Trying out a brand new…read moresalon right before my big day made me a little nervous, but looking back at the results, I'm so glad I did! Getting to the salon wasn't too difficult, some street parking wasn't too difficult. The salon had a cute and modern vibe to it! I was instantly seated by Tammy and she got to work. They had an iPad at each station, which really made my experience here relaxing. I had a hard gel set on, and Tammy did mention how they'd have to start clean and remove this set. I was charged for removal, which I wasn't the greatest fan of. I asked Tammy for a classic nude, white ombré with a bit of glitter on top, and she delivered! This is probably the best set of ombré nails I've ever had done!!! I've had many nail techs say how ombré nails look better on longer nails, but Tammy made things work with the nail length I was comfortable with! I was a bit skeptical of the longevity since it wasn't the hard gel I'm used to, but this set legit lasted me over FOUR WEEKS (with the exception of one nail that had gel-ex on because of some previous nail damage)! If I were in the area more often, I'd go back to Buttercup in a heartbeat!!!! They are on the pricier side, but you'll be paying for quality IMO.

So relaxing and my cuticles are thanking me. I did not opt for gel on my feet because my pedicure polish usually lasts a good long time. The atmosphere is really nice here as well. Instead, the finished nails were incredibly thick, uneven, bumpy, and had visible air bubbles. The French tips were inconsistent in shape and width, making the overall look sloppy and outdated rather than clean and refined. My thumb had already started chipping almost immediately after the appointment. Because I wasn't satisfied, I returned to ask if my concerns could be fixed. Instead of listening, the nail tech immediately argued that the look I wanted could only be achieved with Gel-X. This was confusing because I've had simple French tip gel manicures done at multiple other salons without any issues. I explained again that my main concerns weren't about the technique. It was the excessive thickness, uneven application, bumps, air bubbles, and lack of symmetry on all 5 fingers on my right hand. She then said she would file the nails thinner, but immediately started aggressively filing one of my pinky nails without paying attention to the shape or symmetry. It became noticeably uneven, and I had to stop her because I could clearly see it wasn't being corrected properly. At that point, she decided to remove the entire set and start over. Unfortunately, the experience only got worse. I have a medical condition that weakens my skin barrier and cuticles, and the way she used the cuticle e-file was extremely painful. She also removed the gel very carelessly, leaving behind a significant amount of product residue instead of fully cleaning the nails. Throughout the entire experience, I never felt confident in her gel application technique. The polish remained thick, uneven, and lacked the smooth, refined finish I expected from a professional gel manicure. Despite the poor workmanship, the discomfort during the service, and having to return because of the quality, no refund was offered. I ultimately left without getting my nails redone there because I no longer trusted the quality of the work. This experience was disappointing from both a technical and customer service standpoint, and I will not be returning.

If you have brittle, peeling nails, you should definitely book an appointment with Olga. She uses the best polish that actually strengthens your nails and will help them grow with regular maintenance. I've never had polish last as long as 4 weeks as it does after one of Olga's appointments. This means there is no polish or rough edges for me to pick at like I used to, and over time, I have learned to stop picking at them altogether. I never thought my 'man hands' could look beautiful and presentable the way they do after she's done her magic, but I catch myself admiring my own nails in mirror for at least three weeks after each appt. Most of the technicians are friendly but today and I had a technician assigned that was fairly rude but just let it go. I asked for the promo that was by the cash register. The technician looked and advised that it was no longer available. Fine, I proceeded with a different treatment Towards the end of my session, another customer came in and the manager walked up to her and told her about the promo. I said I was told it wasn't available and was met with a curt "i guess she didn't know" no apologies, no making up for it - just too bad. The customer took it and she was met with enthusiasm I was very annoyed and when I went to pay, told the manager why I was upset, she kept asking for payment and simply said she didn't know about the transaction with an 'oh well" attitude. I don't plan on returning. She responded f you're interested, you can always come back - obviously with sarcasm. My problem is the manager has a condescending attitude and obviously does not take a customer friendly approach.
