I stopped by Miguel Castro e Silva in Time Out Market in Lisbon and tried their Bacalhau a Bras. The dish had a good aromatic flavour and taste to it, but there were just bits and pieces of cod. Overall, I'd give it 7.5/10, especially given the price.

The rice dish was like a soup- very watery and no flavor at all. The octopus was poached maybe (not crispy/roasted) so it was a bit gooey. This was not a dish that was on display... I had just heard that this was a good place so I thought it would be good. Do not recommend unfortunately. There was no line which should have been my first clue.

Although the picture of my wife shows she's not too enthused to try this, she really enjoyed it. And I really enjoyed it too. The bacalhau a bras is shredded cod with onion, potato and binded with an egg. It was flavorful, not salty and I enjoyed the slight crunch from the onion and potato. As you can see, it's plentiful. I really enjoyed my meal. It's been a good eating day for me in Lisbon.

A bit pricey but absolutely worth it! Ordered the famous Bacalhau a Bras and the dish did not disappoint. I have zero complaints! Very filling, delicious flavors and perfect texture. The creaminess from the eggs paired well with the fish and potatoes I had to wait a good bit to place my order and wait for my food to be ready. Very fresh and tasty! I would 100% return!

An article on best stands in Time Out market brought us here, where we tried: (4/5) Bacalhau a Bras (Codfish Bras style) - 12.50€ - This was my first time trying this dish, which is salted cod mixed with thinly sliced potato and egg. It tasted of a mild, pleasant fish-flavor, and we enjoyed it. I don't think I would order this dish again, because I tend to prefer more bold flavors but definitely worth a try. I would agree with others in suggesting that you share this dish with another person, because it can be heavy to eat an entire entree by yourself. I think this dish would be paired well with something fresh and possibly acidic to cut through the richness (hence the tuna tartare). (5/5) Tartaro de Atum (Tuna Tartare) - 10.80€ - This was great! The tuna was super fresh (reminded me of tuna in poke I've had in Hawaii), and went really well with the bed of thinly sliced cabbage & other fresh veggies (including seaweed!).

Smoked cod salad with chickpeas, dried tomato and almonds

I had a fantastic smoked cod salad here, with crunchy almonds, chickpeas, dried tomato and croutons on a bed of mixed greens. It was simple but so good. Service was very fast, as well. The Time Out Market was busy as always but we found a table right nearby to sit and enjoy and we ended up striking up a lovely conversation with a friendly Canadian gentleman who had moved to Portugal. Just a wonderful experience overall. Highly recommend.

Visited Sunday April 30,2023. Carlos Andre was the cashier who must work on improving his customer service skills. He didn't greet me or say thank you or even say how much he was charging me. I don't expect for my ass to be kissed just some common decency. A simple "thank you have a good day" or "that will be €13.50 please" goes a long way. It made me feel unwelcome and taken for granted. I had planned on trying their sandwich another day but after this experience I'll be spending my money somewhere else where I feel valued as a paying customer.

Cabbage soup OK but lacking....could not taste any cabbage??? Then it occured to me they are buying the same lame soup sold in supermarkets??? No cabbage!!Codfish cakes, what must be the worst in Lisbon? No sauce served? Looked good, nice color from frying but only tasted potatoes, no Cod??? This food is a scam portugese food booth scamming tourists.....small portions and seemingly high prices...no value! Skimpy fried calamari strips for $7.50 eu...pathetic, quality looked poor. Sardines right out of a can! Other booths looked to have higher quality. Stay away! As a chef I would not put my name here! Learn how to make Codfish cakes!!

This was my favorite food stall in Timeout Market. You get a chance to experience food from Northern Portugal in Lisbon without the travel. Rice dish - I initially came in for the Arroz de Polvo but this was no longer available. I had this rice dice instead. It was very good but the issue is there wasn't many shrimp in the dish. Bacalhau à Brás - This is a dish Portugal is famous for. This is the only place I tried it but it taste delicious. I had one more dish here but I can't remember name. I wish I had the opportunity to try more dishes here because everything looked amazing. Don't make my same mistake and try as many dishes as you can.

Loved the cabbage soup and veal pie. Delicious food overall that is nicely seasoned and served beautifully.

The restaurant was quaint and intimate , with a small buffet that easily fills you up. There were many options from a beef stew to a curry, a noodle dish with bacon, salad, and other options. They even explained the options to us. I truly wish we had more time in Lisbon because I would have definitely returned to try it again as the options differ nightly. I would definitely recommend this to all in Lisbon.

Cozy, almost romantic atmosphere. And just €16 per person for all you can eat! The menu changes nightly so here were the stars for me: Creamed cod. Might not sound appetizing but this was insanely good. Not too fishy. Veggie lasagna - really great flavors and you sneak in some vegetables. All the sides: mashed potatoes were delicious, the rice is a staple, the couscous was perfect, the carrot soup made me say DAMN! The service was amazing. The two gentleman there ran an entire packed restaurant effortlessly. Helping customers with drinks, explaining the concept and each dish to every person that came in. We washed it down with a pitcher of white sangria (drinks and desserts are extra). We literally couldn't move. We walked back to the hotel instead of taking an Uber simply to walk some of it off. One of the most memorable meals I had in Lisbon.
