UPDATE: After all the work that Swan did in my back yard I had my Gas meter updated to a larger size, when they were done with the install they quickly notified me that there was a leak in the backyard and red tagged the valve to the equipment in the back. I quickly called Todd to let him know with the obvious unsettling feeling that we were going to have to break out brand new concrete.. I had a lead detection company isolate the area and Todd quickly sent a crew of 3 guys with no questions asked.. they dug for 2 days and found a leaking coupler that they had absolutely nothing to do with. They fixed it, pressure tested the system and when I asked how much I owed them because it wasnt their fault he said Zero.. Just glad we could fix it for you... Wow I was blown away... 110% would absolutely not hesitate to highly recommend Swan for anything they quoted.. they stand behind their work and want nothing more than to ensure their customer is happy. read more

If you are looking for quality workmanship, professionalism, years of experience and people that respect your property, then Swan Pools West offers just that! My only regret is that we didn't have Dave do our original pool 15 years ago. Our original pool was decorated with fake cemented rock that over the years had started cracking and crumbling and eventually the water flowing from the spa into the pool was going through the cement instead of over it. We weren't sure how much damage was happening inside the structure and were concerned that imminent damage was in the very near future. After reaching out to several pool construction/renovators that served our area, we felt the most comfortable with Dave. He brought years of experience and had a very pleasant easy-to-talk-to disposition. As we began our project, the stress and anxiety of my previous experiences dealing with pool construction workers came back. I reached out to Dave and he was there to answer all my questions and calm me down. He gave simple answers with a reassuring voice. After discussing what we hoped to have repaired, Dave came up with a simple, clear plan. We agreed to the prices, and were told the project would be about 6 to 8 weeks. We gave our first down payment on July 11 and the plaster was poured on September 11. Dave coordinated with us every step of the way. We signed a contract, met with him to choose our stone and tile for the project and had good communication. There was an issue with the tile in that not enough was ordered; however, the problem was rectified immediately. There were days that no one was working on our pool because Dave was also working on other pools in the area that needed attention; yet, even with that, he managed to keep his word by completing everything that he said he would in 2 months. If you are looking for a responsible pool company that you can trust, I highly recommend reaching out to this group. At this point in our lives, our pool is beyond recreational. It is for our health and wellbeing. We not only use it to cool down and relax, we use it for regular exercise. Now it is all of those things as well as a beautiful piece of art. Thank you Dave! My pool has been finished for just over a year now so I can give a full honest review. Todd came and took our ideas drew up a plan, revised it to our liking then got to work. He and his contractors were always on-site on time and worked really hard. Every time a new phase would come up Todd would walk the site again with me looking at the plans so that I was always in the know. He would always give me suggestions, some to save money now, some to save money down the road if I wanted to add a new feature. I had a flood problem in my yard before the project began. Todd made sure my yard is flood proof now adding pleny of drainage to the whole yard not just the pool area.The man really cares about his customers and thier happiness. We had a complicated pool build with a large retaining wall and elevated spa. After obtaining 4 quotes, we decided to go with Dave at Swan Pools West. We did have 1 lower quote and 2 quotes that were considerably higher. Swan had built a pool at my previous home over 20 years ago, so I trust their work. They deliver great quality at a reasonable price. I appreciate Dave's direct and no-BS nature. He has the experience and expertise to honestly tell you what can reasonably be done. In my experience, he will under-promise and over-deliver! A pool is likely your most expensive investment, after your home purchase. It's a big, complicated project. There will be stress and there will be glitches along the way. There are multiple crews involved. We are very satisfied with how this project was handled by Swan. The communication directly with Dave and Todd was fantastic! They ALWAYS returned calls and text messages promptly, and any issues that arose were handled promptly and fairly! Shout out to Dean (Dave's son) who did an amazing 3D digital design for us, and a special shout out to Todd (also Dave's son) who was a great asset with the stone work and deck by lending his expertise in color, design, and material choices. Well, we found another leak oin the pool they built on top of the other two leaks. They are not putting me as a priority probably because I already paid them a ton of money. So I'm losing water and I still can't use my pool after one year of construction. Contractor cannot contain his behavior. He can make. schedule and a scope of work but he is unable to follow it.. I don't even understand how they're still in business.. talking to lawyers to demand they come and fix this leak asap before the holidays. This will be my second holiday with construction in my backyard because of this contractors mishandling of the project in the way of misrepresentation of everything including the contract. I have been seeing and hearing firsthand of what this Pool Contractor does. My employer hired them two years ago. It has been a challenge for them every step of the way. There have been many leaks in the pool, which are not easy to get fixed. And when they were fixed, it wasn't fixed to original design... the contractor belittles and disrespects the client and the property. Some of the final product is wrong. The contractor takes no accountability. This contractor has been not only a severe stressor, but the pool product is also inferior. They are very cheap and do not explain anything. They are in constant defense just trying to get the end of the construction. It's so hard to watch. Be Very, very careful for this contractor, or better, don't hire them. There are other contractors out there that may be a pain, but this is another level dealing with this Contractor for a pool build. read more

We had our pool built in 2020 by another company. A majority of the pool is tile due to it being partially elevated. Within 3 years the tile started popping off and grout deteriorating around the jacuzzi and other areas. Of course it was past the warranty when the damage began. But one would not expect this to happen so soon on a $100,000 pool job. We decided to get several estimates and Swan Pools gave the best deal for the same thing others were quoting for twice as much. Pretty big project during the rainy season about 7 months of work. Working with Todd from Swan Pools West and his professional crew of contractors was a very pleasant experience from start to finish. Absolutely no follow though with this company. We called and scheduled a consult for new pool install. Todd came out measured and said he'd shoot over an estimate in a few weeks. 4-6 weeks later, still no estimate. Called the company a total of 7 times (left messages and spoke to an older lady) to see if an estimate was available. Was told twice when I actually got a hold of someone that Todd would send it over or return my call. NEVER received an estimate or even a call back. Keep in mind that this was a all cash job, no financing. So thankful this company showed me how incompetent they were before we signed a contract. read more

Previously I wrote a 5 star review regarding my pool replastering, and how satisfied I was with Swan Pools, our original pool builder from 22 years ago. Now I'm writing with literal tears of gratitude. My house is in escrow, and the buyer's inspector found a couple of minor problems (unrelated to Swan's work), and one of them had me worried on Sunday. Dave Lewis, the owner, came over on Sunday afternoon to calm my fears, look over the situation, and reassure me that there was not a worrisome problem. He called his electrician, who thinks highly enough of Dave to commit to coming first thing Monday, and who advised me this morning on how to correct the problem. He'll be back by the end of the week to replace a part to make everything work properly. All this in the middle of Corona virus confusion. He and the electrician relieved my stress, and I am so appreciative. I will be moving out of the area, and I can only hope that I find people as reliable, professional, and kind-hearted as Dave Lewis, Todd Lewis and their company Swan Pools. read more

We did our pool with Dave years ago. From the moment we started he was never involved. Left his son Todd to run it. It was a cluster of errors at every turn. One Friday he turned our water off and left early for the weekend without turning it on, when i turned the water on they had pipes uncapped all over the yard. No one would answer the phone. I had to run to Home Depot and get all the material to cap all the pipes myself. When i finally got a hold of Dave on Monday he just gave me an oh well stuff happens. He set the heater and filter in the middle of the yard. Electrical box next to the pool. When i told him it looked like crap. He said that was code. But he was Johnny on the spot every Friday for money. Over the first year about 10 percent of our tiles fell off the sides. He would never come back and fix. Worst mistake of our lives. read more

We did a major remodel on our pool and choose Swan Pools. We have had a lot of problems with them and I would definitely not recommend them. I absolutely hate writing bad reviews and am the type who usually gives 2nd chances, but there were just too many issues and no accountability, so I'm posting this as a warning to future clients. We rerouted plumbing and they dug trenches for the new pipe work. While they were working, I noticed the water wasn't coming on in our guest house. We checked everything and luckily a worker from a different contractor who was remodeling inside said he saw the pool guys break a pipe. He showed me where it broke and it was completely buried. Dave completely denied it. I had to insist they dig it up and right where the worker said it would be, there it was - a capped water line. We insisted Dave reconnect it and low and behold, the water was back on in the guest house. Now granted Dave was hardly there, so he wasn't there to see the pipe broken, but he should use more trustworthy subs. The 2nd issue was the gas line. I had the gas turned off to the house because of the construction inside. Thank goodness I did. When we went to turn the gas on, it was spewing out from under the pool equipment slab. Swan's sub tore through the gas line to the BBQ island and it had ripped the line under the slab. Dave said they wouldn't cover it or replace it. He said the contract specifically said they weren't responsible for underground lines. I had told him the line was there, running to the existing fire pit in the back of yard before he started. So, $2,800 we had new gas line run with no help or accountability for Swan Pools. And finally, the 3rd issue is the spillways we hired them to install weren't working well from the beginning. It seemed like they didn't have enough power to clear the edge of the pool and there was a split in the flow. Dave said it was because the pool filter was dirty. We waited until the landscaping was done and then had the pool filters replaced. Spillways still weren't working right. I texted at least 4 times over two months til he finally came by. Turned out the valves need to be turned off for the spa to get enough pressure, so we can't have both on at the same time, which is annoying. And there crew left a mess. Pieces of pipe, cardboard, blue residue from the pebbletech dumped in the yard and junk everywhere. They are really one of the worst contractors I've ever dealt with. read more

This pool contractor installed our pool in Ventura about 11 years ago.....they screwed up the filter system, hired a shady concrete sub and they did a crappy job....concrete cracked within 4 months. We believe pool started to lift right away, but was told by Swan that wasn't the case. We threatened to sue them and they came out and half-assed our cracks.....re did the molding between the pool and concrete..... Flagstone around pool is cracking, patio is cracking.... Shady owners....bad installers....just in general terrible company. read more
