This was such an amazing experience. Beautiful April sun-shine and weather. We will be back!!! Sometime after we booked the stay, the concierge reached out and was able to provide out activity itinerary. The check in was easy and we were honestly pleasantly surprised that we were given real keys to out lodging. The lodging was amazing. Clean and spacious 1-bedroom suite, bunk beds for our teenagera in the living area. Cute little fire place. The entire facility was beautiful and well maintained. Other than the lake the resort was an easy walk. Highly recommend the e-bike to tour the mountain. The horse back riding was good for us beginners. The lake side activity was so much fun.

Best of the best in the Santa Yanez valley. Words cannot describe the joy and happiness Alisal brings to my family. A yearly trip here is never enough but always appreciated and needed.

Fire place in our suite. They will replenish the starter sticks if you run out.

Gorgeous and breathtaking! From the suite to dining, to the outdoor activities... everything you could hope for in a Dude Ranch is here at Alisal. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have horseback riding, e-biking, hiking, archery, air rifle, fishing, kayaking, and a rodeo. We did it all! The suite had a fireplace, which gave to the ambiance of the stay. I would definitely come here again!!

This is our second time visiting the ranch. It's such a magical place. Everywhere you turn their beauty. The rooms are something out of architectural digest most of all everybody who works. There is amazing and super helpful. The food is top-notch and so are the cocktails the hayride out to the Adobe breakfast was super fun, especially with the cowboy poetry. Of course you'll have to do the horseback riding as well and most of all just relax and enjoy.!!

Came for a weekend getaway after schools started back up to avoid the crowds. I actually had low expectations as someone who prefers higher end hotels. I fell in love with the place and hope to come back annually. Wife and kids loved it too. It was during an unusually bad heat wave but even still... the horseback riding, Archery, Air rifles were all great and the staff were super friendly. The Ranch Golf course was interesting and in pretty good shape. The pool was great and helped beat the heat. Staff and service were top notch from check in to check out, top to bottom and I mean every single person on staff on property. Tip: The bar area has live music, snacks, and allows kids so it was fun for the whole family. Rooms were much nicer than I had expected being on a ranch. Dressing up for dinner made it feel special and every night dinner was a treat. All in all I highly recommend and can't wait to return because there was so many things to do that we didn't get to it all.

Friendly horse petting.

Alisal Ranch is a standout experience; The setting and grounds showcase the unique natural beauty and rich California history of the Santa Ynez Valley. The rooms are beautifully appointed with the finest quality materials and amenities in a warm, classy western style. The Oak Room Bar is a great way to start or end your evening; great live entertainment. Our bartender, Ian, was so charming and knowledgeable. Jack the Restaurant manager, Maria our dinner server was warm and delightful. The food quality is excellent and included along with gratuities in the package price. Lovely piano accompaniment to farm fresh locally sourced gourmet ingredients. The bath robes are unique; fashioned from gorgeous soft indigo denim and lined in cozy luxurious chenille. The resident mousers, Tom and Jerry are super cute friendly kitties. The horses and other ranch critters make this a memorable time for animal lovers of all ages. This was a return visit for us and we plan to return again next May.

I am going to let you in on a little secret…read more... Yeah, I'm going to share with you what i THINK is the best kind of getaway, well, at least in my humble opinion. It's the kind that doesn't abruptly end, but it just sort of.... keeps on going. Let me explain. Have you ever gone on vacation and said to yourself, or to your spouse or even to your kids.... "Gee, I could have really used one more night" Or Let out the exaggerated (Ughh)... "I don't want to go back to work tomorrow, I wish we could just extend our trip by just one more day" Well... On a recent trip with my family, We INTENTIONALLY did just that. My wife booked us a 2 night stay in Paso Robles at a beautiful boutique style/chain hotel. (The Ava Hotel in Paso) (Check out my review for the deets) Usually, when we do these short, weekend trips, I work up until the day of our trip and then go back the very next day once we return... But, NOT THIS TIME! Yeah, This time, my wife intentionally told me, let's book one more night on the way home from our trip in Paso just to break up the drive home and enjoy one more day off of work and time with the fam. Heck, I've got loads of PTO and who wants to be at work anyway, so it wasn't too hard to twist my arm on this one. And just like that.... Solvang, Here we Come! Yes, the cute, quaint town of Solvang is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or even just for a one night stay like we did. Of course, my wife, the Queen of finding the best places to stay/eat... (AND I AM THE ONE WHO IS THE "ELITE" haha) booked us a room at the Landsby hotel and it was nothing short of a treat. Here's why: The Landsby is more than just a room... Inside of a hotel... Located in the heart of this Danish town known as: SOLVANG It wasn't just, "let's build a hotel where the people can stay and explore the town while they are here". At least that's not the impression it gave me! Instead, The Landsby has a Charm about, it has Character and most of all it gives you the impression that you are in a modern-day Dutch village. But one of my favorite parts.... The Room Key, keyword, "KEY" Yeah! The room key is an actual Key!!! A metal, lock and key, just like the good 'ol days! Ain't no digital, pre-programmed, modern day, technologically advanced system like every other hotel does it.... And I liked it! And to match the old school style key... The t.v is in black and white, the internet is run on dial up and the telephone is a rotary dial..... JUST KIDDING!!!! But wouldn't that be cool! Aside from the small town European vibe that the exterior of the building gives you, once you step inside both the hotel and then your room, you are immediately transported to a place that feels welcoming, familiar and most of all comfortable. Because this was a short stay (just a one nighter) we didn't take advantage of the amenities like we normally do, but next time we will. A lobby bar (our favorite place to check out), an onsite restaurant (Mad & Vin which loos really good), an outdoor courtyard to sit and relax, and complimentary cruiser bikes to explore the town. The Landsby is Pet friendly, so definitely check out their webpage for details for your furry friends. So....... Now that I've let you in on my little secret, I don't want you to keep it that way! Spread the word! Pass it along! Tell a friend! Come check out the Landsby in Solvang!!

The rooms were very tidy upon checking in, although there was an open bottle of white wine in the room (management was made aware of this and removed it and made note) since they have one red and one white bottle in each room available for purchase. Not sure why one was open but they handled that. They've got elevators and a couple balconies around the property that overlook different places. Would recommend staying here if you're ever in solvang.

The buildings are just three stories and unlike some other worldmark resorts it didn't feel very crowded. Good food, a little shit store shopping and naps, mostly due to health reasons for me. I need rest throughout the day. Which involves a TV for husband to watch. I've thought about how I could have made this better and I can't come up with anything. We aren't techie so giving this place with " invisible service" a try was a stretch for us. First we couldn't find it. They answered our text immediately. Doing good. Received all the check in instructions. Good Elevator for 2, tiny, carpet needs update. Arrived at room everything going good. The room was very large, bathroom beautiful (new towels nice and fluffy if YKYK), sitting room very dated with red shiny walls, eclectic furnishings, stained carpet and a large TV in the bedroom and sitting area. The bed was super comfy but wait I'm getting ahead of myself. We put down our suitcases and left for shopping and dinner. Dinner was excellent at "Whiskey and Rye" returned to the room tiered ready to watch some TV. After trying several attempts to get it working and SEVERAL texts with no answer. (I know you're thinking she said they were not techie) we were informed that the TV doesn't work in the sitting area but the bedroom TV does work. No it does not. Next problem, I was freezing. Can't get the thermostat to change to heat. After SEVERAL texts AGAIN WITH OUT RESPONSE. I called and got ahold a a very rude person. She informs me that the handyman is out to lunch. What? It's now after 8:30PM. I said let me guess he won't be back until morning? She says " noooooowah" but she can't tell me when someone will come. Because she doesn't know when his lunch hour will be over. So I'm pissed. INVISIBLE SERVICE does not have someone available 24/7 to help you like normal hotels. My options were stay in this crappy room or check out. I could just find another hotel but that means check out at 11 And no check in until 4, no rest for me, which I must have to not crash. So we checked out and went home. Btw they did give us a 15% Off for the inconvenience. Just hire some people to either be on the premises, or live up to your advertised customer service and have someone answer text messages. Or fix the TV before you rent the room. We were so lucky our room was over a bar and next to the busy road. This is what happens when we put people out of work in favor of technology.
