I bought a duckie pool thermometer two days ago…read more I went to check the temperature of the pool today and found the duckie thermometer had an issue! Frustrated from the pool heater breaking down and having to rely on the solar blanket to heat the pool, I returned the thermometer for a replacement. Z who was so sweet, kind and patient with me two days ago, questioned the thermometer that I was returning. He felt it was an old one! I became indignant and appalled that he questioned its age when I had just purchased it. Yet, graciously, he exchanged it without anymore inquiry. I left hurt and mad that he even doubted me. When I got home, my husband who was in the pool with my 2 year old grandson, asked me why there were 2 "duckies" in the pool? Horror set in! I asked him what he was talking about? He pulled up two duckie thermometers! The blood drained to my feet! I realized I had picked up an old thermometer that had probably got stuck in the skimmer basket and got dislodged when the pool guy was here today? One I thought had disappeared from the pool for months!! I immediately called DPM and spoke to Z. I offered to return to pay for the replacement!! OMG!! He was so gracious and told me I didn't need to! If I had no use for it, I could just return it!! His kind gesture simply assured me of basic human kindness and understanding!! He did not make feel embarrassed at all!! I will continue to advocate for this business!! Thank you Z!! This was truly a humbling experience!!

The first time we came in was told they were two or more months out on service . Therefore we Called another company who came out promptly . Then after like three months pass I get a random call from Robert (who initially laughed in our faces in his showroom) SOLICITING SERVICE! Are you so arrogant that you think we waited on YOUR RUDE A$$ to show up after you laughed at us? Get over yourself!!! I worked in commercial construction for over 30 years so I know building code, I know what jobs cost and how to treat contractors AND POTENTIAL CLIENTS . if you want obstacles and stop signs and just plain rude service patronize this store. We wanted to keep our money locally but some business just don't want your money . You are not the only spa store in this area and there are so many more contractors that will appreciate our business... just ask anyone who works for us. You lost a potential loyal customer who treats their contractors with respect and warm hospitality when working in our home . I doubt you are ever offered lunch, drinks, snacks, use of the homeowners restroom or gotten a christmas bonus from your clients. ya that's what we do for the regular contractors who work for us. Most time we are able to do the repairs ourselves. After non-use of our spa for a lengthy time we decided it was time to start it up again. Unfortunately one of the pumps froze up and we needed a service call. Made arrangements for Robert (their service tech) to do a service call. He was even available that day. Was told the parts and labor would be around $700. Told us he would contact us after he came out. We gave him permission to enter our property while we where not home. We came home and it looked like no one had been there yet. So we texted him to inquire if he was still coming out that day. He responded with a few laughing emojis and said he was passing on the job. We texted back inquiring as to why. He did not respond. The next morning my wife contacted him through the store (which is now called Cal Spas) in order to find out why he declined the job. He laughed at my wife and said that I knew why. That we have done our own repairs and now that there is a repair that has some difficulty with access we called him. He was rude and totally unprofessional. My wife then called back and spoke to Andy the store owner to let him know how unprofessional Robert was and that because of this incident we would never step foot in Cal Spas (or whatever they are calling themselves) ever again. He reply was "oh, well". So bottom line don't go there if want any kind of professionalism or good customer service.

Before moving forward, we met with 3 different contractors, and Mike was the only one who really understood our vision. We didn't want to tear out our existing concrete or patio cover, which made the project more complicated, but he was able to design around it and still deliver exactly what we were hoping for. That flexibility was a big reason we chose them. We broke ground on 9/15/25 and everything was complete by 11/10/25!!! It was crazy how fast everything went and he definitely did an amazing job coordinating all the teams to finish in a timely manner. We went with a custom setup that included a raised spa, Baja shelf, and two illuminated sheer descents, and everything came together really well. The spa might just be one of the biggest in town! The water features at night give the whole backyard a clean, finished look, with the lights. We also added the iAquaLink system, which has been super convenient for controlling everything from our phones. Like any build, there were a few minor things that came up along the way, but nothing major, and Mike has been responsive when we needed him. What stood out most is that he didn't disappear after the job was done-- Mike continues to be helpful when we've had questions or needed small adjustments. That kind of follow-through matters with a project like this, and it's a big reason we'd recommend CATAK. The level of professionalism and expertise was something we had never experienced before in any home project including building a custom spec home, let alone a swimming pool. Attention to detail and quality was built into the entire project and Mike was leading the entire way. All aspects of the project were handled with zero headaches on our end and there weren't any surprises or "gotcha" moments, Mike handled everything and always made us comfortable with the process, valued our input, and any offered changes from us without any fuss or hassle. The execution of the project was seamless and performed in a systematic and efficient manner, even with some weather impact the whole project was wrapped up in record time. During execution the crews' that Mike used were amazing! Even though there is some noise associated with the process they were always cognizant of appropriate times and hours worked in order to keep the nuisance down to a tolerable level for us and our adjacent neighbors who commented more than once about the exemplary job the company was doing and keeping work areas and approaches clean during the process. By the way, it's an excellent product and I only wish my cars worked as well as it did. But it does need maintenance work when the heater coil or motors finally, wear out. Remember, it's working 24 seven! As for Hydro Spa, they have always come out in one or two days, diagnosed the problem correctly and usually are able to fix it the same day or the next if they need to get a part. Their prices are fair (though it's been a very long time since I used any other company.) As I said, It's like maintaining a car that isn't broken, but occasionally needs expected maintenance. But the big thing is, they are honest and they fix it right the first time. I highly recommend them if you ever have a problemwith yollur spa or Jacuzzi.
