Sparkling Salty Dog - made with Death's Door Gin!
    Ann L.

4 years since my last review? Definitely time to update! My older reviews still hold true so please see those as well. We always come here when in town and it's always delicious. This is what I'd refer to as an upscale supper club. They make a great old fashioned and you have your choice of a dinner salad or cup of soup with all entrees. Most entrees come with a protein, au gratin potatoes and the vegetables of the day. I usually get either the whitefish or the duck. On this visit I had the whitefish and it was absolutely delicious. It was perfectly cooked and simply prepared with lemon and butter which is exactly what goes with really fresh whitefish. They serve it with a side of tartar sauce...but I'd never do that to this lovely fish, so just left that alone. The potatoes and vegetables were good as always. Desserts are all made in house except for the key lime pie which is actually flown in from Florida. I love all their desserts, but went with the key lime pie which was amazing. They also have boozy ice cream drinks if you prefer a drinkable dessert. Service is always excellent with a good number of servers who have been with Alexander's for many years. Definitely make a reservation if you want to dine here. It's popular for a good reason.

We were really looking forward to a special birthday celebration here and we were disappointed that despite informing the hostess of the birthday, it was never acknowledged, mentioned, or celebrated with a desert. Very odd. The server was also not very informative when asked questions about the menu. The salads were good but nothing special. It would be nice if they had a cherry salad dressing? The biggest disappointment were the main courses. The seafood vol-au-vent served the lobster in its shell at the bottom of a soup like concoction. It was very difficult to eat without diving in the soup with your fingers. The bottom of the puff pastry was a soggy mess at the bottom of the bowl. Having said that the lobster cream "soup" had a nice flavor. This dish would be much improved if it was served on a plate with the sauce over the seafood rather than swimming it in a bowl. The sides were inedible! The green beans were gross, overcooked, and limp with a strong taste. The potatoes were a bland pasty dish. I substituted the wild rice and it again had no flavor whatsoever. Please offer a baked potato rather than the pasty, cold, potato mixture. The scallop dish was generous with six or seven scallops in each of our orders however, there was absolutely no pesto whatsoever. In fact, there was no seasoning at all just bland breadcrumbs. I added the cream "soup" from my sister's vol-au-vent to add flavor. Again this dish would have been so much better if they had simply grilled the scallops and added butter and lemon. The setting itself was nice with beautiful flowers outside the windows however, beware it did get very noisy. I hope a few "tweaks" are made to the seafood menu. It could be so much better. I would have to see a few updates to the menu before trying this restaurant again.

Not much to add, but always one of the most consistently delicious stop in Door County. Great service and we sat next to a window again. But many great seating options. I could sit at the bar every night and enjoy it. Had Chili-Lime salmon special tonight, and my wife had the Halibut. Both were great. Key Lime pie is a great choice!

My new favorite restaurant in Door County. Steaks were cooked perfect, the Alfredo had a quality richness to it, literally everything from the bread basket to the peanut butter chocolate dessert thingy was top notch. The family loved it. Our server was knowledgeable as well as entertaining to interact with!

Love this place! It's our "go to" supper club in Door County. We have been here probably 4-5 time and the food & service never disappoints. On this visit we started with a round of Old Fashions, had the esgargo as an appetizer, the Mushroom & artichoke soup and the sesame crusted Tuna. Finished with Key Lime pie which has an incredible crust.

Exceptional service, ambiance, and food! The menu is large and you can't go wrong with any dish. Seafood so fresh and steaks cooked perfectly. Portions are large and entrees come with a soup/salad and side. The servers are so nice and service is quick. It gives Wisconsin supper club vibes. A go to when in Door County.

We had a reservation for 6:45pm on a Friday night. We checked in and sat at the bar for 5 minutes when our buzzer rang. Our waitress was attentive and on top of everything. We started with the complimentary bread which was so good. Warm and soft! I ordered the chicken carbonara and my boyfriend ordered the cowboy steak. We both upgraded to the side Caesar salad. The salads were good. The carbonara was a very large portion but I thought it lacked flavor. It was $38 dollars and I thought that was very overpriced for the flavor. My boyfriend loved his steak. It was cooked perfectly and had lots of flavor. The side of vegetables that come with the meals were also very good.

Came up to Door County on a whim to catch the last of the peak fall foliage. After a day of hiking I was in the mood for a nice steak. I am so happy to have stumbled upon Alexander's. I didn't have a reservation but I came right at opening and found a spot at the bar, good thing I did because this restaurant filled up SO fast. My bartender Ian was so lovely to chat with and handled the hordes of people expertly. The bar is full service. My fillet melted in my mouth and was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The potatoes are next level. The asparagus was such a nice addition, and the mushrooms were sautéed very well and not too saturated with butter. Ended up chatting with some friendly locals that shared their crab cakes with me-- which were also fantastic. Altogether had an absolutely wonderful dinner on a crisp and beautiful fall evening.

Very awkward experience... I was in the ladies restroom, I used the restroom and while I was washing my hands a young man walked in (an employee) but he didn't knock or say anything. I felt very uncomfortable but said "hello" and he said hi and proceeded to go into the stalls to put toilet paper in there. I told the hostess about my experience and she literally ignored me and asked if I had a reservation. Very awkward and somewhat rude. Not sure what else to say... I've been here multiple times before and the food has been great but this recent experience was very weird.

Rude female manager. They don't honor their website advertising. We were very disappointed for our Easter experience this year.

Wow! I already need to find an excuse to visit this cute modern pizza place again!…read more All the staff were very friendly. We sat outside with our kids but inside was very clean and modern. We had cocktails and they were refreshing! The wait list for a table went fast, they told us 30 minutes but was more like 15 minutes. The crust was fantastic magical. If a pizza can feel light and delicious this is it. Sauce was fresh and tasted great! I need to go back!

I visited this past weekend over the 4th and unfortunately had a really concerning experience with…read morewhat was supposed to be a gluten-free meal. I ordered the gluten-free Rosso pizza and specifically confirmed with my server that I was gluten free. At one point, the kitchen initially brought over my pizza, and when I double checked, they told me it was NOT gluten free. Their team then took it back to the kitchen to remake with a gluten free crust. After that, my dad and fiancé received their regular pizzas while mine took another 30 or so minutes to come out. They eventually stopped eating so I wouldn't have to eat my food alone, and by then their food was cold. There were also several other order issues during the meal, including the wrong salad being brought to our table after another long wait, which is not a huge deal (it was a holiday weekend and they were busy) but it felt like our entire order was miscommunicated. What led me to write this review is I'm quite certain that the "gluten-free" pizza I was ultimately served was not actually gluten free. For the next few days after eating it, I became very sick with symptoms consistent with gluten exposure, and it honestly impacted the remainder of my time in door county. What especially raised concern for me was that our server later sent us home with another gluten-free Rosso pizza as an apology for the wait times and order mix ups, and it looked dramatically different from the pizza I had just been served. The crust, texture, and overall appearance were completely different, which made me increasingly worried I had been served the wrong order. The "gluten free" pizza I had been served (in the image attached) looks identical to my dad's regular pizza (plate behind it) and nothing like the other GF pizza crusts in the reviews. I did notice this when our server finally brought over my pizza however she did confirm it was gluten-free. I understand restaurants get busy especially over holidays and mistakes happen, and I'm not trying to be harsh or accusatory. But for customers with celiac disease or gluten intolerance, this is a serious health issue, not a preference. I really hope the restaurant takes a closer look at its gluten-free procedures and communication between the kitchen and servers, because this experience was really disappointing. Inland also does not have an email posted on their website nor can you leave a message when calling, when I tried to discuss with them directly.

I would definitely not go here with children. We made our reservation for 5:30, arrived at 5:15 per the restaurant and didn't actually eat until well after 6:00. We also ordered the option for the white fish boil (the kids meal and the adult option (as I was planning to share with my 9 month old) - both the kids meal and my meal were still Cajun. I'm guessing the actual Cajun option would have been spicier, but I could not share with my 9 month old and my 6 year old also struggled to eat her meal due to the spice level. I even confirmed on the phone prior to arriving due to some of the reviews I have seen about similar issues. The alcohol options were limited and overall for the price this meal was not worth it. I truly wanted to love and share a cool experience with my family and went away extremely disappointed
