One star just because it's one of those places that tries to exaggerate issues. For example, took…read moremy car here for an oil change, and they show me a few things. One thing they show me is a minor fuel leak, but then quote the labor just to get to the fuel pump at $1,600, which is absurd compared to the running average labor costs for that. Most places charge a fixed hourly rate for labor, and I called the place I normally go to and they said it would be just a 2 hour job rougly, so $270 in labor compared to their $1,600 quote for labor costs.... LOL. Next, they show that the fluid levels are low then proceed to say they can't top off the fluids and need to flush each fluid for $250 before topping it off. Coolant and brake fluid don't go bad from "sitting too long with low levels." They're sealed systems. So the idea that they need to be flushed before getting topped off is just them trying to upsell more repairs. They did wind up topping off the fluids for me, and everything else was fine I guess, but I just wouldn't recommend coming here unless you want to overpay for labor costs and have them exaggerate certain issues. Glad I only did an oil change here, I definitely wouldn't trust paying the labor rates they quote here. Also, another thing not going well for them, the person that seems to be running the place is rude, so another thing not going well for the place. Oh and one more thing, they only take Zelle which strips you of a bunch of buyer protection that you would otherwise have with your credit or debit card. Go figure why they only take Zelle.... UPDATE: It only gets better... This place put a defect oil filter on the car too so it caused an oil leak. And also, the control arms are NOT bent and there is no fuel leak issue. This place is an embarrassment

The owner is very polite, understanding, honest, and easy to work with. It's hard to find a mechanic you can trust, and we're very happy with the service we received. Replaced the starter in a day and charged much less than general online estimates quoted for that make and model. Installed a replacement interior door handle and let me buy the part to save $$. It wasn't quite right, and they reinstalled it, after a long delay due to personal health issues, and didn't bill me again even though some time had gone by. It works like a charm. Don't be put off by the crowded parking lot and general appearance of the shop. They're crowded because people know they're the best! Due to a Honda recall, I dropped my car off across the street at the Honda dealership. I received a call saying my timing belt was rotted, I had multiple oils leaks, water pump problems, and more! All totaling about $2,900. I promptly called Schmitz's on the recommendation of a coworker and explained the situation. Al assured me that I could bring it by when Honda was done and he would review the quote and give me an honest answer on what my car actually needed. Later that afternoon, I dropped my car off and went over the list with Al. He went out with me to take a look under the hood, kindly showing me that my car doesn't even have a timing belt! The serpentine belt and timing chain were clearly fine. I went back to work and got a call about an hour later with a recommendation on two things to fix now and a couple to keep an eye out on over the next two years. It was fixed by the end of the day. He could have taken Honda's quote and said yep that is all true and charged me just a little less. But instead Al took the time to show and explain, thoroughly "diagnose" my car, and handle it all in a couple of hours. By the way, it cost me less than $500. I will 100% be back when my car needs it.

I was only confused because I know the other usual workers there and I get along with them just fine and they usually let me slide with a few packets of hot sauce, so I was confused as to how this situation was any different. Not only was I treated in a rudely manner but was also shamed in front of other customers over taking a few packets of hot sauce. I genuinely didn't understand that I was doing anything wrong, and I apologized, but instead of calmly explaining the policy, he yelled at me and shamed me. Another customer even joined in, and even after I explained my misunderstanding, they continued mocking me behind my back as I left. Mistakes or misunderstandings should be handled respectfully, not through public humiliation. I won't be returning to this location.

They would surely get that. This is one of three shops I could choose from from my insurance company, GEICO. It was ever so slightly the highest rated. I have no idea why and now I wonder about the other two. How bad must they be?! Ray's is all around TERRIBLE at bodywork and mechanics. In fact, when I got my car back, it sounded terrible. Like I was dragging something underneath. I explained this to them and they told me they put it back up on the lift and went over carefully and could find nothing But you know your car and I explained there was this loud noise when I steered to the right or when I accelerated. I was told it's probably the new tire that was put on the front left and I said "No, I don't think so." Then they told me "Well, they can't drive it on the highway or at higher speed due to their insurance." Long story short, I had to go out there several times and each time they did NOT fix the problem. It's like they don't care about wasting your time, your money, your effort. I was getting ready to go to surgery in New York and having to run out there to deal with this. Long story short, the body work is atrocious. I will have to take it somewhere else to fix what they blotched. The fenders are not clipped properly. The paint is bubbled. A very messy job. The replacement bumper had a long metal piece hanging from it that I guess they cut. I do not like this place. As for the mechanics, it wasn't the front left tire making that noise. The noise was because they failed to find out that I needed wheel bearings on the front due to the accident having broken the casings. Now, if you if you have it up on a lift several times and you don't find this based on the clues I provided you must be very bad at your job. I knew I was getting nowhere with these clowns so I took it to a Subaru dealership. They went over it with fine a fine tip comb and what they were able to find, was the car needed the front wheel bearings. That is what was causing the noise and these people risked my life rather than do a good job. All they did was complain about GEICO. How they weren't paid to get new parts. They had to find used parts and it takes a long time to do that and blah blah blah. Now I wonder how many other customers might be driving around in unsafe cars because Ray's does not do a good job. Please save yourself a big headache and avoid Ray's Auto Body in Vienna. Not only is it the worst auto body shop I've ever been to, but it's the worst place I've ever patronized. Never again.
