Both the Sales Manager, Courtney, and Store Manager, Dave, were more than helpful and patient with me as I bought my first motorcycle there.

Giving credit where credit is due is great achievement for any business. I'm all in for giving…read morecredit and positive reviews when warranted. One has to work for hard to earn that credit. On the other hand, one has to give warning where lives are concerned, and give discredit where its needed. In this case I'm not a happy camper with Sport Durst Motorsports Durhan NC. I took my Yellow 30 Year Anniversary edition 2005 Honda Goldwing to get the two front shock absorber seals replaced. The bike was in excellent driving condition prior to taking it in for repairs to front shocks. Ok, so the work was completed in a reasonable time, and I received the call to come in and pick up the bike after the repairs. I live 50 Miles round trip from Sport Durst, and yeah, its far.. I paid the $630 charge for the job. For that price you'd expect Sport Durst would do a quality check before sending a bike out. When I got to the bike I immediately noticed there was sloppy work done as there was grease smears all ove the paint on the front of the bike. I started the bike and begin reversing out of the parking space, I turn the steering to the left and my bike starts to rev up high unexpectedly. I turn the steering to the right and nothing happens as that it normal. So I call the mechanic and report that there is something wrong and the bike is totally undrivable. I identified where the mechanic routed the front right brake and excellerator cables in front of the shockabsorber instead of running the cables behind the shock pillar. That explains why the bike was revving up because the cable is now shorter and stretches the excellerator cable causing the bike to rev up. What I asked the mechanic said he noticed something wrong, but did not think that was a problem. He did not tell me or report it or say anything to any one at the shop. I feel that this is criminal negligence, where I could have been killed had I driven the bike on the road. Imagine what would happen if you are slowing down and turn left and the bike unexpectedly revs up. (I don't want to think about that because it is so dangerious. An accident could happen and it's not the drivers fault.) The service guys acknowledged there was an issue and that I had to leave my bike there for another day so they could fix the problem. So, I had to drive another 50 miles to pick up the bike the next day after they fixed the problem. The mechanic told me he it was normal the way he did the job. What is so upsetting and what I find is so negligent, is that I was never told there was an issue caused by the mechanic and after reporting the issue, I got no apology from anyone there. I have lost all faith in Sport Durst Powersports Durham NC and no longer trust any work they do based on this mechanic. What he did to my bike is criminal and hopefully Sport Durst Powersports Durham NC will correct the problems. For the record, the price Sport Durst Powersports Durham charged me for labor was $135 an hour. For the record I've been taking my bikes to Sport Durst Powersports Durham NC for 15 years. What do you think I should do? Should I keep using Sport Durst or move on...? What would you do if your life was put in danger by a negligent mechanic?
