Delicious sandwich options, fast and friendly service. We loved the pesto grilled cheese and apple Brie. Fries were tasty and generous. Salads were small but good! I love their mission and the dream lab next door, and their support of social justice causes.

Haven't been to their restaurant but was lucky enough to find their food truck at the neighborhood brewery. So fun; great service, with a smile and a whopping delicious grilled cheese jerk chicken sandwich. Just the right amount of heat and extra tasty. A must try; next time I'll visit the restaurant. With great owners with awesome attitudes and living life with gratitude and joy you can't lose. They tell me they will be at the Viking games. SKOL

All Square had been on my list for years, and I'm glad I at least know I can go back to get through the winter. It's not a massive menu but all of the grilled cheese sandwiches and sides are a hit! On top of that the staff were truly some of the kindest and most welcoming staff I've ever seen at a counter serve restaurant. Can't wait to go back!

Craft grilled cheese for a good cause- how can you say no? I love the premise behind this nonprofit and the food is pretty good. You get fun preset topping options for grilled cheese . The French fries are crispy, and the tomato basil soup hits the spot. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. I went on a nice summer day and got to take advantage of the beautiful patio but there are some indoor seating options as well. Lots of free street parking available in the neighborhood as well.

Loved, loved, loved my Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese! I went here with a couple friends who were visiting. The weather was perfect, so we took our dog and sat out on the patio. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and the decor was nice. Love their mission! Employment is a hurdle for many people who are formerly incarcerated. I love that they specifically employ formerly incarcerated individuals and focus on restorative justice. The fellowship program is beneficial not only to those in the program, but also to the community as a whole. Can't say enough wonderful things about this place. Go check it out if you haven't already!

Johnny Tsunami Sandwich

A little gem in the busy food scene if Minneapolis. Excellent food, customer service and mission, friendly ambiance. I am OBSESSED with the Johnny Tsunami and Jerk chicken sandwiches and don't get me started on the fries! The lemonade is also excellent and I'm even impressed with the salad. I hate pickles and I genuinely enjoyed their pickles!

I opted for the standard buffalo toss and did not regret it. It's not cheap, but for the quality and quantity I think it's worth it. For me it was plenty for a lunch without any sort of side. I got a house ipa to wash it down and it was decent but not my fav. My friend had the smoked Rueben sandwhich and enjoyed it. Service was good, ambiance on the outdoor patio was nice, and overall had a very positive experience here.

We decided to eat at Northbound for dinner on a bustling Independence Day Eve at 7PM. Walking up to…read morethe restaurant, it seemed like there would be a small wait, but luckily for us, a table just opened up as we walked through the doors. Even with how busy the place was, I didn't find the service to be too slow. The food took about 10 minutes to come out. Cheese Curds ($12.50) - Interesting curds. They're covered and fried in a leavened waffle batter, which gives a more airy type of crisp on the outside. It's more robust than normal cheese curd batter, but has that lighter and softer waffle crunch. The texture inside is right in between being soft and gooey but has enough firmness for a slight squeaky behavior. I actually don't prefer this texture - I massively prefer one extreme or the other, either completely squeaky, or completely softened and melted. The curds are all separated with some mini batter nubs spread around for extra crunch. The curds comes with a ranch dip that has fresh herbs in buttermilk and for some reason reminds me of thousand island in taste. (4/5) 18-hr Porketta ($17.50) + Fries Upgrade (+$2.50) - This is a very simple sandwich with Northbound's famous 18 hour porketta, some Swiss cheese melted on top, and finally some softened sliced onion in a brioche bun. The porketta is essentially pulled pork and is lean with basically no fat. It's seasoned well with a good fennel and spiced aroma The flavors are quite pronounced and while the pork is relatively tender for the cut, some fat would do some major justice. The fries are mediocre. They are clearly hand cut and fried in house, but they are a little underfried since the interiors are firm rather than fluffy and they are floppy in texture. Meh. The porketta comes with a sauce that's fruity, tangy, and acidic. It's surprisingly great for the cheese curds since the curds are so heavy and fatty. (4/5) Overall I found the food at Northbound to be good enough but nothing particularly outstanding. I certainly don't think it was worth the 45 minute round trip drive. but I wouldn't mind eating there again if I happened to be in the area in the future. Came here for a date night, I got the Broiled Miso Salmon and one glass of wine and my partner got the Steak Frites and a coke. Our bill was $95! Ouch. The bad: If it were really really good I would be willing to pay for it, but I felt that the flavors in my dish, in salmon, carrot ginger sauce, and cauliflower, were whispering at best. I think the cauliflower could have used a sauce or been crispier, it just seemed boring and soggy. The steak and fries also came out cold :( my partner really knows his steaks and was not impressed, it was over cooked for medium rare and it had clearly been sitting too long. Not worth the $38! The good: The space itself is decorated really well, it's pretty dark but the theme comes together really nicely. I personally enjoyed the indie/pop music they had playing and it wasn't too loud. I really enjoyed the Chardonnay ($16) and they had a decent selection of wine but only a handful were by the glass. You can get glasses of by the bottle wines if you commit to getting at least two glasses though which is good to know. For me, the service really saved this review, our server was so nice and friendly, attentive but not overbearing. I would maybe grab a drink and an appetizer here sometime but will definitely hold out on dinner again until their prices chill or the food gets better. ‍ TLDR: Too expensive for the food quality

What do you get when you combined dill pickles and fried chicken? Heaven…read more If you are a fried chicken (and pickles) lover, you definitely need to try out Bull's Horn, a cozy local joint Minneapolis has to offer. You cannot go wrong with any of their entrees but I'd always go for their chicken basket to share with friends, and a side of fries. Their chicken is coated perfectly with dill seasoning, crunchy bread coating is coated nicely and the meat always comes out juicy and tender. The fries are also lovely and they always pair nicely when eating chicken. 5/5 recommend.

I live less than a mile from the Bull's Horn Bar, and the family finally decided to check it out…read moreduring Sunday's Nokomis Day celebration. Wow. What a great dive bar. Today the place was packed due to the festivities, and the parking lot was transformed into a large patio with a DJ, a small bar area, and an outdoor bbq that was slinging burgers, 1/4 pound hot dogs, tots, and popcorn chicken. There was also a meat raffle going on as well. Since it was pretty hot out, we decided to get a seat inside. The seating for today was largely communal to accommodate the large crowd, and we found a seat for the three of us. I went outside to get a smash burger, 1/4 pound hotdog, and a basket of tots. The wife stayed inside with the kiddo to order some drinks. The food cooking outside took tickets ($5 a ticket) and 5 tickets were bought for the food. Not a bad deal in my book. The food took under 10 minutes to get, and the cooks were working the fryers and flattop grill like pros. The smash burger was a nice size, came with cheese and grilled onions, and was on a brioche bun. The hot dog was a nice size, and the tots were plentiful, hot, and crispy out of the outside fryer. Run of the mill condiments were also available, and serve yourself. The wife said the smash burger was better than I make, and I make a pretty damn good burger. While we were eating, I totally felt the dive bar feel, and had the feeling this was pretty much a local bar hangout. Supposedly it's been around for over 70 years (with a name change). After eating, we went outside to see if we could win some meat in the raffle but didn't get lucky. We will come back though. Evidently every 4th Wednesday they have another meat raffle at the bar. The good news is the kiddo won a huge cake on the cake walk contest! We will definitely be back. I want to try their fried dill pickle broasted chicken. Time to eat some cake!

Great little local spot in Saint Paul…read more There's a lot to like about Estelle so I'll try to keep it to what stands out: 1. The menu is wonderful, and the food comforting. The peri peri chicken was surprisingly spicy. I like spicy foods and it was teetering on a bit too hot for me, but I enjoyed the flavors and the dishes as a whole that we sampled. 2. The cocktails are divine. I had two old fashioneds and they were amongst some of the best I've had. 3. The service is impeccable. Friendly, well paced, and professional. 4. The ambiance is really comfortable. I liked that we weren't rushed, and had a really well paced meal in a nice environment. Overall I'd love to return someday. If you go be sure to make a reservation!

We were seated right away based on our reservation and our waitress was a gem for bearing the heat of the patio with us. I got the grilled asparagus, the piri piri chicken, and the ginger cake. Piri piri chicken has a bit of a kick to it but it pairs perfectly with the rice and I really enjoyed it. For me, the $55 three course meal was worth the value since I got a few of the pricier items, but for the other two members of my party, the prices were listed on the restaurant week menu and the items they chose when added up totaled as less than $55. They still were charged $55, which did feel a bit odd and we all agreed we would prefer just coming for a normal dinner instead of during restaurant week in the future. Better balance of food that way also. I didn't necessarily need all three full courses and would've been more content sharing apps and desserts. Regardless though-they never miss on the flavors at Estelle!

It had want I wanted for my aunt: an attached parking lot and lots of flat surfaces. It also had what I wanted for a perfect July day: an outdoor, covered patio! Service: When we peeked in the patio, a server said "pick any table you want, i'll be back with a basket." There were maybe 10 tables. The "basket" had silverware, napkins, menu and the QR code for ordering. The server explained that we got our own water and could order inside or through the QR. That is always a little annoying to me (Karen!) but the water was full, the food came out quickly, and they checked on us and cleared the plates in a reasonable manner. Food: I order steak salads as my go too and sometimes the steak is tough: not this steak! It was as smooth as butter! Delicious. My dinner companions ate all their food (we were talking and not about the food, but a clean plate is always a good indication.)

Their chicken tinga taco bowl is pretty darn good but the pizza is meh. Today I came and had a glass of Sauvignon blanc and a small house salad with dressing on the side. The wine was lukewarm which, first world problems right? But if I'm paying $9 for a glass of white wine, come on bro serve it chilled. The dressing came on the side but they omitted the croutons and roasted pecans for some unknown reason and there was a small black hair at the very bottom. Plus you have to serve yourself water, no one checks on you, you submit your order via an app (not a problem I just don't see expecting a twenty percent tip for near non service despite society moving that way) and no one asks, hey is your salad shittier than expected? They don't care. Lol. Patio is cute though.
