I've enjoyed the food both here as Aleka's and back when it was My Greek Kitchen. I have not found a Greek/Mediterranean restaurant I enjoy more. The hummus is the best I've ever had and hummus is a staple in my diet. I've always had a good meal and the atmosphere is nice. read more

Really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere at this place. The only complaint I had was that the pita was a little hard and not as fresh as it should be. While on a business trip to Plattsburgh it was suggested that I stop in to this establishment. My husband and I sat at the bar. The wine pours are generous - great selection. My husband and I shared the antipasta salad along with the cheese and pepperoni pizza. The salad was piled high with meats, feta cheese, pepperoncino, tuna, tomatoes and olives - enough for four people! The pizza sauce was great - the crust even better! Love Aleka's! Great place to catch a bite with friends. Their outdoor seating is fun and the falafel salad is a must! The only reason why I do not give a 5 star review is that sometimes it takes a while and the consistency of the food could be better. Sometime's it's amazing and sometimes it's "alright". Attended my 1st SUNY Plattsburgh Graduation, Sat. May 18, 2019. Since I work at the Plattsburgh Branch Campus in Queensbury, Exit 19 of the Northway I87 (toll-free highway from Albany to Montreal) & had friends whose son was graduating, wanted to see how "Main Campus" does "graduation". I've been here several times in the past & have nothing to say but WOW! Some of the best Greek food I've ever eaten (& I'm Greek so lots of relatives' food) & of course the Greek Festival every May at St. Sophia's Greek Church in Albany NY. I told my hosts, who had never experienced eating at Aleka's although their son had been at College for the past 3 years, "We have to go to Aleka's for dinner Friday night! You will enjoy it, I guarantee it!" They agreed and off we went...approx 5:30 pm. Were greeted by very friendly wait staff (4 of us) who gave us menus and said she'd be right back. Place was pretty full but right after we sat down, a crowd came & filled up the rest of the tables & a few folks waited by the door. We ordered Drinks, they had a few beers & I had soda. Group appitizers, calamari/spanikopita/and dolmothas w/feta. They raved about all of these & went on to order the Greek Chicken, which was deemed "delicious", the Greek Burger, cooked just right, was so juicy & was topped w/spinach & feta served wrapped in a pita bread. How Unique & it did not fall apart! Since we had enjoyed so many apps, the mom asked if I would like to share it. I had other half. I had never had it...YUM! (I don't eat a lot of beef. Just prefer fish & chicken.) Graduate had the Lebonese dinner/sandwich and like that as well. I stuck w/my Favs...spanikopita & dolmathas...they never disappoint! Just the way my "YiaYia" used to make. They were happy I had recommended it & Said they really enjoyed dining there! When the bill came, the Dad said, "wow all that food & beer, & it only came to under $100?" So thank you Peter for such an enjoyable "Graduation Dinner"!!! We will be back for sure! ; ) read more

I have not received out food after waiting 45 minutes. They seem to be either very disorganized or understaffed. The close at 8pm and have been denying tables service starting at 7:15pm because they said their kitchen closes at 8pm. If I was the owner I would be very very upset that my staff was denying service just because the kitchen was backed up. There were at least 4 tables denied. At least say there's is a long wait and give them a choice. Possible good profit. read more

This place is known for their Sangria's although I have had better ones other places. They have very large pasta dishes it's a Greek restaurant I've ordered a couple of their pasta dishes including the shrimp veggie and wasn't so thrilled more pasta than me and sauce of course. First time visit. Very pleased with the selection of Greek dishes. Ordered the gyro with fries and the falafel salad. The gyro was packed with meat and the fries were plentiful. The falafel salad was a fresh variety of everything greek. *I would have to say this is the restaurants best bet.* The little bit of everything on the plate was fresh and full of flavor. Served with flat bread and garlicky taziki. Squeezed in some shared baklava for desert. The baklava was just ok but being served warm was really nice. Stopped in on our way home from Montreal and we got the mussels in spinach/feta/garlic sauce and the sampler platter. Everything was absolutely delicious and a great variety with the sampler platter. The mussels were tender and perfectly cooked without a hint of sand. The "sauce" was so flavorful we were licking it off the shells. The portions were generous and these two items split between two people left us happily full. Will definitely be back on our way through again! read more

What a bad place to go not even that busy waited 25 minutes to get a drink and have been here an hour and still no food people after us have received their food. I can't even get an appetizer what a horrible place to go too then they yell at you when your upset cause you have waited an hour for an appetizer very unprofessional establishment I live in Boston and I'm used to fine dining I also know how to run a business I own 3 . I understand incompetence with staff first of all a bar tender should never leave their bar their one and only job should be filling sodas for waitresses and making drinks for customers at bar only. A waitress should always ask are your mega fries your meal or an appetizer. And finally a aggressive cook should always stay in the kitchen and be seen not heard and never come out screeming at a customer sad that me the customer had more respect for the other customers and was smart enough to just remove myself from the equation and proceed to Anthony's restaurant the best place in Plattsburgh to eat. read more

Excellent Greek food! We have eaten a lot of Greek at a lot of great Greek restaurants and this definitely held its own. We had a gyro and fries and Greek salad with gyro meat. The salad was very fresh and gigantic :) and the gyro was awesome with nice crispy fries, just how we happen to like them. The servers were very friendly but seemed overworked. A full restaurant with only two waitresses and one pulling double duty as bartender also. The time it took didn't bother us this evening though, we were not in a rush. Grilled calamari was very well made and the village salad was fresh and tasty.y daughter had a cheese pizza and she declared the crust was some of the best she'd ever had-and this woman has eaten a lot of good pizza! Went here earlier in the week. Have been here a few times before. My girlfriend likes the place I don't. Slow service and not very attentive. Good is subpar and super salty. Orderd a half pound Greek steak. Def wasn't a half pound and the feta cheese mixture on top was gross. Pretty disappointed every time I go. Two stars because the food is actually good. Management of the place is awful. Have been in several times in the past 3 months and have had awful service, but no fault of the servers - the latest was calling in an order on a Friday night, food was ready but then waited almost 20 minutes while the server tried to get change for me (I just needed $5 back), asking all staff if they had cash, seating people, getting people drinks, etc. I eventually left and had to come back with a debit card because there was NO CHANGE on a Friday night and I'd been waiting with my food in hand for 20 minutes while the servers ran around. Not the servers' fault; no manager on duty. All of my complaints have to do with the servers busting to make do with what seems like a poorly managed place. read more

Visiting out town and looking for a solid, welcoming place to hang my hat and enjoy a good pour of wine and real food. I found it in Aleka's. Bartender was very friendly and poured a very generous glass of wine. The soup and spinach pie dish hit the spot. Wonderful meal and very pleasant staff - all for under 30 bucks.
