I'm not sure what's going on with this restaurant. It used to be one of my favorites and we would eat there several times a month. During Covid we began ordering out from there, but they are cutting corners. We ordered feta and olives and it actually came with black olives? Not sure where the Mediterranean olives went, but it's a huge mistake. Who wants black olives with their hummus? I ordered a second time and specifically asked have you gotten the Mediterranean olives back in? The waitress said no it's a huge complaint but the owner won't listen to customers and doesn't care. That same take-out order, when I get home The amount of chicken curry that was in one meal wasn't even half a container, and another meal we ordered was completely missing. When I called back to see if I'd been charge for it, they put me on the phone with a man who was so unbelievably rude, and told me he was too busy to talk to me and hung up. We are done with ordering from them. It's not cheap , $60-$70 for my family, and this is the service and quality we get. So disappointing. read more

We've eaten lunch here a couple of times while passing by on I-68. Both times, we had the buffet. They have a nice variety of foods available from the ingredients for deconstructed traditional gyros, vegetables, chicken legs and thighs that have a nice smoky flavor, soup, and tasty zucchini fritters. The price is very reasonable too, at around $10 per person. Being a buffet, you can get in, eat, and be on your way quickly if wanted. The view is very interesting, being able to watch the planes come and go on the runway. Service is friendly and efficient too. read more

I grew up eating Ali Baba in the previous multiple locations they had around Morgantown over the past 25 years and couldn't wait to eat there again on my most recent visit. Supposedly the restaurant is under new management but all the recipes were the same. I really wish the owner/management was the same too as the new owner left a lot to be desired. With that being said the airport location is very nice and clean and also decorated pretty nicely. The food was also good quality and nice portions. We dined their twice in one week and had 2 different exp and both times we had a restaurants.com gift certificate and the same waiter. First dinner we had the small appetizer platter and the Dinner for 2. The appetizer platter was awesome and possibly the best samosa ever, the Kabob platter was also very good although the salad's were basically just average. The Babaganosh and Hummus both had an oddly smokey flavor like they added Chipotle in Adobo to it. They even charged us an extra .40c for additional pita bread but we let it go since we enjoyed the food and the service was pretty good. With the gc 18% gratuity was automatically included but even still we left a few extra bucks to bring it up to 20%. We left that evening looking forward to another visit before leaving town. Our second visit came later that week. We got their roughly 45 minutes before closing (9pm on a Friday). Once again we had the same server and disclosed that we had another GC. Our server was standoffish and purposefully ignored us thru dinner. Our drinks were completely empty and even after requesting refills multiple times we still didn't get them. We also weren't even given silverware for our appetizer even after requesting it. Finally we got up and walked over to an unused table and just took 2 roll ups off of it. At roughly 10 till the server came over and explained that the kitchen closed at 9 so if we wanted dinner we better order right then. We said we needed 2 more minutes and we would order when he came back with refills. At the same time a party of 4 walked in for dinner (8:50pm on a Friday Night). The female manager quickly told the table they could not be seated because they were closed. The patrons said "It says you close at 9pm and it's 8:50pm? We drove all the way up here just to eat?". The manager again turned them away in a very harsh manner and was very unapologetic. The patron's even made a comment that they would never eat their after being treated in such a manner, I can completely understand where they were coming from as technically the restaurant was open and they even made a special trip just to be turned away. When our server finally came back we again didn't get drink refills and he took our order. He quickly brought back our food but without refills again. We must has asked 5 or 6 times but he just didn't care. When we finally were getting ready to leave I asked specifically to have my refill in a togo glass as I had waited all dinner for it and was thirsty. When we went to pay we asked to speak to the manager and explained what happened and she immediately was rude and confrontational regarding the service we received and that her server wasn't ignoring us or rushing us and he deserved the 18%. She was so rude and didn't even hear what we were trying to say, based on her rudeness to us and turning the other party away I will never go back. You just can't treat customers like you are doing a favor for them. read more

Love the food and the service. Location might be tricky depending where you live, but I really enjoy watching the planes take off while I eat their delicious food. Lunch buffet is great...especially on Fridays when they have breaded cod - crispy on the outside and moist inside. read more

I have flown into Hart Airfield several times and have eaten at the restaurant about every time and when I find my way there in a car I always eat at this place. The food is fantastic. I generally get the gyro platter with baba ghanouj and tahini. Its always been perfect. The gyro meat is spiced and cooked just right. The hummus is amazing and has a wonderful slightly garlicky flavor(not overwhelming but just a hint) compared to most others I've had. Steak in a sac is awesome. I can't speak for the lunch buffet as I've never had it, but I can't imagine it would be bad. I've seen some other reviews on her saying it was bland, I'd have to disagree based on my many travels to large areas and seeking out Mediterranean food and still ranking this as one of the top ones I've been to. The other thing that makes this place is the owners. The customer service is superb. They cut up food and brought it to my young daughter on our most recent visit and were just so sweet to her. I've never had somewhere go above and beyond like they did when they didn't have to. read more

I have been here once, but was looking for it here on Yelp and couldn't find it so I added it. Don't know why it was not on yelp before, maybe because it has moved locations several times. Anyway it is now at the Morgantown Municipal Airport. I really enjoyed both the food and the service. The owner, Elias, is very accommodating and he often makes his rounds greeting patrons at their tables making sure everything is to their liking. I recommend the Baba Ghannouj, it is one of the Mediterranean salads. I tried it for the first time there and I like it even more than hummus. Also I had the lamb curry, which was outstanding and a huge portion. Definitely, gonna return there again. read more

Ali baba is a long standing Morgantown tradition, and has been the highest quality food and service every time I have visited...since 1998!! Every time you are here, the owner, Alias, is always visible, and so friendly, he makes you feel as if you are at his home.... Chris, a waiter, who I'm pretty sure works every shift, is a phenomenal server with the best food recommendations. A true Morgantown treasure, reopened under its original management. Well run & organized, prompt service. The best Middle Eastern restaurant in town, and consistently one of the best restaurants of any cuisine in the region. It's location requires a drive from campus, so the clientele is more "Morgantown" than "university". Never had a meal here I did not like, but I am especially fond of their baklava! read more

Ali Baba is now closed. I happened to go there for lunch on 6/4/2014 and the owners were just walking out of the building. I know them and they said "we are closed." I asked why, and what happened? They said "we just couldn't make it work." A shame - I liked that place but it was always nearly empty each time I went. read more

The service was good even though they have 2 waiters trying to juggle 20+ tables between them. The food is good if you don't have tastebuds or have never had Mediterranean food. I had the lunch buffet which was decently priced at $10 but the lumpy hummus, crunchy rice, bland potatoes and veggies were not worth it. Excellent Middle Eastern food, coming from someone who knows it authentically. Had the lamb shish-kebab and gyro platter. Delicious! We had so much food leftover, we were able to have another meal! I like Ali Babas and I'm glad it's back in Morgantown. Full disclosure I normally only eat there for lunch at the buffet. I traditionally avoid buffets but Ali Baba does a nice job of offering fresh meditaranian style food at a reasonable price. The buffet is small but the items are usually interesting with a daily soup that's typically rich and flavorful. They are quite skimpy on the pita bread and for some reason only bring out a small basket at a time. Typically not enough for everyone waiting in line. But the gyro meat, roasted veggues, and typically a chicken dish are enough to keep me coming back. Would be nice to see a small desert added to the buffet to finish the meal off. Overall solid. Oh, the owner is typically there to check on customers and say hello. Very pleasant place. read more

What a find! You would never have thought that an airport restaurant was this good but the food was excellent. The service excellent. The setting unexpected and the view wonderful. I will bet that on next visit this place will earn five stars. This visit was only tainted by an unfortunate exchange with a server who became impatient with a couple questions about the Turkish coffee (during lunch rush, not an excuse). The owner made it right by bringing us the Turkish coffee, which he comped (did not have to do that, but it's a kind gesture). The lamb cube dish was for the meat, but the accompanying rice/pasta mix with tomato sauce was not great but not bad. The Baba Ganoush was very nice, and the Turkish coffee decent enough (perhaps light on sediment/thickness, but tasted good: needs to be strong-tasting enough to normally justify the $3 each, although kindly comped this time). In any case, this place is a blessing to Morgantown, and I hope to visit again in January. read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Morgantown! We enjoy the gourmet dinners on Friday and Saturday evenings. The owner, Chef Mike, puts a lot of care into his food. A trained chef, he goes out of his way to get excellent quality ingredients and fresh fish. The gourmet specials are always awsome. Yes, the restaurant is in the Morgantown Airport but it is worth the drive to get there. The gyro meat is tasty and dishes are so good. The lunch time buffet is an excellent value. I love Mediterranean cuisine and I've constantly heard great reviews about this place so I thought I would check it out. I didn't get the experience of actually dining in, but had a to go order for my coworkers and myself. I ordered the gyro platter with baba ghanoush salad and hummus. I have to say it was some of the best gyro meat I've had in a while, fresh cheeses and the baba ghanoush was delicious. Next time, I would probably substitute the hummus (mainly because I'm not the biggest hummus fan) but it was still good. The host and staff were absolutely wonderful, friendly and happy to help in any way. They gave me great recommendations and accommodated me while I waited for my lunch. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because like I said I got my food to go and felt as if it was thrown in a box, not to appealing and it seemed a little expensive for the amount of food that was there. I would like to come back and experience dining in the restaurant. It's right on the runway in the airport so that's cool in it's self. Also, I never got to try the baklava, so that's something I would like to try in the future. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Morgantown! I LOVE Mediterranean style food, and there are not a lot of options in town. Ali Baba's was a favorite spot when I was in college, so I was so pleased to find it here when I moved back about 2 years ago! Their hummus is delicious, as is everything else I have tried.
