Their prices are fair (though it's been a very long time since I used any other company.) As I said, It's like maintaining a car that isn't broken, but occasionally needs expected maintenance. Frustrated from the pool heater breaking down and having to rely on the solar blanket to heat the pool, I returned the thermometer for a replacement. Z who was so sweet, kind and patient with me two days ago, questioned the thermometer that I was returning. He felt it was an old one! I became indignant and appalled that he questioned its age when I had just purchased it. Yet, graciously, he exchanged it without anymore inquiry. I left hurt and mad that he even doubted me. When I got home, my husband who was in the pool with my 2 year old grandson, asked me why there were 2 "duckies" in the pool? Horror set in! I asked him what he was talking about? He pulled up two duckie thermometers! The blood drained to my feet! I realized I had picked up an old thermometer that had probably got stuck in the skimmer basket and got dislodged when the pool guy was here today? One I thought had disappeared from the pool for months!! I immediately called DPM and spoke to Z. I offered to return to pay for the replacement!! OMG!! He was so gracious and told me I didn't need to! If I had no use for it, I could just return it!! His kind gesture simply assured me of basic human kindness and understanding!! We got quotes from several pool remodeling companies and Smart Swim came in right in the middle. We are strong believers on "you get what you pay for," and opted to go with them even though they were not the cheapest. From beginning to end, the guys at Smart Swim were easy to work with and truly wanted our project to come out great. After 30 years, it was time for our pool to have a remodel! Through the remodel, it was uncovered that we had many severe leaks, down to the rebar that needed to be fixed in some areas. Sam was great at making sure we understood the severity and that we were okay with any new costs that needed to be added. Not only did they do our pool, but also installed turf by the pool area and put pavers all around the pool and yard area. We also got the new gray gate installed from them as well, to replace the wooden fence in the yard (between the pool). **Noting that the perimeter wall/wooden top was painted black and sanded/stained by a different company. We truly appreciate their hard work and even when we had an immediate death in the family during their time working on our project, they were very respectful and gave us some space as needed. Perhaps the best part, you can try out the spas to find the one you like. We ended up going with a Sundance Aspen and are so happy with it. Perhaps the best part was working with the owner, Robin, who is a very knowledgeable and kind woman. She was very patient with us, even with our seven year old daughter running around and jumping in and out of the tubs. We ended up getting a great deal on the spa and Robin even threw in some extras when the spa was installed, which was so kind. They have an awesome installation team lead by Greg, who is also really easy to work with and knowledgeable. We had a problem with the initial install, when they pulled out our old tub. The wood deck below was rotten and the new tub could not be installed where we planned. Greg stayed cool and helped us figure out a solution that required pouring a new slab for the tub. They came back right away after the slab was done and set up the tub. Overall I think this is a great place to purchase a spa, especially if you are on the West side. We got a great deal on a top of the line spa, with 1st class service from this business.
