What a pleasant surprise tucked away in Venice, just far enough from the busy streets to feel like a hidden gem. First of all, the restaurant is absolutely beautiful, both indoors and on the patio. From the moment we walked in, our party was greeted by a warm and welcoming hostess who accommodated us with a comfortable table on the patio. We had our small dog with us, so the outdoor seating was perfect. The weather couldn't have been better, and enjoying Mediterranean cuisine in such a beautiful setting made the experience even more special. What We Ordered Feta Burnt Jam - Delicious! The sweetness of the jam balanced perfectly with the creamy feta. Unlike many feta cheeses, theirs wasn't overly salty, making every bite incredibly enjoyable. Anchovies - Not fishy at all. This is a must-order. Layer it on top of the flatbread with some hummus and it's pure heaven. Flatbread - Warm, chewy, and the perfect companion to every dish. We used it to scoop up every last bit of sauce on the table. Tzatziki - A rich, creamy cucumber yogurt dip that was so good we found ourselves eating it by the spoonful. Spicy Feta Dip - There's something magical about whipped feta. This one has just a hint of heat, enough to add flavor without being overly spicy. Grilled Squid - Tender baby squid grilled to perfection. Simple and delicious. Chicken Skewers - Smoky, juicy, and perfectly cooked. A great protein option to pair with all the flavorful dips and sauces. Roasted Potatoes - Baby potatoes roasted on skewers, beautifully seasoned and incredibly satisfying. Even though we were completely stuffed, we couldn't leave without trying dessert. Baklava - Crispy, sweet, nutty, and everything you want from a great baklava. And definitely order the Frozen Greek Yogurt as well. While the baklava comes with a side of frozen yogurt, you'll want extra--trust me. What truly made the evening memorable was the service. Every staff member we encountered was professional, attentive, and genuinely kind. I always appreciate restaurants where the team makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive, and they absolutely delivered. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and a fantastic night out. I highly recommend Alisa Wine & Friends and can't wait to return. read more

Alisa is one of my friend's favorite spots so I was so excited to try it!! If you come in on the earlier side (before 7) it's not super busy, but then it starts to pick up after then. It's a beautifully decorated spot and really transports you to Greece. The staff are very friendly and attentive. We found parking in a lot down the street. It's family style, so we ordered several things to share. Yuzu OJ Cream Soda ($9): Caffeine free, non-alcoholic. SUPER sweet. Almost too sweet. But yummy dessert type of drink! *Refills are not free Tzatziki ($11): Really fresh, tastes good with the bread and veggies Eggplant dip ($11): This may have been my favorite??? It has a really intensely smoky garlic flavor and is best with the bread. I felt it didn't go as well with the veggies. Would come back just for this. Flatbread ($12): This bread is incredibly good, but I do feel that you should get at least 2 pieces for the price. Definitely get it with the dips. Seabass crudo agua chili ($23): Good salsa flavor with a little heat. I have no idea how much seabass costs as a fish but I do feel we could've skipped this one for the price. Chicken skewer ($23): Nicely grilled chicken with that charred flavor, not too dry!! Enough for 2 people imo. But also realistically you can get chicken skewers with sides and a drink for this price elsewhere. The sauces were good. Grilled farmer greens ($14): Very yummy, also with a chargrilled flavor. It came with broccolini, asparagus, shishito peppers, and I think some type of onion. Crudites ($8): Fresh rainbow carrots, cucumber with some sort of oil to add a little flavor. Good for health but tbh not necessary because the bread tastes better with the dips. In sum, this meal was approximately $86 per person with tax, service fee (4.7%), and 20% tip, which is pretty high for a meal without alcohol. My biggest suggestion would be to consider lowering the cost of the flatbread. Great for special occasions, or if your wallet can afford this price for a casual evening. Would be a nice spot for a celebration! Thanks Alisa! read more

Everything here was delicious. I especially loved the Greek salad, which was so fresh and flavorful. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating about making modifications, which I really appreciated. The chicken skewers were perfectly cooked, and the potatoes were amazing as well. I also loved the wine selection. Such a great spot with delicious food, great service, and a really welcoming atmosphere. read more

This place is straight out on a Pinterest board. I love the intimate and nicely lit setting. I felt like I was in someone's home. We ordered the black cod with orzo, and the Wagyu skewers. Of course we had to order their pita bread which was absolutely delicious! The Wagyu skewers were gone in no time, it was the perfect serving size to fill me up. The cod was perfectly seasoned and the orzo was the delicious, buttery texture. Never had orzo with lobster bisque before, but I'll have to try to remake that at home! The service was relatively fast and friendly. Next time, I'll have to enjoy another dish, plus a nice glass of wine. read more

Well it was my first time there took my mom out for her birthday dinner! My mom was working as professional chief and front of the house all her life in Russia/USA and super critical about food and service! Place has amazing ambiance and delicious Greek food I'm not saying it lightly probably the best Greek food you can find in La! Everything we order was delicious from bread, dips, scallops, lamb chops, coffee, tea or desert! Mika was our waitress I'm not sure if she was a sommelier or studies to be one but she's very knowledgeable about wine and we were please with the selection! Great service not easy to find! Thank you Mika! Staff has great uniform and were wearing white linen shirts giving nice coastal vibe! To my surprise I find out that this place have same owners of Ukranian small restaurants "Mama, please!" Where I went like a month ago for a Borsh and cherry dumplings that were delicious as well! read more

I love love love Alisa! I've been for both brunch and dinner and the ambiance of both are 5/5. They did an awesome job of designing the indoor and outdoor space to transport you to the chic Greek isles. The menu is limited but each item is 5/5 Must haves are their warm flat bread, any of their dips, waygu skewers and tuna crudo. They only serve wine (robust offerings), beer and sake based cocktails/spritzers. No hard liquor. Which was totally fine...the sake drinks are quite interesting and worth a try The menu pricing is a bit high for the portion size of some of the items but the quality of ingredients are exceptional quality and the service is also 5/5. Staff is attentive and super welcoming. Highly recommend more for a brunch experience and try to get a seat in their back patio...it's truly magical. read more

**Such a charming spot!** The ambiance and vibe here are amazing -- it's such a cute place to catch up with friends over drinks and small bites. I recommend sitting outside since it gives a cozy backyard feel, with lots of lime trees and comfortable seating that makes it feel super relaxed and inviting. We ordered a few appetizers -- the **eggplant hummus with flatbread** and the **bluefin tuna sashimi** -- both were absolutely delicious! Perfectly flavored and beautifully presented. For mains, the **branzino** was just okay -- nothing special, tasted like something you could easily make at home with frozen fish. The **lamb skewers** were good, but not particularly memorable. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back for the **cozy atmosphere, friendly vibe, and great apps and drinks** -- it's the perfect spot to start the night before heading somewhere else for dinner! read more

My friends and I had an absolutely wonderful time at Alisa! The standouts were the service and the food selections we chose. We were served by Nico and Alex, their professionalism, attentiveness, and kindness went beyond all expectations. Their recommendations as well made for a fantastic meal. The wagyu skewers, spicy feta, and the pitas were some of my favorites. All in all it was a truly fantastic evening. Will definitely be dining there again! read more

One of the most gorgeous restaurants I've ever been to! So so beautiful almost like you're in Europe. The food was amazing I had the wagyu as well as the squid and pita as an appetizer. My husband and I were visiting from overseas and were so happy we were able to come to this restaurant for date night. We had such a great experience! The atmosphere was beautiful and the service was excellent. Niko at the bar recommended some amazing drinks while we waited for our table, and Alex was wonderful once we were seated. Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the spicy feta, flatbread, and lamb chops. The sashimi and Greek salad were also super fresh. We had such a lovely evening and will definitely be coming back! read more

I'm giving it a 5 because of the incredible service we experienced during Valentine's Day. We needed to come as walk-ins to check if we could get a table, and the receptionist was kind enough to get us one. I appreciated that given the hectic day! It's a restaurant with natural light and a white interior. Our food came just in time although we were hungry! Our server was friendly and approachable. I have to be honest that the food is okay. It is not meant for people with a big appetite, as it comes in small servings. It did work for me, though. I have had better Mediterranean food so I couldn't say that this is special. But we did have a wonderful dinner! read more

Had such a great experience at Alisa Wine & Friends! Everything from the drinks and food to the service and atmosphere was on point. Our table wasn't ready yet, so we went to the bar for some drinks and Niko took great care of us. He recommended a few drinks for us to try and honestly, they were all amazing. Once we got seated, Alex was our server and he was awesome. He was super helpful and gave us some really good recommendations throughout the menu. The spicy feta and flatbread were SO good, the blue sashimi and Greek salad were really fresh, and the lamb chops in black cod orzo were seriously to die for. The service was great, the vibe was amazing, and we had such a good time. Definitely recommend checking this place out, and I'll definitely be coming back! read more

They served us the check for $342 and when we told them split the check the charge came up to be $396, I couldn't believe it. When we confronted them about it they were like sorry one of the waitress added something to your table. Watch out! Regardless the food was delicious and the service was excellent. But trying to charge us an extra $54 without even an apology is outrageous. read more

This was a surprising outstanding experience. It's one of the "quieter" restaurants on Abbott Kinney but the food, wine, and service were exemplary. I think it might be the best Greek / mediterranean meal I've ever had. Our server, Cherelle, was amazing and recommended all amazing choices (pita, eggplant, red pepper spread, mushrooms, Greek salad). She also recommended the lamb but I opted not to do red meat and got the black cod instead (but should've listened to her and gotten the lamb!) The bill was pricey but the food and experience was unique. I'd go here again. read more

So so so good. We started with flatbread which was unreal - a little charred on top and doughy in the middle with a little oil. The smoked tomato salad was a total standout - smokey and citrusy. The orzo was phenomenal. Steak skewers were tender and paired really well with scallops. Went for a birthday and they comp'd a really fantastic mousse (which was the best we've had - super dense and served with a little olive oil and sea salt). Atmosphere is really chic and warm. Not pretentious in that way venice restaurants can get. Cozy and warm and unique. Service was phenomenal. They accommodated a last minute reservation timing change and sat us at a great table. Will absolutely be back. read more

The food here is outstanding - must order the romesco dip, flatbread, spicy feta, and the branzino (which might be the best I've ever had). The ambience is lovely and I'd say the best place to sit is in the upstairs dining room, it's a little quieter than the downstairs. The courtyard is great too, but can get quite chilly so be prepared. Will definitely come back here but will NOT valet here ever again - it was a 10 minute wait to start and then a 15 minute wait to get the car back read more

Beautiful space and great location on Abbot Kinney. You can find street parking nearby since it's at the end of the street. It's a tapas style place so you have to get multiple items, each item had a decent price. However the food was pretty bland overall, the "smoked tomato salad" was just tomatoes and olive oil, no smoked or sweet onion on it, same with the side of the potatoes, they were just potatoes. The best tasting item were the meatballs if you're ok with the gamey taste of lamb. Overall if you're going for the space then this place is great but i was extremely underwhelmed with the food itself. read more

We came here to celebrate my dad's birthday with our family, but the evening was ruined by an extremely loud table of teenagers next to us who were yelling throughout dinner. We asked management to step in, and the manager did speak with them several times, but nothing changed. The most disappointing part was the complete lack of customer service afterward. Management knew our experience had been disrupted, yet offered no courtesy, no discount, no apology beyond speaking to the table, and no effort to make things right. Our bill was over $500, the food was mediocre at best, and we left feeling ignored rather than valued as customers. Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

This place is stunning! It feels very enchanting. Service was amazing. Wonderful staff, very accommodating and attentive. My friend Carly and I showed up on a Saturday night with no res and were able to get seated. I wish I had written down which wines we tried as they were both tasty. I had an orange and Carly had a glass of rose. Carly is GF, so we opted in for the eggplant dip, feta with roasted tomatoes, crudités, meatballs, and crudo! Kelly was an awesome server and the boys behind the bar let us try every orange on the menu. Next time will make a res to sit outside because that's definitely the vibe! Love the olive trees outside and the pillows and benches inside give very Greek island dinner esque vibes! Alisa - Greek Near Me - Venice, California

Great food, great wine, great service and cool vibe. Little on the spenny side but every dish was great.

Let me start by saying that I did HEAVY research on great Greek restaurants in LA for my man's birthday, and narrowed it down to here and a popular one in Malibu. I chose Alisa because it was a bit closer and had better (though fewer) reviews. Alisa Wine & Friends is super cute, chic Mediterranean decor with indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is a challenge like anywhere in Venice, but we found street parking a block away. We came at 7:15pm on a Sunday with a reservation and were sat pretty quickly. Every menu item we tried was pretty good, if I had to pick a favorite dish it would be the spicy feta dip, even though neither dip came with anything to dip in it and the flatbread was another $8. The Greek salad was underwhelming as was the grilled squid, definitely could have passed on both of those. I think what really killed this spot for me was the service. Evangelos was our server, and honestly everything was off. We sat for about 10-15 minutes when we first arrived after receiving water waiting to order. I ordered a bottle of pinot grigio, and instead of presenting both options, he just charged the more expensive one. The bottle was brought without an ice bucket, and I had to ask for one twice from both Evangelos and a woman who seemed like a hostess to get it to the table. My wine glass had a bug in it and I also had to ask twice to get a clean one, which the woman graciously brought over. We waited probably 20 minutes at the end to pay the bill after asking for it twice, and the table behind us had to do the same thing and cash out with the woman who was cleaning up because Evangelos was nowhere to be found. Overall, I'd expect better on every front for a $300+ dinner for two. Maybe this would be a good spot for drinks with a friend? But I wouldn't return for dinner and definitely not for a special occasion. read more

I brought my parents here for Mother's Day and had made a reservation for around 4pm. Unfortunately, we were seated at the very back of the terrace next to a large party with children running around throughout the entire back section of the restaurant. Considering the occasion, it was disappointing, especially because there were multiple other open tables available that would have provided a much nicer atmosphere for celebrating with my parents. What made the experience feel especially uncomfortable was seeing other parties who arrived after us -- including a table of younger girls who were not celebrating Mother's Day and on their phones the entire meal -- being seated in much more desirable areas while we remained tucked away in what honestly felt like the worst table in the restaurant. As someone who has lived in Venice for over five years and supported this neighborhood regularly, the experience left me questioning whether we were being unfairly treated or profiled. I do want to note that our server was very kind and attentive, and I have no complaints regarding the service itself. This feedback is specifically about the seating experience and overall hospitality on what was meant to be a special family occasion. Not worth a visit back or reco to any of my friends because of this. read more

We were having an absolutely incredible night here--the atmosphere on Abbot Kinney is great, and the overall experience was fantastic until the bill arrived. Without any warning or clear disclosure on the menu, a 4.7% service charge was tacked onto our final check. Under California law (SB 1524), restaurants are required to clearly and conspicuously disclose these types of fees before you order. Sneaking it in at the very end feels completely deceptive and instantly put a damper on what should have been a great memory. I'd love to come back for the food, but I won't support businesses that rely on sneaky billing traps. Check your receipts closely before you pay! read more

10000000000000000000/10. This place took me back to Greece. I cannot describe the feeling. It just felt so nostalgic. The interior and the exterior just immaculate. It felt so cozy. Wow! This was my first time here at this restaurant and it was amazing. It was adorable inside. It's small and has a feel like you're in an underground cave that's trendy. The service was impressive and the food was unbelievable. The chicken skewers, taziki, and sake espresso martini are the best I ever had. It is a very unique drink with a beautiful presentation. Very authentic ingredients. The bread was very tasty, hot, and made perfect. The chicken was so tender it melted in your fork. Great spot to grab small bites and drinks. Beautiful atmosphere. I will certainly being returning to try more food and drink items. read more

I really enjoyed myself and the food! I had the chicken skewers, cucumber tzatziki sauce, and pita bread that was made to perfection. It was all good and moist. The portions can be shared family style but they do not give a lot of food. The sakes expresso was marvelous! Very good taste that is different from other expresso martinis. I highly recommend they are VERY good! The service was very attentive and patient. We were there for a while and they still checked on us and didn't mind! The ambience is super cute and quaint. It's modern, the space is not too big but it's good enough room. It's really cute for date night too! They only have wine and winded based drinks. The valet parking is $14 paying with cash and $15 of you choose debit/ credit. I will come here and I do recommend! -Marshay read more

We were so excited to go to this restaurant and had waited for a special occasion to visit. The pros of this restaurant are that it's very cute and beautifully designed, they have great glassware and plate wear and everything looks very pretty and the staff was overall nice. The cons however, really left us feeling disappointed in our visit. To begin, we had made a reservation with additional information stating that we were celebrating something special. During the meal, my husband even went up to the host stand to confirm that they had the note and if they would do something special for our celebration and they said they would. The end of dinner came and no special celebration and nothing was even mentioned. Left us feeling really underwhelmed. Even if they do not provide any complementary celebration items, they should have told us when my husband spoke to them. Everything is very overpriced, three meatballs were almost $30. The appetizers and starters you have to purchase multiple items just to actually complete one dish for example. The feta comes by itself and then you have to buy the flatbread separate. The wine pours are very small and again the cheapest glass of wine was around $20. If you are not price sensitive at all, I would visit this location because again it is very pretty however, we do not feel like what we received was value for the money we paid. read more

Absolutely fantastic meal and experience here - couldn't have had a better time. Came here for our wedding anniversary and sat in the courtyard out back. We ordered the feta dip, eggplant dip, a couple flatbreads, grilled squid, halloumi, lobster orzo, and goat cheese cheesecake - plus a glass of delicious Greek red wine for me and sparkling white for my partner. Each dish was better than the last. The plates had that simple, restrained feeling of a taverna, but the sauces and seasonings were punchy and perfect. My favorites were the squid and cheesecake, and my partner loved the seafood orzo with bisque sauce - particularly how rich the lobster flavor came through in each bite. Service was friendly and prompt but not overbearing. I was expecting a hefty bill but it was completely reasonable and even inexpensive for the quality of food served. Highly, highly recommend giving this place a try. The vibes, food and wine are something to remember. read more

Honestly? A little annoying. If you're paying that much for racks of lamb the cuts shouldn't be that outrageously fatty that there are barely a few bites.
