The manager told me to wait a minute and rummaged around an old box of parts and produced both the correct bracket and cam. The only thing missing was the spacer which I made from 2 dollars worth of stainless steel washers at Ace hardware. I gladly offered to pay generously for the part, but being a gentleman motorcyclist he declined my offer. Look, common customer service ain't so common anymore, so I wanted to give a shout out to the good guys at MOTOMAX North Raleigh...

I'm just left wondering why none of the sales people will acknowledge me or offer any help or maybe sales assistants .. I'm just left to guess or assume I just don't fit the stereotype of a biker. Definitely a let down on this experience. I was excited because I had my mind set in a particular bike.

They as told that there are $2500 in fees for freight and assembly on an atv. They also will use any slime ball sales tactic you've ever heard of to try and push a sale. Even knowing that I was simply in there for service work. He's got a lot of passion for his job and motorcycles in general and it truly shows. I will be back to him when it's time for my next bike... I also would like to thank Service Manager Mason for his friendliness and great communication during my service visit. He made me right at home and kept me apprised of the status of the work. I normally go to TPS Raleigh because it's much closer to me since I live in Holly Springs. But this is likely my new go to spot for work on both of my bikes. Lastly, I wanted to call out Dan in the Service Department. He worked fast and efficiently. He even came out to talk to me directly about questions he had about whether I wanted my service interval reminders reset. Super nice guy and very pleasant to talk to. Overall I had a very nice visit. I understand the location is expanding. Tripling in size even ! I guess the only hold up to that (as I understand) is possibly the town of Wake Forest... Here's a thought. Instead of expanding or adding to the motorcycle stores in the Northern most side of Wake County, how about looking at expanding in South Wake ? :) I say that in the nicest yet most selfish way. But seriously, we really could use a location in Apex , Cary, Holly Springs or wherever. How about off Hwy 64? I just had to put this out there because there is so much potential on "my side of town". All the riders in the Southern part of Wake Co would appreciate it ! Anyway, keep up the great work ! I'll be back again !

On 12 April 2025, I took my Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled to Garcia Moto in Raleigh for its major…read moreDesmo service. Because the valves needed to be check/adjusted, I trailered the motorcycle to/from so the engine would be cool and I could get it done same day. To check and adjust the valves, the fuel tank had to be removed from the bike. Took it out for a ride first thing Sunday morning. At around 7:30 a.m., shortly into my ride, my legs started to feel wet. I looked down and noted gas spraying from under the fuel tank all around my left leg (spraying because these scramblers have a high pressure fuel pump). I looked up to figure out how to safely get off the state route and immediately felt my legs getting really warm. Looked back down, and flames were shooting out around both my legs. I killed the engine, stopped quickly with the front brake, and jumped from the motorcycle. To be sure I was driving normal highway speeds, on my own, in Eastern NC. No twists and turns or anything aggressive. Called Garcia Moto from the site and left them a voicemail. Also emailed them this video. Having not heard from them by Tuesday at noon, I took what was left to them to see what could be done. The service manager told me that he had received my messages but had been directed by the owner to not contact me--that Garrett Garcia just wanted to wait and see how things would play out. Garrett refused to take any responsibility, ultimately saying I would just have to deal with it. He and his Ducati tech insisted the valve service (which required removing and reinstalling the fuel tank) was super simple and that there's NO WAY they could possibly be at fault. If you know anything about bikes, you know this is not true. There are all sorts of things that could go wrong when servicing a motorcycle, which is why the service cost me over $1660! Even Ducati North America investigated the bike and told me there were no manufacturing defects in the bike. Incidentally, the service required them to also check all fuel lines and fittings, so even if they didn't damage them and the components were faulty, that is LITERALLY THE POINT of the service. Pretty gutted. I'm 39 years old and this was the first vehicle I ever purchased brand new. Took exceptional care of it and wound up with nothing the very first time I let Garcia Moto take care of my motorcycle.

So my father and I went to Widowmaker Custom where I met Hank and Patrick for the first time. We talked about what I wanted to do to a bike, he offered his advice on my plans, and we came up with what was going to be an awesome motorcycle. I found the bike I wanted, bought it, commissioned some work, and the work was unparalleled in craftsmanship and quality! Unfortunately before it could be finished, a man caused me to wreck my beautiful machine. As I laid there on the asphalt with my arm shattered, I called my Dad to tell him I'd had a wreck. 5 minutes after talking with my Dad, Hank Thibodeau was at my side checking on me! That is something that I will never forget and goes well beyond customer service...that's what a friend would do! Long story short, the bike was totaled, my arm required a couple of surgeries, and the court settlement took almost 18 months to get; but I finally got a new bike in August and it is at Widowmaker Custom right now getting some work done! I cannot recommend Widowmaker Custom enough! If you want something custom done or just want your bike serviced without filing for bankruptcy, go see Hank and Patrick at Widowmaker Custom!
