The 5 stars this business gets is well deserved!! I bought a duckie pool thermometer two days ago. I went to check the temperature of the pool today and found the duckie thermometer had an issue! Frustrated from the pool heater breaking down and having to rely on the solar blanket to heat the pool, I returned the thermometer for a replacement. Z who was so sweet, kind and patient with me two days ago, questioned the thermometer that I was returning. He felt it was an old one! I became indignant and appalled that he questioned its age when I had just purchased it. Yet, graciously, he exchanged it without anymore inquiry. I left hurt and mad that he even doubted me. When I got home, my husband who was in the pool with my 2 year old grandson, asked me why there were 2 "duckies" in the pool? Horror set in! I asked him what he was talking about? He pulled up two duckie thermometers! The blood drained to my feet! I realized I had picked up an old thermometer that had probably got stuck in the skimmer basket and got dislodged when the pool guy was here today? One I thought had disappeared from the pool for months!! I immediately called DPM and spoke to Z. I offered to return to pay for the replacement!! OMG!! He was so gracious and told me I didn't need to! If I had no use for it, I could just return it!! His kind gesture simply assured me of basic human kindness and understanding!! He did not make feel embarrassed at all!! I will continue to advocate for this business!! Thank you Z!! This was truly a humbling experience!! read more

I had an appointment to have some equipment upgraded. After waiting a couple of weeks for the appointment, the technician did not show up and no one called to reschedule. I guess they don't need the business. 4/8/24...This is an update to my previous review. I am increasing the rating from one star to four star because Discount pool mart did get back to me a couple of days later to apologize for the no show tech. They came out quickly and repaired my heater. They were competent, professional and charged me a reasonable fee for the repair. They also provided me a timely quote for additional upgrades to my system. I have not yet decided when or if I will go ahead with the upgrades. read more

Z and his crew seem to have a lot of experience with pools I had an issue with my pool motor it was oversized and the filter could not handle the additional pressure I had a few pool companies come out and could not figure out the problem. Like so many others I used to drive all the way to the Valley to go to the old DMP. I was thrilled when they opened in Simi. This store has prices cheaper that Amazon, Costco, Home Depot and Lowes and they know what they're doing. Got a problem with your pool, cleaner, pump, filter, water etc...? Bring it in and let them help. BTW Abel really is awesome. I need a receipt from last year to file a warranty claim for my disintegrating pool cover. I couldn't find the receipt and called DPM as a last resort. No problem. Drove down and picked up the reprinted receipt. We are lucky to have them here. If you're not a customer give them a try. I just wanted to leave a comment about the last job (repair of my pool heater) that DPM did for me, about two weeks ago. Your tech Sam came and made the diagnostic in less than a minute, replace the deficient part (membrane) and installed a switch so that the heater is not powered all the time, but only when the pump is on. Work was very professional, price was as announced on the phone and before the job was started. I highly recommend DPM and certainly Sam for his professionalism and great work! A very customer friendly operation! Late on a Saturday afternoon I brought in a bad motor with the attached housing. In less than an hour I left with everything I needed to install a new motor, the new motor and the attached housing for less than most places charge for just a motor. I gotta be real... Leslie's Pools is for fools. I mean, many of us have been there as amateur pool care-takers, and have a story to tell about nearly being taken advantage of on the premises. Lesile's is great because they'll give you a million free water test bottles to keep you coming back for a water analysis and step by step treatment plan. You'll walk out of there with your cute little test bottle, print-out, and $299 worth of special chemicals with names like Daily SuperSkrubb, Leslie's Pool juice (hourly additive), UltraMegaKleeeeer, AlginatorXXX, LesKleer, and LeslieCon.... ditioner, and of course the IV drip Banana bag-like treatment for a pool (you don't want to have to go there...We're talking possibly thousands for that type of infusion). How I ended-up here: I purchased a house with a pool and thought I could do all the gardening myself and get a pool guy. But the owner selling me the house said "Oh no, it's the other way around... You're insane, you have no idea...You can't do ALL THIS gardening yourself! (as he pointed to all the trees and bushes). But, you CAN take care of this pool yourself. I'll show you how." (Thanks Dustin!) I had absolutely no clue what I was doing but the owner was nice enough to go through the entire process of checking the pool and cleaning the DE filter. I was kind of overwhelmed with information and later I had to try to remember it and do it all again by myself like a big boy. I found myself at Leslie's Pool Supply because it was right down the street and open a little later. If you go into one of those shady blacked-out massage parlors... Then you probably have an idea of what you're getting yourself into. But I had no idea with Leslie's.... I was clueless. I got myself into a situation where my pool turned green and my wife freaked-out. It was kind of scary looking and I was maybe - not thinking clearly. So next thing I know, I find myself at Leslie's Pool Supply. I did the whole water test thing with Leslie's and realized how much money all the chemicals cost. I left there feeling so violated but figured tomorrow is a new day, so.... Discount Pool Mart had just opened at the time and I remembered buying salt and acid there. I was shocked at how much of a difference in cost the basic pool care chemicals cost at Leslie's versus Discount Pool Mart. So, I decided it wouldn't hurt to have my pool be green for another day and go to Discount Pool Mart to see what they say. I ended-up buying all the chemicals I needed there, for MUCH less and have continued to save so much money on parts like DE grids, hoses, gaskets and fittings. I do all my pool supply shopping at Discount Pool Mart now. I can't imagine going to Leslie's again unless it was some kind of emergency or something. Not only are the prices way better here, but they have such an amazing inventory of parts and the ability to get you anything you need. They have other nearby stores they can get stuff from. They also do everything Leslie's does. So they will test your water for you, tell you what to do, and they can even clean your DE filters for you if you want. I have learned so much from these guys over time. They are always friendly, easy-going, and very helpful. Narek is super cool always takes care of everyone. Carlos is awesome too and always so helpful. These guys are the best and I highly recommend them if you own a pool and live in Simi/Moorpark. read more

I can't begin to say how great this place is!!! Narek really went above and beyond my expectations as a customer and his knowledge of pool equipment and willingness to help really speaks to his desire to provide the best customer service possible!!! I discovered Discount Pool Mart last summer when I I needed to replace my Sta Rite filter cartridge. Not only did they help me find the part that I needed at a great price, but they also gave me free advice and made sure I felt comfortable with my purchase. However, they really surpassed my expectations yesterday (4/2/21) when I went in to purchase a new electronic board for my Sta Rite Heater. Narek was more than helpful in this matter. Not only did he give me advice on how to replace it, he even offered to come to my home and replace it for me (after he saw the concern on my face about not being able to do it myself). I really didn't expect that from this store or from him. Shortly after my visit to the store, he showed up at my home and quickly replaced the electronic board. However, after the board was replaced there was another issue, the Stack Flue Sensor was faulty. Luckily for me, he had come prepared and had a brand-new Stack Flue Sensor on hand. He replaced that for me, and my heater was now working flawlessly. Not only am I grateful for the wonderful service Narek provided, but I'm also very happy with store's low prices, they rival that of those found at Amazon and come with free advice and great customer service. If you need pool supplies and parts, there is no need to go anywhere else, not only are their prices very low, but the customer service is the best. I just bought a 1400 pool robot cleaner from these clowns. Turns out it does not have a fine filter that is needed to catch algae which they told me it had. The wifi does not work. I called to explain this and they played phone games hanging up on me, i could hear laughing before they hang up. I will dispute this with my bank since these idiots will not act like adults and resolve the issues. Buyer beware these guys are crooks! read more

Purchased blower for jacuzzi turns out they sold me the wrong voltage unit. Returned to the store within a hour and twenty minutes and I told them that unit stopped working within 20 seconds or so and I was told that it should have purchased the higher voltage unit When I purchased the unit I clearly was asked what voltage and I said I did not know but I described the wiring as two wires and a ground and was instructed by the counter sales that, that is 110 and was sold a 110 unit Needless to say that was incorrect and it failed so they sold me a 240 unit for another $235.00 and said they would talk to the manager and to leave the 110 unit and would get back to me as far as a store credit or refund Well after going there 2 times in person and calling 3 times and then finally going there today, and they said sorry not our problem and was handed the 110 unit back missing the paperwork and mounting bracket not very customer friendly considering I was willing to be responsible for 50% of the mistake I guess they don't stand behind the sales read more

Top notch service, price and advise. This store stocks all the parts needed to fix my pool cleaner. There is a huge inventory of brand name parts and high quality generic substitutes for every budget. Every time I visit the store I see pool pros picking up their supplies. I established a chlorine and acid service so I can get highly rated Hasa line for a fraction of what I would've paid at Home Depot. The way it works is the store requires a small refundable deposit for yellow plastic crates you see in pool pros' trucks and then you bring back your empties and pick up filled bottles. I like that the plastic is re-used. I fix my own pool equipment but you can drop off your broken pool cleaner and they fix it for free - just pay for parts. Chemicals - probably the largest line up of different manufacturers. These guys have everything from algaecides to pool clarifiers to water conditioners. read more
