The technicians took the time to explain to me exactly what they were doing and how it would get done. Ultimately, said they would not charge because my dryer vent wasn't built properly and could be damaged easily in the cleaning process. They were very courteous and professional and the carpets were cleaned very well. I was also glad they had next-day availability. One place I called because they had a special going online was not available for 2 months!! I was sent a text through Mytime (some online scheduling service?) that my appointment time was 2:00, when Art called me to state that they asked for a window from 2:00-4:00. I'm not sure if this might be something Mytime needs to improve. So, while the manager was courteous in letting me know they would not be there until 4:00pm, the cleaning of the 3 rooms + 1 hallway took 2 hours, so I had to shift my schedule around a bit. It also took longer than 24 hours for some of the rooms to dry, but it did rain a lot and so it was much more humid during those 2 days. I was also not given an estimate ahead of time, so the price was a little higher than I was expecting (I must have looked at another website for cost estimates). I wish the timing information as well as the pricing could have been outlined more on the website so I would have known what to expect ahead of time. They also had trouble removing what turned out to be stuck gum in one room that I finally got myself with solvent. I should probably add that this was an empty house that I was moving into so maybe the carpets were really much dirtier that I thought, thus the longer time and higher price than I was anticipating. Regardless, I'm glad that I hired someone to clean them rather than trying to tackle the job myself. read more

Hi, First let me start off saying what a great guy Art is. He is honest, friendly and pays attention to every detail possible. He really takes pride in his work and it shows. He showed up EXACTLY on time and even called to confirm his arrival time 45min before arriving. I was initially skeptical of getting a carpet cleaner because many times you do not know who is entering your home, but with Art, I will gladly have him come back each and every time we need a cleaning. Not only that but I asked for extra cards to pass out to family and friends that also need cleaning. The quality of work was amazing. My wife and I rent the Rug Doctor from the hardware store every 6 months and while we thought the carpets looked clean after all the labor we did, they are nothing compared to how our carpets look after Art left. I have a massage therapy company called Chicago Touch. We have two stacks and do multiple wash-loads per day. The dryer vents accumulate lint which gradually become a fire hazard. In fact, we one of the vents ignited by summer of 2012 even though the vents had only been installed in October of 2010. Once it takes an extra 10 minutes to get the same amount of dryness as a year earlier, you can assume that it's beginning to be a fire hazard and of course it's already wasting fuel. I wouldn't even rate this one star if I could. When I initially spoke with the Art (the owner) over the phone regarding my main issue (cat urine on basement carpet) he assured me that they were able to get out the smell and stated that it would be guaranteed and that he stood by his word. So when he and his crew arrived I showed him the area and emphasized that my only concern is just getting rid of the urine smell. After they finished, the entire house reeked of very strong ammonia from the cat urine. He said that was to be expected since they used enzymes and chemicals to try and pull out the urine from the carpet. He also said they would probably need to return again in about a week to repeat the process. I was advised to fan the area for about 24 hrs and the smell would dissipate when the carpet was dry. He once again assured me that he and his team would return at any time until the smell was resolved; no matter how many times it would take. Even though he was very convincing about his work ethics and guarantee, I asked Art to handwrite this statement on my receipt; which he did. Well, one week later the smell still permeated the entire house (3 floors) so I tried to contact him to schedule another appt, but I have yet to receive a return phone call. What kind of customer service is that? Don't lie about being honest and your "100% money back guarantee" if you are not going to stand by it. I basically threw away the $110 for carpet cleaning because the urine smell is even worse than before. All they did was bring the urine to the carpet surface. Thanks for nothing. Hope you feel good about being a crook. You should have just admitted you couldn't achieve the results you expected instead of taking my money and running. read more

This review is late, but this is the place to get your carpets cleaned. I met Art as I was leaving for work and he seemed very personable, which is a very important aspect for me. I didn't get a chance to see the work in action as my fiance did, but to see the carpet like it was when I returned home was nothing short of amazing. Art and his guys came to clean up our house yesterday. I had two stairs and a small basement to clean with a Berber light colored carpet. There were no stains except mud traffic on stairs and landing He started cleaning and called me in middle saying to look at stairs. I pointed him a few stains but since he was already doing did not point all of them. When he was done and went to basement. I noticed a couple of spots. Nothing big I thought when he would come up I will point this to him. When he was done with basement too I pointed it to him and he said they were not there when he cleaned them before. and somebody must have walked on them. I told him that nobody went on them which he did not agree to and basically called me a liar. I mean how can someone's fresh walking create old mud stains and that too on vertical portion of stairs. Then he asked me to check the basement. I saw before entering from the staircase that there were still stains on the carpet. So I called him and showed him from far cause otherwise instead of just accepting his mistake which anyone can make he would try to put blame. He cleaned up but still kept on repeating that somebody walked on upper stairs cause he had checked it thoroughly. If he was so thorough how did he miss basement stains? I mean really quit blaming and accept your mistake cause I would have understood somebody missing few spots. He cleaned the spots except 2 which he said were deep in. He said if I did not want I could give him even 100 instead of 112.5 which we agreed on. I gave him the full amount and pointed it to him that I did not want to keep his money but his attitude is terrible of calling the customer a liar. He still kept on arguing that why did I not pint to him when I first saw. I told him I thought he was still doing it and did not want to interrupt. I mean ideally he should have called me when he was all done instead of calling in middle. Anyways the basic carpet looks clean yet it feels sticky to walk on and also has a funny kind of smell and not a fresh clean smell I am not sure why. I never had this problem with Sears. Sears may miss a couple of spots but the carpet felt and smelled clean always. read more

My wife and I live in a 2-story, 110 year old home. It was completely renovated about 12 years ago prior to us moving in. A lot of construction took place. Large amounts of construction dust and particles got into our HVAC system and duct work. Additionally, we have many four-legged "children" who shed continuously. Needless to say, we suspected our HVAC and duct work needed a thorough cleaning. Symptoms: We have central air conditioning. In the summer, I noticed that the central A/C system would kick on in the morning and almost never shut off until after sundown. It would run continuously all day long. The worst part was that the house never felt cool enough for my liking. Of course, the inefficiency of the HVAC and duct work caused the central A/C system to really run up our electric cost. Before considering the duct work as the potential problem, I mentioned to my wife that we might be looking at replacing the central A/C system to the tune of about $3,000. They surveyed the entire duct work system and threw themselves into their work. They worked all day and tore into every duct with very effective mechanical (rotating) brushes that shook loose all the embedded debris. Then they vacuumed all the duct work clean and clear. Afterwards, they sanitized all the duct work. They even disassembled our static air filtration system, washed it, cleaned it, and reassembled it. They cleaned up perfectly before they left our home. You wouldn't have even known they were here all day. Results: After Art and Javier completed the HVAC and duct work cleaning we turned the central A/C back on. To my amazement, I could feel air circulating in different locations of the house that I'd never felt before. I also noticed that the house cooled down much more efficiently. For the first time since we've lived here, the central A/C system actually cycles on-and-off the way it's suppose to. The incredible thing is that it'll cycle for only a few minutes and that'll drop the house temperature by the requisite 2° or so necessary for the thermostat to shut off. It's truly miraculous! I'm willing to bet that our electrical use for central A/C is going to be about 1/4 the cost of what we were spending in the past. Recommendation: If you are experiencing poor air flow and/or the lack of heating or air conditioning in your home, you need to call Art and Javier of All Brite Carpet & Duct Cleaning.
