when the pipes bursted & i , another person had to check on it for past owner. they didn't really change much or do anything they don't clean down the machines like handles all that to prevent germs or making other ppl who are sick & who aren't so your kids can enjoy a fun kid freezone to game enjoy it even though its a knock off of boardwalk before the boardwalk my family generation use to live in this area before it was all sand mostly no boardwalk. Food is super horrible & fryer machine is still the same old one from tokyo seafood buffet they didn't really clean the fry out much or have safety cleaning around the oil fryer after its cooled off non flammable. All menu items is super unhealthy, bartender was talking about his life about being on coke, older manager guy there was perving on the younger girls sometimes apparently says inappropriate stuff which isn't uncommon in server girl service but its not recommendable but still ppl will make there choices to go there or not. This place is stimulus overload, but in a good way. You walk in, and it's games, bright lights, and screens everywhere. To avoid the distraction for my nephew, we decided to go upstairs to eat on the patio. Be warned that only a few tables have umbrellas, so until the sun goes down over the horizon, it can get unbearably hot in the summertime. Food selections are surprisingly unique for a combination arcade/restaurant. The crab dip tots are good, but H-E-A-V-Y. The riptide salmon topped with crab was good, but nothing extraordinary. The green beans were really good. The sesame tuna (more like seared sashimi) was surprisingly spicy, and the best thing I had. They also have cocktails, beers, and a ton of different crush variations. Also, if you order a water, you'll get a personal pitcher with a straw. Back downstairs, they have a few short bowling lanes (bumpers available). In terms of games, they have basically everything. Connect Four basketball is always a favorite. They also have claw machines. Tons of different car/bike/ride games. Grab a reloadable play card at the machines at the front and go to town! The cards also make it easy to redeem your "tickets" for prizes. They have a pretty good selection of prizes at all point levels. There's also a bar inside where you can order drinks, but each person needs to be there to show ID, so you can't buy a round. Went to try this place, it's December so it wasn't super crowded. Got a table quickly! Service was quick and fantastic! The kids really enjoyed the games, I will say I like the card and the point system, so much better than managing quarters and tickets, and I also felt their games were less points than places like Dave & Busters which was nice! The food was decent, nothing to write home about, but not bad. The kids meals were $6 I think, and they have a fun shark slushee drink for kids for $5. I agree with other posters about the food being over priced for what it is (my Cesar salad with salmon was $22) but this place is definitely more about the experience than the food, and most food in OC is over priced. I can't imagine how crowded the gaming area will be in the summer! The gaming area was fairly crowded this weekend when we stopped in! read more

I so wanted to love, or at least like, this place BUT unfortunately I didn't. It's just like all the other arcade/food establishments. Overpriced and underwhelming! We had been passing this place for three days straight prior to deciding to visit. The only reason we went is because the sign in neon lights advertised "shark feeding Tuesday, Thursday, and ... at 5pm!" Well when you're vacationing with an 8 year old that sounds like a great time, right?! Well, we were wrong! When we arrived (about 4:56) it was no wait and we were immediately seated next to the fish tank, even better-right?! Again, wrong! Only for us to look over at the bottom left of the tank there's a tiny sign displaying their "sharks outgrew the tank and patrons were welcome to visit there other location until they get new sharks." Like, are you serious! Why advertise something you don't have. Now to the food, dun dun dun...basic bar food that is overpriced. Again, not the establishment it advertises to be-the claim to specialize in seafood! HA-that's hilarious! They have just as many seafood items as most restaurants in OC that don't claim to specialize in seafood. Just because you have crab dip, crab cakes, old bay wings, a fish taco, and the like-does NOT mean you specialize in seafood. We are in OC for goodness sake, most restaurants have many of these items as menu staples. We had a $60 bill for basic bar food and that included a kids meal. The kids meal was an $8 cheeseburger with French fries, it was served on a take home "Alley Oops" frisbee-no drink included. My 8 year old ordered the kids blue slushee which came in an "Alley Oops" color changing cup- $4. We also ordered the seafood quesadilla and a Tsunami Burger. The seafood quesadilla was $19. Barely any shrimp and crab to be found. Idk if they were running low on inventory or their truck hadn't come in for the week but not worth $19 at all (see pic attached). Trust me, I know what a seafood quesadilla is supposed to look like. I'm from Baltimore and I know seafood! Lol. The portion to price ratio at Alley Oops is very disappointing. Oh, they also add an 18% gratuity to checks; which isn't an issue, I think it just sucks for their servers because you're cheating your waiter/waitresses out of their 20%(+). The arcade had a few games and that's it. Chuck e Cheese and Dave and Busters definitely have 5x's the games than this place. Also, the bowling-a joke! Don't think you're going here with a group for a fun night out of bowling. There's only 8 tiny virtual duck pin lanes. The dining and bar area consume most of this establishment NOT the arcade/bowling area-that speaks volumes. To sum it up, it was a BIG OOPS going to Alley Oops. They overpromise and under-deliver. OC has needed an establishment with this concept and of this caliber for years but Alley Oops just isn't it-it falls short for me! If it wasn't so expensive for the mediocre bar food (at best) then it could be worth it, as it provides something for people to do indoors on those super hot or rainy days. It was our first night in Ocean City and this was one of the only spots opened. We had a great time and the food, drinks, and games were great. COVID polices were enforced. We wore our masks anytime we were not eating or drinking. It was not crowded at all. We had our own section by the bowling area. We played a few games of bowling, the kids played the arcades and won a few of those stuffed toys. The food was yummy. We had a bunch of different things. The funnel fries and chocolate cheesecake were my favorite. We ordered double of them. I also had a few Shirley temple mimosas which were delicious as well.
