This was by far, the most popular restaurant kiosk in the entire Market. I wasn't familiar with Alexandre Silva, but apparently he won Portugals' Top Chef and his main restaurant is the only one that has ever been awarded 6-stars by Time Out. Believe it or not, he was actually working there tonight! If you don't believe me, check out my photos!! Very impressive, as I assumed he would be at his main restaurant, but here he was, working at the Market tonight!
We got the homemade bread, along with the Bacalhau (cod) served with roasted potatoes, and greens, which I believe were turnip greens. After noticing comments from a couple of fellow Yelpers sharing how overly salted they felt the entire dish was, including the vegetables, I proactively asked them no eliminate all salt, and they gladly accommodated. Nothing was overly salted, and the fish was moist and nicely prepared. The fingerling potatoes that accompanied the dish were well prepared, as were the greens. Hubby, though, commented on how the thick filet of cod should've been better deboned. Only about 15 Euros for an entree though, that could've easily come out of a high end restaurant. We enjoyed it, but I waited about an hour for this dish. They do provide those infamous buzzers so you don't need to stand and wait, but I just stood nearby, not realizing how long the entire process would eventually take.
The Bacalhau entree was definitely good, but I don't think I'd wait in line for nearly an hour again for that, or anything else. The black ink risotto piqued my interest though, so maybe another time... read more
