Leslie's Pool Suppy is the worse Pool Supply I have ever dealt with. They screwed up my equipment when it was installed, equipment showed up damaged, screws to keep the heater together was left on the ground and sold me things I didn't need. The Manager, Justin told me I would be getting a refund of $700. He said there would be two checks of $350 coming to me. One check arrived and after months of stopping into the store and having the Manager telling me it's slow, they told us, they are not sending the other check. They are liars and don't respect other people's time. I shopped there because I thought they had a good name, I was wrong. A lot of people have shared similar experiences they had with me regarding the lack of professionalism at this particular store. I highly recommend not using this company! read more

Dropped in to have water tested and buy a test kit. Their "system was down" so they could not test my water with reagents, but offered to check the ph and chlorine with test strips. They say the results indicated I needed chlorine. Asked if they had a test kit for calcium hardness and total dissolved solids. "No, but we can order it for you." Ended up going to the store down the street, had my water tested (it was fine), got the test kit I needed, and info about a pool sweeper. Lesson learned: don't go to Leslie's in Simi Valley. read more

came in for me in a pinch. When we purchased our home i purchased an emergency shock kit for our spa. Came in handy when the power went down and my hot tub pump went down now for severs days . Leslies will help you test your water then give you the exact recipe amount of chemicals you will need to bring your pool /spa to good health. if not for for this recent storm , hoping our electrician figures it out tomorrow. rain trips the breaker and now we can't get it to re-engage. read more

I bought a new Hayward Pool Vac from Leslies, in part because of the advertised rebate. When I went to register for the rebate, the Hayward Rebate website was not functional. I called Leslies, they said they didn't know anything about it and could not help. I spent too much time trying to sign up for the rebate. Turns out they shut down the website prior to the expiration date for signing up. Trying to find a phone number to talk to someone was nearly impossible. After much angst, I was finally able to register, and today I received a stupid VISA debit card. I used to like Hayward. I will seek out other suppliers before buying one of their (expensive) products. Likewise, I'll seek another pool supply store beside Leslies. read more

I tried to return an unopened Leslie brand product today. After making us wait for another customer that came in after us. We were shot right down by the Manager of this store. We purchased the product at another location and after giving him the account lookup info, He actually stated " that's Burbank, this is Simi, I can't take that back " period. Went to Leslie's pool to have our water checked. They checked our water and said we need to add soda ash. the entire tub we asked twice the entire tub, he said yes...come to find out we only need to add 9oz. Within an hour our pool was cloudy. We called them back to Let them know what happened and they said you need to add dry acid and wanted to charge us for their mistake. After disputing this issue they refunded the charge. Our pool is still not good. There is white residue on the bottom and if we try to vacuum the pool gets cloudy again. I called them today and say there is nothing they can do. read more

Came in to have our pool water tested (they offer it for free) and was worried about what the sales folks would have us walking out with but it was a totally different experience. A very nice gentleman tested the water, provided me a report, told me what I need to add to the pool and walked away. I was pleasantly surprised and asked him where I could find said products. We just recently purchased a huge spa and couldn't understand why we couldn't keep the water clear. We consulted the spa business directly and they kept telling us just to shock it. We got fed up with them not listening to our concerns, so we decided to go to Leslie's. We are SO glad we did. Nick checked our water and helped explain the products that were needed. The guys that work here are always very helpful. They know their products and have always been able to answer our questions. On the one occasion that I was not satisfied with my purchase they took it back with a full refund, no hassles. A nice bonus is they will provide you with a plastic bottle to bring in your pool water sample; they will assess it and provide chemical recommendations to get it in balance. Very disappointed in my local Leslies. Honestly I have stopped in every now and again to pick up supplies and only because it is located so close to my home. Their pricing in terms of filters and chemicals have been typically higher than their competitors. But not by much. The service has finally gotten so bad that I will now make it a point to shop else where even if I need to drive out of my way. 3 years ago (2010) the service was decent. Folks were knowledgeable and attentive. My last few visits, the lines were long, no offer to help and a past issue with their debt machine. This past Sunday they again had technical difficulties with their debit/credit card machine and as a result several of us had to wait for quite awhile. Not sure why but both the manager and a clerk appeared to be the only ones working and both working on the issue. Neither of them offered an apology for the inconvenience, or any other assistance (i.e. general questions etc.). Frankly after waiting quite awhile several of us left. I even told the manager I was leaving and still no apology or offer to assist. It is a shame, I have always found other Leslie shops to be very friendly and helpful in the past. Also - just in general I have not seen any advertising or coupon mailings in awhile. I wonder if the overall company maybe having some hard times? read more

Went to Leslie's in Simi for the 1st time. Usually I visit the TO or Moorpark, but recently found out I have one in my town and I'm a big supporter of local businesses. However, I will gladly drive the extra 20 min to give my money and my support to stores that actually serve it. The guy there, Nick, was so rude and short I wonder why he even bothers showing up. There are millions of Americans that would be happy to have a job and gladly take his spot! When asked if they matched prices his reply was so grossly rude I wish I had it on voice recorder. Then when I mentioned the cost difference it had on Amazon and I'll just buy it there he replied in the most rude tone saying "Amazon is usually the most discounted of anyone and that's why they are the #1 retailer" so firing back in the same tone "and that's why they'll put all brick and mortar out of business and their service is consumer first" he then proceeded to be an even bigger jerk. So I left it alone and purchased my hoses and left. Had I not needed the hoses as bad as I did I would have walked out. My advise to anyone considering shopping here...take the drive to TO or MOORPARK where they clearly appreciate the business and know how to give service to keep people wanting to come back to their store. read more

Customer service is awful! The most disrespectful arrogant unhelpful men that I ever been around. Tried getting help and they treated me like I was stupid...in the middle of helping me, older man walked off to help another customer. Had to go back another day for more help and a different guy was there with the same sales man who had sold me what the older man had told me to get. The new sales man told me I had bought the wrong stuff, demanded that I was wrong in saying the older man told me to buy it. I was shocked...They are terrible! You would get more help from YouTube! Ordered a $3300.00 pool and still waiting to get it 2 weeks later. I've had to call several times to find out what's gong on. Pieces of the pool are being delivered little at a time. This store is run very well by Mike. Adherence to COVID safety guidelines is top priority here. Everyone wears a mask. Mike also stands by his products and he has given me replacement chemicals without any prompting on my part on the house when the result (the heavy metal count- iron, copper) was not exactly in desired range. I made the mistake of going to Discount Pool Mart also in Simi Valley once because I happened to be in that area to buy some muriatic acid and this place was appalling. No masks at all. They also sold me acid in poorly labeled bottles that looked like it had been siphoned from another container and with no extra seal under the cap. They were storing the bottles outside the storefront for good reason. The stuff started leaking in my car on the way back and ate into the mat. Drove all the way home with my windows down because of the fumes. Safety is clearly not a consideration here. Discount Pool Mart was cheap for a reason and certainly not good enough! read more

Today was my last trip to Leslie's. I've seen the older guy before being a complete jerk to customers...but I've still gone back. I don't anyone's names, but the kid with the longer hair must be related...he has the same attitude. I went to get water tested and all I got from them was "You have to drain your pool and redo all the chemicals". When I commented that I will probably drain 1/2, refill, repeat, he got real pissy and said he couldn't help me then. This is the same kid that recommended a leaf catcher that was complete garbage (for over $50). I'm going to drain my pool based on his "expertise"??? The ONLY reason I've gone in there is they are close by. I'm very leery of their water testing as well. I'll be going to other stores to compare. Disgusting customer service! Went in on 9 /17/14 @ 12:30 PM to buys couple hundred dollars worth of pool toys since it's obviously going to be hot for a long time & out toys are thrashed.. I have been going to this establishment a little more lately because the customer service is better. the prices "so-so". The guy that manages(long brown hair....maybe mid 30's forget his name) is very knowledgeable and helpful. The morons that were there a few years' back are no longer. I was coming in for three weekends in a row to get help with getting the "ph" balanced in my spa. He explained in detail what I needed to do. Had a disappointing experience today at the Simi Leslie pool supply with the manager Nick. I had purchased a pool brush on sale late in April and tried to return it today with a receipt and unused. I had a pole at home but this brush (sale price $10) didn't fit it so I checked to see if they had a smaller brush - turns out I have an above ground pool and the manufacture makes a smaller pole and rake. Leslie's pole - which was $30, was not what I needed so I asked to return it. When Nick reviewed my receipt he pointed out that it was purchased in April and their return policy was only with receipt within 14 days - which is printed on their receipt. I asked if there could be an exception because I had not used the rake, they still sold the same brush and it was a small dollar amount. Nick didn't even think twice - NO! I said even if this would keep me from coming back to purchase the other pool supplies that I use - like tubs of chlorine... Nope. So you are saying you don't need my business ever again was my response and the last thing I heard him say was - "No, my business is up 26% this year..." Well, my business may not make much difference, but I would encourage you to think twice before shopping there. read more

Very poor customer service. I spent $130 on chemicals to eliminate phosphates. I tried three different treatments and my phosphates increased. When I asked for a refund they told me I had to wait longer for the chemicals to work and refused my money back. I have been a customer for many years. I will never use Leslie's again. read more

Been in a few times and service is getting so bad. I went into the store looking for a part. I was the only customer in the shop and only one employee was working. Its a small part but not a difficult one to locate. I explained the part, which was the screw for a Hayward DE air relief valve. I showed him the valve I had which was on a display on the floor. He explained that there were a bunch of different valves and that I would have to bring in the part or a picture. I told him that it was the screw that went into the valve on the filter on the floor and he stated that it was for a cartridge filter and not a DE one. I told him to just sell me the one that goes to that and he again said it probably was not it and that he would have to probably order it. Now I'm confused. If a customer asks for a part, you don't send the customer out of the store without the part. The employee, which I did not look at his name tag because he upset me so much, was very rude. Like I had interrupted him. He was very condescending about my knowledge which is funny because I worked for the company, both retail and corporate for 6 years. Now this was almost 13 years ago but I do remember that customer service was very important considering I have the ability to go to other shops to purchase my part. Which I did. My wife and I were completely dismayed by how the staff treated us. So much so that I refuse to visit this store again. An employee in particular did it for me. This younger 'gentleman' "helped" me. I walked in with a return item (a $17 item), with my two small children. As soon as I walked in I could see the irritability in his face and hear the irritability in his voice. As I explained I had no receipt and would like to return the item, he became agitated and was rude in how he was dealing with me. I asked him if he could grant an exception to not having a receipt. He reluctantly told me that he would have to contact his supervisor, but with not voicing his opposition in doing so and not without shaking his head in apparent disgust as he walked into the office to make the call. He came out looking rather PO'd, again by his body language and tone, and silently granted me my request by giving me back cash in a hiff. (Am I a valued customer or the enemy here??) The guy was rude, point blank. There is another guy who seemed like a manager type. We purchased over a hundred dollars worth of merchandise from him some time before, and he also is pretty blunt, and not extremely helpful. He told us we can only do one water check per month, and didn't appear to be wanting to help much with the questions we had about our water. Another store we decided to go to instead (not Leslie's), was the opposite: helpful, friendly, and willing to help is in any way they could. Friendly with my children. Not so much with this store, sorry to say. Steering clear and writing an appropriate review on Yelp. I will never visit this store again, and am avoiding Leslie's from now on. read more
