If you've watched the movie 'Water World" just imagine our equipment looking like those rusted out floating piles of sh......sheet metal. I contacted Nick and Liz when I purchased a house with a pool. I had another company give me a pool inspection before I purchased the home and they found 10k in repairs that "needed" to be done. Nick picked through the inspection report, and gave me insightful advice as to what needed to be done and what didn't. This advice alone saved me thousands of dollars. I've had Advanced install a new Intelliflo pump, new lights in my spa and pool, a safety check valve and new deck-o-seal. Absolutely top class, as indicated by the quality of the water in our pool/spa. Davin has been our pool technician for 1-1/2 years, and our water quality is perfect. We recently used the pool and spa for 2 large parties, and there were a lot of people in and out of both pool and spa. It resulted in a build up of algae which presented itself yesterday (3 days before our scheduled weekly service). I contacted Liz via email on a Saturday, to see if I could add chlorine, or if that was the wrong approach. She told me to not do anything, and instead sent Davin here on Sunday, even apologizing that she couldn't get anyone here the same day. We purchased a home in Simi in June and needed pool service. The man who lived here prior to us took care of his pool so it was in great condition. I asked a neighbor who had a pool for a referral. The guy she referred came one time, quoted us an outrageous price for weekly service and sent me a bill that had 2 extra charges. I cancelled service with him immediately and took to yelp for guidance. I came across Advanced and called them because their rating (and amount of reviews) seemed legit. As I told Liz when I spoke to her, I was a little skeptical about all the 5 star reviews, but in the few weeks we've been with them, they have gone above and beyond to help us with a couple things we knew we needed to take care of. So after my old pool pump finally died I decided it was time to replace it. Liz and Nick did a fantastic job at explaining what we need to do to get us going again with the best most efficient equipment. He not only installed a new pump, and upgraded my whole Jandy system, he also cleaned up all my unused wires. And to top it off, he actually cleaned all the leaves and dirt around the system and pump before he left. He told me in detail how the whole system worked, and even did the math for how much energy my new Pentair Intelliflo saved me. They had a young man from Arkansas, who did not clean my pool for at least two weeks and lied that he did. My pool developed algae. I had Liz dismiss him after I spoke to her about the problem. Liz replaces that pool cleaner with another individual who didn't show up and claimed he did. First, Liz defense the kid from Arkansas; then she was for a loss of words with second liar pool cleaner. I would definitely without hesitation hire Nick again but will never seek services for pool cleaning and maintenance again. To me Nick is legit! read more

I have been using Advanced Pool and Spa for 6 years and they are the best! The weekly pool guy is there every week and the pool always looks great when he leaves. Liz is the office manager, and she is proactive about notifying me about any potential issue with the pool. She is also very responsive via text, which is awesome because it is so much more convenient than calling if I have a question. Nick is the owner and the few times I needed to him to check something out he was out to my house within a day. My home warranty company just replaced the pool pump. I am having issues with the new pump and even though Advanced Pool didn't install the pump they are taking the lead to get the manufacturer to come and fix the problem. Whether by phone, e-mail, or text, info and discussions are easy and prompt - typically responses come within a few minutes. Nick came out to provide an estimate on remodeling our outdated pool and replacing all our old pool equipment and within a few days Liz provided a written itemized quote. Nick recommended what should be done and what would be a waste of money. Honesty in business - glad it still exists someplace. Once we agreed on a start date the entire process only took a week. Our pool was stripped down - new tile, new plaster, all new automated equipment (VS pumps, heater, filter, plumbing, color changing LED lights, the works!). Our pool has never looked so good and we can even control everything with our phones now! No more ensuring the valves are in the correct positions - the system does it all. The remodel went off without a hitch and even the equipment mounting and location looks 10X better than it did before. Everything matches, is accessible, and isn't a mess of pipes going here, there, and everywhere. HIGH QUALITY WORK at its best. I was so impressed that I opted to have them maintain my pool from here on out as well. After the recent Santa Ana winds made a mess of the new pool they immediately had someone come out to take care of it before it could stain the new plaster. The best part is that Nick & Liz are so incredibly personable that you can't help but want them as your friends. I can't imagine a better business to deal with.
