My new favorite is personally the birria tacos, as they're juicy and the broth on the side makes them even more flavorful. I can tell that I'm not the only one who has such high praises for Fresh Twist, as they are always busy when I come pick up my order. However, my food is always done within 15 mins or so as promised on the phone/uber eats. This time, they had a stand up at Strong Rope Brewery in Red Hook, and it's a lifesaving addition over there. The lovely folks behind the stand are warm, welcoming, and ready to give you what you need. And what you need is carnitas. And beef and cheese. And surprisingly, the INCREDIBLE spinach and cheese. This last one kind of stole the show, and I'm almost always a meaty Petey. Basically, pair any empanada with some of their pineapple habanero sauce and you have a serious flavor bomb on your hands. When my group stood up for me, the man threatened to fight them outside. Throughout all of this, the staff did absolutely nothing to intervene or protect me. The man proudly boasted that he is friends with the owner or bartender, Alphonso, which clearly gave him a free pass to harass a female customer. It is horrifying that a business operates this way. We had to leave just to ensure our safety.

I got 2 empanadas, a beef & chorizo, they were pretty big, but not extremely large for $4.25 each. I also got a papa rellana (the daily special), and some tamales. Everything was was pretty good, but expensive, considering my job is in a predominately Hispanic area. They sell empanadas down the block for $2 each. Honestly, I don't know if I'd patron this food truck again.
