This was such an amazing experience. Beautiful April sun-shine and weather. We will be back!!! Sometime after we booked the stay, the concierge reached out and was able to provide out activity itinerary. The check in was easy and we were honestly pleasantly surprised that we were given real keys to out lodging. The lodging was amazing. Clean and spacious 1-bedroom suite, bunk beds for our teenagera in the living area. Cute little fire place. The entire facility was beautiful and well maintained. Other than the lake the resort was an easy walk. Highly recommend the e-bike to tour the mountain. The horse back riding was good for us beginners. The lake side activity was so much fun.

Best of the best in the Santa Yanez valley. Words cannot describe the joy and happiness Alisal brings to my family. A yearly trip here is never enough but always appreciated and needed.

This is our second time visiting the ranch. It's such a magical place. Everywhere you turn their beauty. The rooms are something out of architectural digest most of all everybody who works. There is amazing and super helpful. The food is top-notch and so are the cocktails the hayride out to the Adobe breakfast was super fun, especially with the cowboy poetry. Of course you'll have to do the horseback riding as well and most of all just relax and enjoy.!!

Fire place in our suite. They will replenish the starter sticks if you run out.

Gorgeous and breathtaking! From the suite to dining, to the outdoor activities... everything you could hope for in a Dude Ranch is here at Alisal. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have horseback riding, e-biking, hiking, archery, air rifle, fishing, kayaking, and a rodeo. We did it all! The suite had a fireplace, which gave to the ambiance of the stay. I would definitely come here again!!

Came for a weekend getaway after schools started back up to avoid the crowds. I actually had low expectations as someone who prefers higher end hotels. I fell in love with the place and hope to come back annually. Wife and kids loved it too. It was during an unusually bad heat wave but even still... the horseback riding, Archery, Air rifles were all great and the staff were super friendly. The Ranch Golf course was interesting and in pretty good shape. The pool was great and helped beat the heat. Staff and service were top notch from check in to check out, top to bottom and I mean every single person on staff on property. Tip: The bar area has live music, snacks, and allows kids so it was fun for the whole family. Rooms were much nicer than I had expected being on a ranch. Dressing up for dinner made it feel special and every night dinner was a treat. All in all I highly recommend and can't wait to return because there was so many things to do that we didn't get to it all.

    Friendly horse petting.

Alisal Ranch is a standout experience; The setting and grounds showcase the unique natural beauty and rich California history of the Santa Ynez Valley. The rooms are beautifully appointed with the finest quality materials and amenities in a warm, classy western style. The Oak Room Bar is a great way to start or end your evening; great live entertainment. Our bartender, Ian, was so charming and knowledgeable. Jack the Restaurant manager, Maria our dinner server was warm and delightful. The food quality is excellent and included along with gratuities in the package price. Lovely piano accompaniment to farm fresh locally sourced gourmet ingredients. The bath robes are unique; fashioned from gorgeous soft indigo denim and lined in cozy luxurious chenille. The resident mousers, Tom and Jerry are super cute friendly kitties. The horses and other ranch critters make this a memorable time for animal lovers of all ages. This was a return visit for us and we plan to return again next May.

It's a super cute Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel in an ideal location -- walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, and sights in downtown Solvang, with easy and free self-parking. We were able to use points for a free stay and were pleasantly surprised by every aspect of the stay. The pool area was a highlight, especially with kids. The pool was clean and well maintained, with plenty of towels, umbrellas, loungers, and cabanas available even during the peak afternoon sun. The staff came around with cold waters and Otter Pops for the kids, which was such a thoughtful touch and made it feel a little more special. Our room was clean and modern with plenty of space for our family of four, plus a large patio facing the pool that we really enjoyed. There was some visible water damage in the bathroom, and you can tell that underneath the renovations the property has the bones of an older motel-style building. That said, it's been updated really well and is probably about as nice as you could imagine a hotel of this style being in Solvang. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. Another small detail we loved was the privacy doorbell system on each room rather than having housekeeping knock loudly on the door -- especially nice when traveling with kids. There's also a restaurant connected to the hotel that offers room service and can deliver food right to the pool, which is incredibly convenient when everyone is having too much fun swimming to get dressed and go out. Overall, Hotel Corque hits a really nice balance: cute and upscale without being stuffy, extremely convenient, family-friendly, and right in the heart of Solvang. We'd definitely stay here again.

I am going to let you in on a little secret…read more... Yeah, I'm going to share with you what i THINK is the best kind of getaway, well, at least in my humble opinion. It's the kind that doesn't abruptly end, but it just sort of.... keeps on going. Let me explain. Have you ever gone on vacation and said to yourself, or to your spouse or even to your kids.... "Gee, I could have really used one more night" Or Let out the exaggerated (Ughh)... "I don't want to go back to work tomorrow, I wish we could just extend our trip by just one more day" Well... On a recent trip with my family, We INTENTIONALLY did just that. My wife booked us a 2 night stay in Paso Robles at a beautiful boutique style/chain hotel. (The Ava Hotel in Paso) (Check out my review for the deets) Usually, when we do these short, weekend trips, I work up until the day of our trip and then go back the very next day once we return... But, NOT THIS TIME! Yeah, This time, my wife intentionally told me, let's book one more night on the way home from our trip in Paso just to break up the drive home and enjoy one more day off of work and time with the fam. Heck, I've got loads of PTO and who wants to be at work anyway, so it wasn't too hard to twist my arm on this one. And just like that.... Solvang, Here we Come! Yes, the cute, quaint town of Solvang is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or even just for a one night stay like we did. Of course, my wife, the Queen of finding the best places to stay/eat... (AND I AM THE ONE WHO IS THE "ELITE" haha) booked us a room at the Landsby hotel and it was nothing short of a treat. Here's why: The Landsby is more than just a room... Inside of a hotel... Located in the heart of this Danish town known as: SOLVANG It wasn't just, "let's build a hotel where the people can stay and explore the town while they are here". At least that's not the impression it gave me! Instead, The Landsby has a Charm about, it has Character and most of all it gives you the impression that you are in a modern-day Dutch village. But one of my favorite parts.... The Room Key, keyword, "KEY" Yeah! The room key is an actual Key!!! A metal, lock and key, just like the good 'ol days! Ain't no digital, pre-programmed, modern day, technologically advanced system like every other hotel does it.... And I liked it! And to match the old school style key... The t.v is in black and white, the internet is run on dial up and the telephone is a rotary dial..... JUST KIDDING!!!! But wouldn't that be cool! Aside from the small town European vibe that the exterior of the building gives you, once you step inside both the hotel and then your room, you are immediately transported to a place that feels welcoming, familiar and most of all comfortable. Because this was a short stay (just a one nighter) we didn't take advantage of the amenities like we normally do, but next time we will. A lobby bar (our favorite place to check out), an onsite restaurant (Mad & Vin which loos really good), an outdoor courtyard to sit and relax, and complimentary cruiser bikes to explore the town. The Landsby is Pet friendly, so definitely check out their webpage for details for your furry friends. So....... Now that I've let you in on my little secret, I don't want you to keep it that way! Spread the word! Pass it along! Tell a friend! Come check out the Landsby in Solvang!!

They also had a reading lounge. Everything was artistic with great color, very new and clean. Another issue I had was that I booked through a 3rd party and prepaid room when over night I received an extra charge notification. When I called in the morning around 6:30 am I was advised no manger was available until 7 am and someone would call me then. I waited until 7:30 am as no one called me I called again. I was advised they were having systems issues with their app. Since it was a 3rd party the app was charging me the 3rd party charge. Which was $50 less what I paid to the 3rd party. I advised them I had already prepaid. They advised me they would release hold in 2-3 days. I called the 3rd party to advise the above. They called Winston staff as they shortly after sent me a text. I do believe Winston was in error to charge me while I had already paid the 3rd party. The funds were released the next day. Keep an eye on credit card notifications if stay here. Other than the above issue and Check in service I would stay here again. The room was comfortable with the exception of the balcony door not locking.

The hotel has been newly renovated, and our room was adorable, clean, and very comfortable. The staff was incredibly accommodating and quick to respond to anything we needed. They truly made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The property itself isn't huge, but they did an excellent job making the most of the space. There's a cute full-service bar with indoor and outdoor seating, a café offering breakfast, pastries, coffee, and a surprisingly good selection of food throughout the day. The lobby also has a convenient grab-and-go market, and outside you'll find a cozy fire pit lounge with games and a relaxing water feature that makes for a great place to unwind in the evening. There isn't a pool, but honestly, that's not why you come to Solvang. If you're looking for outdoor adventures, you're just a short drive from Lake Cachuma and the beach. But let's be real--most people come here for the amazing food, wine, shopping, and the charming Danish village atmosphere, and this hotel puts you close to all of it. I'm actually surprised there aren't more reviews for this property because it was completely sold out during our stay, and now I understand why. Out of the several Hilton properties I stayed at during my trip this week, this one was easily my favorite. Great job to the entire team! You all set the standard for hospitality. Hopefully, the San Francisco Hilton team can take a few notes from you!

The Hadsten is a decent motel just a short walk from the downtown area of Solvang. The rooms are…read morespacious and have been recently renovated. The bathrooms (single vanity) are large with a nice walk-in shower. There's a coffee/tea service in the room (paper cups). The room lacked a luggage holder. Overall I'd describe the Hadsten as an upscale motel rather than a hotel. Service was perfunctory and not particularly friendly.

The cocktails are excellent and wine list is great. The food is amazing. I love the French onion dip, wedge salad and mushroom toast. The smashburger is really good, my husband's favorite, and really large portions so he usually splits. Fries are so crispy, just perfection. Mud pie is sort of deconstructed, chocolate mouse, marshmallow cream, brownie, chocolate cookie pie shell and the very best coffee ice cream. Amazing. It is pricey, it is a bar in an upscale resort, so take that into consideration.

When they found out it was my birthday, they treated me very nicely and that was greatly appreciated. The Tavern is also a pretty space for dining and that made it even better. My wife had the kale salad (she loved it) and we shared the fried cauliflower and mashed potatoes (also good). The one downside was that I had the pork chop as my main and it was way overdone. It was a bit tough to eat. Otherwise Mattei's would have been 5 stars for sure. The next morning we went back and visited the coffee bar. Drinks were excellent, we got the cheesy eggs/toast which was very good and they have a nice seating area.
