Chicken Street Tacos
Porschea W.

My wife and I came to Ale & Ivy for the first time yesterday (a Tuesday night) after the Astros game, and we absolutely enjoyed our experience. We were greeted & seated immediately after walking in, this place is pretty huge! The service was great, our server was Chloe and she was really sweet and attentive. For it to be a Tuesday, it was pretty busy - I can imagine the weekends bringing an even nicer vibe. The bar is pretty big as well, plenty of TVs around the establishment for easy viewing of sports. For sports fans, there's also a small seating area consisting of comfy chairs in front of the big TV. We ordered quite a bit since it was our first time, there's so much on the menu to choose from! Personally, the chicken street tacos were very good to me - not dry with good flavor & a little kick. The loaded baked potato fries were delicious! The fried calamari was top notch. The buffalo chicken pizza was BY FAR our favorite!!! We see why everyone was ordering pizzas. We also ordered cocktails: 1) Strawberry Cheesecake Martini 2) Watermelon flavored Ranch Water and 3) Blueberry Mojito. Presentation and flavor profile on the drinks were 10/10. We didn't have any complaints, and will most definitely be back.

Went on Tomahawk Tuesday but saw no signage for the event at the place. Had to ask our waitress if it was even going on. So online they advertise tomahawk steak for $55 but waitress says it's $60. Sheesh. And it's also ala cart. Dang, for half that price I can hit a churrascaria and get an awesome pre-meat buffet to boot. I wanted to have a positive experience here, so I decided not to order it because I just sensed only disappointment would ensue. They also have a ribeye special Tuesday. Online they advertise for $18.99. But waitress said it's which is now $20.99! Yo!! Really starting to piss me off with the outdated prices online. They really need to update them! Mashed potatoes and side salad included. But if you agree to the loaded mashed potatoes it's an extra $2 (I only discovered this when the check came out). And the salad comes out pre-tossed so no way to control the amount of dressing on it. How was it? Tough AF. It looked really good but my kid couldn't even swallow the bites she cut off. She had to spit each one out eventually. I thought she was being totally ridiculous. So I tried it myself. Whelp she was right! every bite I felt like a cow chewing grass. Like the energizer bunny, chewing on and on and on. Like chewing gum. Then the final swallow was difficult because you just can't grind it down. WTF. There's a happy hour where chicken street tacos are $3 off the regular price. Buffalo fries and mozzarella bites as well as queso are discounted and some drink specials. 4-7 pm. We got the tacos and the meat was dry AF. I'm sorry I just really wanted to love it but it was so incredibly dry. Ain't no street taco I've ever had. Usually they're moist and greasy AF. Just the opposite here though. Staff is uniformed. My kid said it reminded her of twin peaks but I beg to differ. However they were more friendly than twin peaks staff. They have a couple of pool tables. Other games as well like corn hole toss. Many tv's. Private dining area. And an outdoor patio. Ambiance is nice. But food just sucks. Sorry. Maybe id come for drinks. And then once I'm drunk enough the food would be edible. But otherwise we wont be back for dinner again.

Nice spot with large TVs, indoor entertainment, and a patio area. Excellent for watching football. The fried pickles are great, the siracha ranch has a nice kick to it. The wings are large, and the buffalo mac is tasty. Large beer selection as well

From the cheeky puns, to the luscious lounge, expansive bar, games, and decor, this restaurant is surely a Woodlands standout. Apart from the that above, the weekly specials and happy hour seem worthy of the drive alone. Unfortunately, my excitement dwindled with the service and food. -We had to flag our waitress down numerous times -we were not given the option to try any beer before making a selection -the queso had an odd flavor and texture -the tacos were a Texas miss -the burgers/sliders-very good! -given the experience I skipped dessert (a rare sentence from this sweet tooth) All of that being said, maybe we experienced a one off. Either way, I wish them the best! I'll likely drop in again when I'm in the mood for a good slider!

Ambiance: Aesthetic bar & restaurant with a large center bar and a number of high top and regular seating options. Ale & Ivy offers arcade games, a large patio with ample seating, a lounge area, and themed events like weekly live music. Their food and drink options are great! The cocktails are always unique - although a bit pricey. I highly recommend their Thursday "Girl Dinner" which serves salad & French fries in a giant martini glass. The space does get crowded so I recommend planning ahead for large groups. Parking onsite. Friendly service and clean bathrooms. A great spot for socializing and hanging out!

Ivy and Ale is such a vibe! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and fun. The music was on point--great variety that added to the overall energy without being too loud. One of the things I really appreciated was the diverse crowd--young, older, in-between--it felt comfortable and welcoming for everyone. The space itself is super cute and thoughtfully designed. There's an open bar, TVs everywhere for the sports fans, cozy couches, and even an outdoor area if you want to hang outside. They also had basketball games going on, so there's a little something for everyone. We ordered a few things to share, and the food didn't disappoint. The smash burger? Absolutely amazing. The pizza? Off the chain. We also got the crawfish--price was very reasonable and the portion was great. The seasoning was a bit different than I'm used to--maybe turmeric?--so it wasn't my absolute favorite, but still solid (7/10 flavor-wise). Our waitress did forget our waters, but honestly, everything else was smooth, so it didn't throw the night off. Drinks were simple but good--I had a seltzer and my husband had a blackberry Sprite. The bar options are wide open, though, so next time we'll explore a bit more. All in all, Ivy and Ale is a strong 9/10 for me. Great food, fun energy, lots to do, and a perfect spot to unwind. Definitely planning to come back for brunch sometime soon!

I had a good experience at ale & ivy. The vibe was really nice, but the food was just ok. Service was good as well. I stopped into ale & ivy on a Thursday night. It was moderately busy, but there are a lot of tables (so don't worry about making a reservation). The ambiance was really nice. It was a large interior space with tables & lots of TVs. They had a lot of games (pool, karaoke room, corn hole, arcade games). The music was pretty good and a bit loud. A nice bar space :) I got the backyard sliders. They were ok. Nothing blew me away but it was pretty good. We also got the street corn dip & chips. It was a bit of an interesting presentation but tasted decent. Drinks were very good. I'd try something else if I came back here. But the ambiance was so great, I'll probably come back for happy hour with my coworkers.

Crispy deviled eggs

Recently had lunch with my wife here. The staff was very nice and our server was very attentive. The ambiance was sports bar influenced and very tasteful. We had the crispy deviled eggs and queso and chips for appetizers. The eggs were absolutely delicious, but we found the queso a little on the spicy side, of course that was just us and others might really enjoy it. We both had burgers for our main course. I had sliders and my wife had a huge cheese burger. The meals were both absolutely delicious and very filling. All in all we highly suggest giving this business a try we're sue you won't be disappointed!

We came here after a work team building event. The food here was surprisingly good given that I usually have low expectations of bar food. The chicken wings were my favorite as they were very generous in size and the ranch was extra delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. There's plenty of free parking. My coworkers have been here many times for the karaoke and I've heard that it's a blast. I'll have to come back for that next time.

After pottery, we slid over to Ale & Ivy at her suggestion, and honestly... solid call. We did a little musical chairs at the bar at first (you know the drill--hover, smile, hope someone gets up ), but ended up claiming a spot in the lounge area right in front of this massive screen TV. And let me tell you--that shift made all the difference. It gave us the relaxed, low-pressure vibe we needed to actually talk and enjoy each other's company without feeling rushed or crowded. We ordered a round of drinks and a few appetizers: Three pepper queso (definitely a win) Cheeseburger egg rolls (yes... and yes again) Crab egg rolls (...we'll just say these didn't make the highlight reel) Everything hit except the crab egg rolls--they just weren't giving what they were supposed to give. What I really liked about this spot is that it's not just a sit-and-eat place--it's an experience. They've got pool tables, basketball hoop games, cornhole, and even karaoke studios. We didn't tap into that this time, but trust--we already said next visit is game night. There's also outdoor seating if you want to switch up the vibe. Overall, this was a great place to close out a first date. Good energy, plenty to do, and enough flexibility to make the night what you want it to be. We'll definitely be back... and next time, somebody's getting beat in cornhole

Currently here for St Patrick's day and the hosts at the front were so unwelcoming and completely unhelpful. Sat multiple people who weren't on the waitlist not sure if they were their friends or they paid them money to get sat but extremely disappointed that this is my first time here and this is my first impression when I walked in the door. Green beer is always good tho ! Prob never coming back tho.

Tuesday is Tomahawk steak night!

I've been going to Ale & Ivy since they opened. I go there for three reasons: great food (they are always improving their menu), great drinks (I've been all over the world and I've never had a better smoked old-fashioned - get the Mesquite smoked with an orange twist!), and one of their most experienced servers who has also been there since they opened: Karter. Karter makes you feel welcomed, she has great recommendations and friendly service. Whenever I come in, I ask to sit in her section. I brought a group of friends in to eat and all six of them commented on her professionalism and great energy. Ask for her!

Yard House has a fun, energetic vibe that makes it a great place to get together with family and friends. The modern atmosphere and welcoming environment create the perfect setting to enjoy good food, great conversations, and a night out. It's lively without feeling overwhelming, and you can comfortably enjoy your time without feeling rushed. Now, let's talk about the real highlight of our visit: our incredible server, Armin! Armin was pretty freaking awesome! From the moment he started taking care of our table, his personality and positive energy stood out. He was friendly, personable, extremely attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what he was doing. He checked on our group numerous times throughout the evening, made sure everyone had everything they needed, and never once made us feel like we needed to hurry up and leave. That's the kind of service that really makes a difference! What made our visit even more memorable was how Armin helped us celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday. He got our entire group singing Happy Birthday and surprised her with a complimentary dessert! It was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture that made the celebration even more special. Great service can completely transform a dining experience, and Armin absolutely proved that. His attention to detail, genuine hospitality, and amazing personality turned an already enjoyable evening into something truly memorable. If you're visiting Yard House in The Woodlands, especially for a birthday, celebration, or just a fun night out, I highly recommend it. And if you have the opportunity, ask for Armin! He's the kind of server who makes you want to come back. Thank you, Armin, for going above and beyond and making our evening such a great experience. Yard House is lucky to have you!

We ordered the Parmesan truffle fries and crispy brussel sprouts for appetizers and we shared the Nashville hot chicken and pancakes. The fries were just ok but the brussel sprouts and chicken with sweet potato pancakes were great. I really enjoyed the apple cider syrup with the pancakes. My husband ordered an old fashioned but he thought it was too sweet. I liked that there was a small kiosk at our table for calling the waitress but unfortunately we did not have great service, possibly due to the restaurant being so busy. The small kiosk was helpful for paying our check when we were ready vs having to wait for someone to come back to the table.

Sounds like a pretty decent deal, right? Well, let's break that down. My steak was thin and small, and the quality wasn't great. The meat was tough. Like chuck steak. The asparagus side consisted of five small, wilted, sad-looking pieces. The first was so tough at the bottom that I gave up on the bottoms of the other four. Not exactly an impressive showing. My kid's steak was admittedly a little bigger but not thicker. I asked if fries as a side were extra and she said yes. I said how about mac and cheese is that "included". The server said yes. Then the bill came, and there was an extra $2 charge! I reminded her that she'd told me it was included. Her response? Yes, it was included in the sense that you could get it with the steak. It just cost extra. I don't know what fairytale land that definition of "included" comes from, but in the real world, being available as an add-on is NOT the same thing as being included in the price. And given the context of our fries discussion makes it even worse. Between the tough steak, sad asparagus, and the "confusion" (or dishonesty) over what "included" means, this steak night left me with indigestion. I still tipped in full but we won't be back.
