Recently my car needed a check and the air level was so low they told me I needed a new tire. I went for it since I was nervous about continuing to drive on the tire with it being that low and they said there system couldn't even add some air. The tire exchange took about 2 hours, we waited inside. The air pressure line had been VERY long that day (longest I've ever seen it) so we'd also had to wait an hour prior to the tire change - they normally close at 6, but that's when they "close the door," they'll finish with your car even if it's after hours. We drove away close to 8pm. Overall, I've had pretty good experiences here, really appreciate the air checks over the years.

The car did not come with a wheel lock key so they had to break the originals off and did all this without marking the rims. They even called out a minor inside dent on a rear wheel which did not affect the balance but they wanted to call to my attention. I was then planning on re-coating everything with spray enamel paint and clear coat to save on costs before regaining my sanity, throwing in the towel and deciding to seek the help of seasoned professionals. After doing the research I should have done before I started, I learned how much more durable and better looking the results would be with professional sandblasting and powder coating so I started looking for a service in my area. Thats how I found Capital Powder Coating, and boy oh boy am I glad I did. This was my first experience getting anything powder coated. Aside from being extremely professional, communicative and dedicated to their craft, Gary and Jenny are both very lovely, kind and helpful by nature. They were so friendly and patient answering any and all questions I had about the process. They explained everything in depth, helped guide me in deciding on color and finish and even went as far as working with me on great price. Jenny helped with the initial quote, kept me updated on everything with texts and was always quick to respond when I texted. Gary picked-up and delivered my items himself and helped carry everything to and from my back yard. It was instantly clear upon delivery that they put the time and care into stripping and coating my items as if they were their own. I'm thrilled with the results and the quality has exceeded my expectations. I cannot recommend Captial Powder Coating enough. They will forever be my first call as new projects come up!

It's a small place but seems quite equipped to manage a lot of car issues, and the gentleman who did my inspection that day (Charlie) was the sole person doing them, so he was cranking through a list of folks. They put your name on the clipboard when you arrive and just go straight down that list. I'd called beforehand to confirm their hours and theyd advised to come early so I came around 9a or so. I think the wait was about 15-20 mins? Really wasn't bad, I just fiddled with my phone and sat in my car. The actual inspection was also pretty fast, like 10 mins or maybe even a bit less. I appreciated the efficiency. Of note they do charge a 3% credit card fee. A lot of places do that nowadays, but that was really the only "surprise." They also offer a basic inspection ($12, basics to renew car reg) or a more thorough one for $18 where they check your wipers and lights etc.

Unfortunately, after my most recent experience, I can no longer recommend this location. I brought my 2006 Hummer H2 in for A/C repairs and an oil change. During the visit, I was charged $210 for a basic engine air filter. I questioned the price because it seemed unusually high, but was simply told, "The price is what it is" by Johnathan. To verify the pricing, I had a male friend call the South Austin location with the exact same year, make, and model of my vehicle. They were quoted $139 for the same engine air filter. I also called other automotive shops, and their prices were significantly lower. I contacted the regional manager to ask why there was such a large pricing difference between locations. He reviewed everything and confirmed that I should have been charged $139, not $210. He agreed the Cedar Park location overcharged me and approved to refund the difference. When I mentioned what the regional manager had told me, the technician, Jason, decided to insert himself into the conversation between myself & Johnathan & argued with me in the reception area in front of 3 other male customers saying something about being cheap. while Jason was arguing with me about price I asked Johnathan did you not say the $210 was for a "basic engine air filter" which he would not answer. To make matters worse, after paying for the A/C repair, my vehicle still was not fixed. There is now a loud humming noise, there is little to no airflow on fan speeds 1 and 2, and only limited airflow on speed 3. I now have to take my vehicle back for additional repairs because the original repair was not completed correctly. Since I refuse to go back to this north location I will have to travel an hour away to get my AC fixed. To his credit, the manager who was in lunch while this was happening walked in at the end & we spoke outside. He handled the situation professionally. He refunded the air filter overcharge, reimbursed me for the window switch repair that I chose not to have completed, provided $30 additional compensation for my inconvenience to drive south & sincerely apologized. While I appreciate how the manager resolved the financial issues, the experience at the Cedar Park location was unacceptable. No customer should be spoken to or argued with in front of other customers, especially after a pricing issue that management later confirmed was valid. As someone who supported this business for years and referred many people here, I'm disappointed to say I will not return to the Cedar Park location while that technician Jason is employed there. I sincerely hope management addresses these issues so other customers do not have the same experience.
