I was so excited to visit the Alkalicous Cold Pressed Juice Bar, which had been on my list for years. However, it didn't live up to the hype. On a positive note, Alkalicous Cold Pressed Juice Bar's customer service was exceptional. The cashier was attentive and patient, taking the time to address all my queries as a first-time visitor. This left me with a strong sense of reassurance about the quality of service at the juice bar. I ordered the most millennial thing ever - the avocado toast. The avocado toast with the basil pesto, avocado slices, and sprouts on a whole grain slice was good and filling, but I almost didn't have space to enjoy the second menu item, so I ordered a smoothie bowl. My choice for the smoothie bowl was the Strawberry Kiwi Bliss. The toppings were beautifully arranged strawberries, kiwi, blueberries, and granola, with a gentle drizzle of honey. However, the base of the bowl could have been more impressive, living up to the standard set by the toppings. The base seemed caught between being water-based and milk-based (cashew). It had the coloring of being milk-based but not the creaminess, and there was so much ice that it removed all of the strawberry and banana flavoring. read more

I love cold pressed juice. I ordered the Root juice which had a strong beet taste which I enjoyed. Hummus and tortilla wedges were delicious. The service was excellent and the staff is friendly. We waited in comfortable chairs and looked at the fish swim in the tank. There was a tv playing but was not very loud. read more

I like the juices and the different shots you can get, But I have yet to try the wheat grass shots because there always out of it. Nice folks that work here and the customer service is always great. The one thing I did not care for was the Acai bowl. There Acai bowl is not worth the 9.50 price to me because its very basic. They also have other fruit bowls you can purchase that are more extravagant but then what's the point of the Acai bowl? The Acai bowls I'm used to are large, have all of the garnishing's of fruit with other things layered into the bowl like granola, peanut butter, nuts, then the frozen acai along with coconut shavings and a drizzle of honey on top. There Acai bowls are just filled with frozen acai stuff and then garnished with a small amount of almonds, granola, chia seeds and coconut shavings. The bowl you get is small and to me its just basic and not worth the price tag. I still like the juices and shots and will keep returning for them. read more

Love the concept and the menu but the value is just not there. We ordered three items from the menu and all three were compromises but at premium prices. Avocado toast $4.75: The overall flavor profile was great. There was a great amount of salt and pepper and maybe a bit of garlic. The reason I can not recommend this however is because it is one slice of toast with 1/4 of an old piece of avocado (see closeup photo). Açaí Bliss bowl $9.50: Açaí bowls are becoming more common place these days so because there are other options, it is hard to justify the almost $10 price for what you get here. Every piece of fruit used was frozen where other places give you fresh fruit. Also, again, take a look at the picture. There is such a small sliver of toppings on the bowl and small amount of coconut and chia. All of this of course is in a plastic bowl using plastic spoons at a place that also sells $8 metal straws for eco-warriors. For this much money, more should be expected today. 24 Karat juice $11.50: This was the biggest disappointment as I make this exact juice at home. When you pay premium prices, you expect a premium product and that is not what we got with this juice. Are all the ingredients there? Yes. Requirement met. But the juice is pre-made and has water added or there is another base added like cheaper apple juice. This juice should be around $6-$7 max, not almost $12 with tax. Update: I appreciate the owners response below. A 3-lab bag of gala apples is $15 at Whole Foods. $60 a standard price for an entire box and yes, apples are still considered a cheap filler juice among premium juices, especially when it is marketed as carrot juice. Let's disregard the juice part of my review and with the lack of fresh ingredients on the açaí bowl and the old avocado, it still stands at 2 star experience at this price point. read more

The food was very good. But I think this restaurant can go from good to GREAT if they fix some problems. The food took 30 minutes for a smoothie and one sandwich. Plus the sandwich took longer because they forgot to make it. I also hear another customer go to the counter with a item missing from her order. It has been at least a year but the workers and owner were sweet. The smoothies were quite consistently pleasing to me. There was a reward system if you signed up which was neat idk if it's still there. The documentaries playing seemed to fight my appetite at times. That portabella gyro disappointed me. It's so nice to have more health-conscious restaurants in the area. The smell as soon as I walked in was like a garden full of veggies and natural ingredients. The cashier was super nice and she signed me up for the rewards program- because who doesn't want rewards? I ordered the brownie batter smoothie which consisted of things I can't remember because I've never heard of the ingredients. When she was done making my smoothie she cane from behind the counter and handed it to me with a smile. She was holding it as if it was on a display which made me proud to drink such a smoothie! When they first opened, the menu was limited primarily to juices and smoothies. Since then, however, they have expanded the menu to include an entire vegan food menu. They still offer the same fresh pressed juices and smoothies, but have simply expanded on them. Everything is made to order, so it will take some time to prepare whatever it is you happen to choose. I'm particularly fond of the Rise and Shine juice, which is like a savory lemonade. I've not partaken in any of the food, but have seen many people order and leave happy. I've never had food there, but the place is always clean when I come in for fresh pressed juice. They always offer to add things politely and never push, but I don't need any supplements in my juice. Staff is very friendly and the inside is nicely organized. I like that they're across the street from my office and they seem to know some of our staff well and know where we are, so that makes me feel like they're listening.
