I had a very wonderful experience with All Makes and Models for my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I was searching for places to go to what I thought might be a Camshaft replacement. I had spoken to Molly who is the one who handles all the calls and the social media for the company. She told me to bring the car in for an inspection for a free diagnostics charge. I had contacted and visited many places within a few days and most were charging for a diagnostic test. When i had the diagnostics done, Ray was the mechanic and he told me the diagnostics would not see the whole issue/picture regarding the engine/camshaft. I decided to wait a few weeks to bring it in since i would be on vacation at the end of July, 2020. Ray the mechanic told me the range of pricing would be from low to high depending upon the full problem. I left the car their on a Monday and picked it up on a Friday (it was done on Thursday). The problem was one of the small bear bearings within the cam shaft that failed, not the camshaft itself. I saved a lot of money from that and Ray did not charge me extra for additional labor hours. As Molly stated, Ray quoted me a price and he is sticking to that price (very rare to find that in these days). This was also Ray's first time working on this problem. He was very personable, easy to work with and is very knowledgeable in his craft; He seems to me he wants the customer to have a great experience with the company and his services and is true to his word. I was very pleased with the work done and the price. I would definitely work with them once again and would let others know that this is a place to go if you need work done on your vehicle. I love All Makes and Models! They do a great job every time. I use to take my Porsche to the Porsche dealer in Tysons but they never fixed my car. When I would take it in for one thing they would do a crappy job and then something else would break so I would need to take it back. It was incredibly annoying, costly and unprofessional. I honestly believe they broke things just so I could go back and spend more money. I tried other repair shops but was never happy with them. I had similar experiences where they would break things in my car just so I could return to spend more money. That's why I am so happy I finally found All Makes and Models. I am extremely please with their work and am now a customer for life now. I recommend them to everyone I know, including my family anf friends and they are now also customers for life. All the problems that the dealerships never took care of All Makes and Models fixed them for us. If you're looking to get your oil changed and tires rotated for a fair price, I advise you not to come here. I was charged $106 for labor to have my oil hanged and tires rotated. Obscene price, these services could have been done at the dealership for $70 cheaper. They also changed my cabin air filter and charged me for it without my consent. After I explained to Molly that I didn't want it changed (I can change the cabin filter myself without paying $20) she patronizingly said "sorry dear". Not sorry enough to offer any kind of discount. Tim is a great lead mechanic and business owner. Used him for years when a single parent. He also worked on my fiance's car (now my wife) when she and I were dating. I was impressed with 1) honesty and integrity; and 2) quality of service. Funny story: my wife's old van was having issues (for a long time). I asked Tim - what do I have to do to get this van up to par. "Well," he said. "Just take off the radiator cap. Back out your van. Put another one underneath it and put the radiator cap back on!" Good folks that do good work. When I drop my car off here, I always feel I'm getting a very honest and thorough assessment of the car's needs. They get the job done and the pricing always seems fair. Hours are a bit limited since they don't do weekends, but I'm always willing to work with that to get service I can trust. Another local establishment found an issue on my state inspection with a tire locking. Offered to do a $40 diagnostic. Instead, I brought it over here and they said there was nothing wrong. The serpentine belt snapped (which pretty much connects a bunch of things under the hood and allow you to steer etc).. they could have diagnosed the world under there but have already advised me they are going to replace both belts and with parts AND labor....under $100.00 !! I cannot say enough good things about my interactions with this place! My car's idler pulley broke on my way up I 95 this morning. I had to pull over between Newington and Springfield and call for a tow. I searched on line, and found these folks. Got towed there just as they were opening the door. The techs popped the hood, figured out the problem, and ordered the part. They were able to get the part in very quickly (thanks for searching so hard to find it!). The service tech got it installed and tested with amazing speed! I was back on the road and I made it to work only 2 hours late! That is FANTASTIC! Plus, the price was phenomenal! I am torn about writing this review because I'd rather keep this place to myself. The staff here is fantastic, for the most part Tim and Gio have been working on my rinky cars since 2010. Rates are great for the area, staff is friendly and helpful. They've never hesitated to show me or explain any hiccups my vehicles have had and are an HONEST group of pros. Out of the dozens of places I've taken my car over the past few years I've NEVER felt more confident handing over my car to a shop. ( It even has the only "out of state-mechanic father's stamp of approval" A previously thought impossible feat. This was my third time going to this place and will probably be my last. The girl at the desk was new again seems like everytime I go there the previous girl quits, i feel bad for the lady there now because she doesn't know anything about cars and she will quit soon because the manager Tim only yells at them like they are kids (Which is why the other 2 girls quit) The mechanics are great but I took my vehicle there for brakes and they said I needed front pads and rotors, the girl I spoke to I think Stephanie called and tried to explain what I needed but she had know idea what she was talking about but she gave me a price over the phone and when I went in there to pick and pay for the vehicle I see on the ticket that I was charged for Calipers and a brake flush. I wish I would have known that befor i picked up the car that I would have another 300 dollars on my bill then what I was quoted, not to mention that when I picked it up all I could hear was Tim the manager just yelling at one of his mechanics... I would recommend taking your vehicle to somebody who knows what they are talking about good luck if you go here, its not worth it read more
