I didn't just jump into this with them, I took probably 2 years deciding on who I should use and why. I met with general builders, discount pool builders, other pool companies and I am so happy that I did my homework. Eric and his team are AWESOME. Chad is his point guy and he's the nicest guy you'll ever meet. What they do better than the rest is LISTEN. They really take the time focusing on what you want to accomplish with your pool refresh. I had one of those 70's pools that's 8-9 feet deep. It NEVER warmed to above 80 even in the months where it's a 100 degrees out here for a month. We brought up my depth from 3 1/2 feet to 5 1/2 feet in different areas. We added an 8 foot tanning shelf with stairs. We literally went over every inch of that pool with me in it with a tape measurer just to measure where I wanted the water level in every spot. We made a million changes throughout, as he said in the beginning that we would once things started to take shape. We added the pebble finish. We added new porcelain tile. There are a million options there as well and he guides you through every choice and really has a great understanding of what your water color will end up looking like or how your coping with play with tile that you choose. He/they are way beyond just being knowledgeable. Every inch of your pool will be discussed, if you're that into it. My project took 4 weeks total to finish and came in ahead of schedule. The price I paid was EXACTLY to the penny of what my estimate was, even with the changes that we agreed upon. We took away a few things and added a few things. If I could give 10 stars I would. There isn't ONE inch of my pool that I am unsatisfied with.. Oh, and my water is already at 80 and we haven't even hit the heat of the summer here in the valley. Eric has specialist for every phase of your project and they all were amazing. Clean work, and no debris left after their processes. They were not the cheapest nor were they the most expensive. They landed right on fair. But, worth every penny. My wife and I couldn't be happier. Oh, and if they sucked, I would be the first on here screaming it. I told Eric before we started that I would be leaving an honest review and here it is. If you have any questions, you can have Eric call me and connect us and I will tell you myself. Aces.

Mike Smith was our project construction manager throughout the build, he was extremely responsive, gave us lots of advise and always over delivered on timeline and detail. The various aspect of the build are sub'd out i.e. excavation, re-bar, plumbing etc. we have been very happy with all the contractors that CP's uses, they were all efficient, trustworthy and very skilled in their trade. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!! I CANNOT recommend this company in…read moreANY manner! They are definitely NOT Arizona's most trusted company, in fact the complete opposite!!!!!! All I can do is share our AWFUL experience with this company & hopefully I can save you the aggravation we had to go through. This was supposed to be such a fun time and boy what a nightmare it was !! It was bad from the beginning!! First of all, our designer of the pool & spa project did not capture the details of the project we were most concerned about ( my husband has back and hip issues). The communication was horrible!! We saw a picture of the project.. the contract is very hard to read / I'm sure that's on purpose !! We paid extra for pop-up cleaners in our pool!! We didn't even realize that there was absolutely no way to clean our hot tub. We were not sold or even TOLD by our designer that pop-up cleaners weren't included or that we wouldn't even have a way to clean our spa!!!! It was very disappointing and then to mention.....Our Hot tub was unusable for the first three months because my husband couldn't get into it because they made a 34 inch step into the hot tub! Oh, did I mention when it finally did get to be usable we found out that it was plumbed wrong and all of our pressure was coming out of the return jets! So it needed to be fixed for a 3x !!! Not to mention, I had to drain and refill this thing three times the fourth time it was finally complete!! Again, you would think that coming from such a high profile Company, you would not run into these issues. How does this happen from a professional pool company ? So then it was unusable again!! I can honestly say NOBODY in this company throughout the whole process cared about my project! In fact, my project manager, Donny was rude unprofessional. He told me I that I need to mind own business and leave the pool building to the pool professionals ! Who talks to somebody like that? Donny lie to my face and told me I had to do a $$4,000 upgrade to pass inspection, That was a Lie!! NOT THE CASE AT ALL!! I asked the inspector! Then he completely denied it! When I let a manager know it was completely brushed off!! It was disgusting. I've never been treated so poorly by Company that I hired!!!! worked my way up the Management line after several failed attempts! I talked to Steve, Donny's boss and that was useless ! It seems like they must be buddies!! This company throws the Manager title to anyone... what a joke Steve was. We had PROBLEMS after PROBLEMS ! Way too many to mention ALL! Every single trade was a subcontractor. We would have NEVER went with a pool company who subcontracted out everything!! We had a big issue because we were not able to communicate with them because I cannot speak Spanish. Subcontractors were leaving garbage all over our yard. Others they were Spitting sunflower seeds into our pool when it had rebar being done..I was told that most of the work would be done by a California pool employee and that was not the case... ANOTHER LIE !!! All work was subcontracted!! I can't stress enough that nobody in this company cared about how my project was going or how I was being treated as a customer. The work was less than average. They were the highest out off all of our quotes!! I'm still not happy with the outcome of my project. I'm beyond disappointed and disgusted in this company! You can find a much better company to spend your hard earned money on! This company was the highest company out of all of our estimates. I went with them because I thought that they would be a reputable company and man was I wrong!! This company needs some MAJOR fixing!! SAVE YOUR MONEY!! The quality is less than average! RUN AS FAR FROM THIS COMPANY AS YOU CAN!! I forgot to mention we paid cash for our pool before it was even finished! Horrible mistake on my end!! Lesson learned!!

Before moving forward, we met with 3 different contractors, and Mike was the only one who really understood our vision. We didn't want to tear out our existing concrete or patio cover, which made the project more complicated, but he was able to design around it and still deliver exactly what we were hoping for. That flexibility was a big reason we chose them. We broke ground on 9/15/25 and everything was complete by 11/10/25!!! It was crazy how fast everything went and he definitely did an amazing job coordinating all the teams to finish in a timely manner. We went with a custom setup that included a raised spa, Baja shelf, and two illuminated sheer descents, and everything came together really well. The spa might just be one of the biggest in town! The water features at night give the whole backyard a clean, finished look, with the lights. We also added the iAquaLink system, which has been super convenient for controlling everything from our phones. Like any build, there were a few minor things that came up along the way, but nothing major, and Mike has been responsive when we needed him. What stood out most is that he didn't disappear after the job was done-- Mike continues to be helpful when we've had questions or needed small adjustments. That kind of follow-through matters with a project like this, and it's a big reason we'd recommend CATAK. Looking forward to enjoying the pool for years to come and continuing to work with them if anything comes up down the line. I will add some pictures soon!
