I was really surprised with this place, not for the better though. I thought that since this was in Tujunga that it would be a lot cheaper since it isn't exactly the best area. This grocery store is really nice from the outside, clean and modern looking, once I got inside that wasn't the case. I felt like I was shopping in an empty warehouse. Maybe it's just me, but I really prefer the cleanliness and fullness of Vons. In any case, shopping here made me really appreciate living in Glendale. I never thought that was happen....ever. They don't have half the stuff here that I normally like to buy, and all their vegetarian stuff is extremely over priced. You'd think that at Albertsons that it would be a cheaper grocery store, can't ever over how expensive it is! Luckily, I only visited this place because I was in the area (had to visit my favorite PetSmart store) so I most likely wont ever come back here again, not unless I have to. read more

It seems like they never recovered from COVID. They are always out of products with empty spaces on the shelves. Cashier asks "did you find everything ok?". Answer is always no, but nothing gets done about it. Lines are always super long unless you go early morning or late in the day. I'm done and will drive farther to another store. read more

I paid with my credit card and just wanted to get my receipt and leave but he was peeling his cuticles on his nail while working and serving a customer. This review is for their bakery dept. I've had them make me two cakes on separate occasions both of them customized by myself and they did an amazing time both times. The people who work in bakery are so nice and took the time to fully understand what I wanted and exceeded my expectations both times. So happy and their prices are so reasonable anywhere else I know these cakes would have cost me double if not triple what I paid at Albertsons and they are also very delicious. Worked here about a few months ago horrible place to work. Todd worse manager you can work for if your a male he treats you like shit and makes only males do all the hard work while he's in the offic talking to the female workers, got very very upset when I asked for water after making me do carts for an hour in 100+ degree weather, No one actually does the sweep their correctly. No one would take out the trashes, wouldn't ever go do carts until the rack was empty, unsanitary during covidWorkers would eat some of the deli meat while on the job. As for Dean man talk about sexual harassment, always flirting with customers making them feel uncomfortable as I would know bc I would talk to the customers while leaving. All in all worse place to shop even to work here sucks. All the managers except Michelle need a reality and personality check. As for Brandon fuk that weirdo always following people around the store what a freak. I have always enjoyed the staff and layout of this store. We buy our groceries most often on a Sunday morning. Today I landed in the produce aisle as usual and I was Whoa! Hey look at the new organic section!! Joel from the department happened to be there and I was thrilled to let him know how amazing this is. Instead of a smaller section toward the back, the entire front area has organics integrated. I got some wonderful organic strawberries and blueberries as well as cucumbers for our spa water at work. So another neat thing I saw was pre sliced beets: I like using beets but prep time takes so long. Joel did tell me that if you have requests for special organic items he will gladly entertain requests. It looks super and the staff are responsive and want us to be happy. I usually don't trek all the way to other places but this removes the need for going to other places to get specialty organics. read more

My family has been shopping at this location for the past 23 years, but no more. We would boast that no one has the quality of service and products of Albertsons, but I guess that also no longer applies. Today my wife went to get flowers and had the worse experience ever. She picked up couple of flowers and baby breaths to be wrapped at the floral dept and the lady helping, was clueless of what to do, and claimed she was filling in for the regular attendee. This is after she passed her couple of times without acknowledgement and finally asked if my wife needed assistance. Upon picking a fancy wrapping paper, the lady commented, that it was an additional cost which my wife then picked just picked the basic, clear regular transparent wrap. Upon checkout the cashier charged her an extra $5 and when my wife asked why as it used to be complimentary, the cashier replied "nothing is free" in an condescending manner. Albertsons needs to properly cross train it's team members to be courteous and understand that they're not the only game in town- specially in this economy. read more

Tammy is always sweet. I get happy when I see her working behind a register. The homeless couple that usually frequents this Albertsons hasn't been there the last few times that I've been and that's a good thing. The woman, Mary I believe is her name is nice enough. Usually drunk, despondent, or just down right confusing, but always happy to see me. Her male companion on the other hand has changed. He seems angry. I don't know what happened, and Even though Mary tried to explain (I can barely understand her she's deaf) I want no parts of it. I support the homeless, but refuse to be pulled unwillingly into some drama that doesn't involve me. I came last night to purchase halibut for dinner. What Albertsons had were 3 puny pieces of less than 5 oz @ $14 each. Employee claimed that was all they had after refusing to look in the back for better quality. I left and purchase a pound of halibut for $24 at Ralph's in La Crescenta. Staff is abservely helpful AND they know the store. The shelves are well stocked NICELY with a good selection. Should there be a problem , they fix it. Produce is arranged with fresh fruits and vegetables. And, the guys and girl people like what they do so they have answers. I've NEVER have gotten an "I don't know" from anyone. I've only gotten answer or an "We'll order it , SIR " I have been shopping there since the 70's and have only needed to talk to a Manage once, and SHE (no glass ceiling here ) was Wonderful and made the experience pleasant. Customer service at this store is good from some employees but horrible from upper management. The sushi is good occasionally so I decided to get a few rolls for lunch today but when I got back and started eating I realized the avocado they used was black and brown, far past it's shelf life and they specifically put one piece of sushi showing that looked good to trick you into buying it even thought the rest of the roll is disgusting. On top of that the rice was as hard as a rock. Honestly not sure if they even cooked it. This is not even close to the first time this has happened and every time I've complained about it they don't even say sorry they say it's my fault for not looking at it first(even though they actively hide the bad parts). Not only is the "fresh food" not fresh I've also purchased an unacceptable amount of expired items from them in the past few months and am continuing to find expired items on the shelves literally every single time I visit. Believe it or not, this review wouldn't be a bad one to have. So here's the problem...Albertson's happens to make THE BEST tapioca pudding on the face of the earth. I only know this because a coworker told me. I decided to go to my local store and give it a try after her incessant raving. OMG! That stuff is seriously the bomb. The problem however, is that they never freaking have any! There are actually a few issues with the supply chain, so here goes: A) you stopped making larger containers of it and now only offer teensy tiny, shitty little containers, that you charge more money for. This is total bullshit, just stop that. B) you only make like 2 of those crappy little containers each day and they must sell out immediately, because you NEVER have any! C) you make tons of the really horrid flavors that literally no one ever buys. There are always shelves full of butterscotch, chocolate, banana, and rice pudding. Stop making that shit! No one buys it! You must throw it all away. Spend your time and resources to make lots more tapioca...you know, the stuff people actually WANT and will spend money on. * sidebar - have you ever actually eaten that rice pudding Albertson's folks? I bought it once just to see if it was any good because you were of course, out of tapioca. That is some truly horrid shit, no one will ever eat that. Stop making it. D) I've spoken to the store manager about this before - it is impossible to find anyone in the store who knows anything about this. The folks who work in the deli that make the marvelous tapioca, leave at like noon and no one in the entire store can help you after that. I have a proposed solution for you. I would truly appreciate you giving me your recipe or even letting me come in and spend a few minutes with your people so they can show me how they make it. (I'm a gourmet cook, this should take me like 5 minutes to figure out). OR, have them make a hell of a lot more tapioca on a very consistent basis. And PLEASE, offer it in the larger containers again, not these teeny little happy meal sized cups for a ridiculous amount of money. That's serious bullshit. I truly hope you contact me and are able to help me out. I mean, this is a great thing for you...you actually make the best version of tapioca that exists. And LOTS of people think that. This is my local grocery store and I shop here daily. Plusses, its close to the house and prices seem lower than other neighborhood markets. Staff is wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Their bakery leaves something to be desired. The baked goods taste very commercial and are UNINSPIRED! Produce is generally better than Von's or Ralph's locally, but once in awhile you'll find some old bunch of spinach or kale that should have been put out of its misery days ago. My husband is extremely picky about markets and this is his favorite, so its become mine, except for the bakery. I pray to the Gods of bakeries to bring some new and improved baked goods to this market and then I would be 100% satisfied. read more

Had the most pleasant customer service here. They didn't have the organic shelf stable rice milk I was looking for, so I can't rate five stars but the woman who was my cashier was so sweet. Hispanic woman, she's short, teased blonde hair. Even her bagger who was a larger Hispanic male, bald head and goatee was great. They were cracking jokes with me, I couldn't believe I haven't been in this store for so long. A bad experience with supervisor Maria down at Vons Tujunga is what forced me to come here. I refuse to go back to Vons and be mistreated by Maria or anyone else for that matter. I work too hard. Once upon a time I used to come to this Albertsons frequently. I was the woman that the local homeless community called the sandwich lady. Melinda? I believe that was the name of the supervisor at Albertsons. A middle aged Caucasian woman. This was at least 8 years ago, possibly more. She knew I was feeding the homeless and would help me get good deals on day old bakery products. Melinda became terminally ill if I'm not mistaken, then she disappeared. I think that's when I stopped coming to this Albertsons. I believe I let my imagination run wild with what may have happened to Melinda and just kind of moved on so I wouldn't have to think about it. The same happened with my quest to feed the homeless. From Murdock to JoJo, Pig to Patty, once one of my favorites was found deceased in the field near the Y it crushed my spirits and I had to move on to other endeavors. Assisting the elderly and disabled is what I do now. That involves lots of shopping. I normally would go to Vons. It's convenient, but the atmosphere there has completely changed. They allow employees to disrespect you, ignore you, and mistreat you without fear of losing their job. My experience here was completely different. It brought me back to the good old days when Melinda was here and would embrace me with open arms. I definitely wouldn't get hugged at Vons. Not that I'd want a hug from Maria, but basic customer service with a smile should always be mandatory! That's what I got here at Albertsons Tujunga. Kudos to the cashier. I lost my receipt and I'm just not good with names. She wears glasses. Very sweet. Thank you to her and her bagger. They've given me a bit of renewed faith. Two Hispanic employees treated me with the utmost respect. Unlike the Hispanic employee at their sister store. I genuinely believed this was a race issue. I'm now convinced it's just Maria. OK, the store and employees are great. Not thrilled with the digital coupons, always takes a lot of effort to claim, but that is store headquarters policy. What I am REALLY disappointed in was - going back two months - the terrible roses I received via door-dash. My son in San Fran ordered 3 dozen roses. The first dozen literally lost all the leaves while I was unwrapping, the other two dozen dead the next day. I got a refund on the first batch, didn't bother for the second batches (they didn't give me my receipt back). The deal seems to be that when there is a MAJOR event and a lot of flowers, they aren't taking care of keeping all of them in water and it's easy to dump dying ones on a delivery service. If you get flowers, do it in person! Warn your friends and family to do the same also. Tried to let this one go, but just got 6 roses from a friend yesterday and am reminded how beautiful they can be. read more

If you get prescriptions filled at this Albertsons/Sav-on.. prepare to be discriminated against. I am prescribed an anti-anxiety medication that is obviously a controlled substance (how many aren't though?). Long story short.. I had my prescriptions in my glove compartment where they were lost or stolen from my car. I got in touch with my doctor who wrote a partial emergency refill for the rest of the month due to the simple fact that you are not under any circumstances supposed to just stop taking this medication. It can cause seizures and other very scary things. I had a hand written prescription note that I brought in and was told to wait 20 minutes and that it was all fine. As soon as the 20 minutes are up.. Andrew the pharmacy tech calls me up and notifies me that he will not fill it. I proceed to explain what happened and he has the audacity to roll his eyes and tell me that "[I] need to stop taking them by the handfull". I have filled this very prescription here for years and had no problems until today. As far as I'm concerned.. this is hugely discriminatory as he has no idea how I conduct myself. The prescription was for 13 pills for the rest of the month.. why does he care? These types of medications stolen and sold all the time but he had no right to say a word as this was the only time this has ever happened to me. Needless to say.. I was fuming as I left the store and went right on down the street and filled it with no questions at CVS. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS STORE. I've been a loyal shopper for years. I'm so very glad that they reopened. It's my absolute favorite store. Darrel is my favorite. He is so nice and cheerful. My only issue is please bring back the easy do it yourself check outs. I'm so happy that we have Albertsons back in our community, when it was Haggens we never wanted to go in because prices were just outrageous. It was easy to notice there's a lot of changes through out the store taking place. I believe the Chase that was in here is now closed down, they don't have the self check out's now, and Starbucks is under construction. But I'm honestly happy to have Albertsons back, the only thing I wish is the recycling center next to it was still open, but still I'm glad to have Albertsons back. The lot is huge, we never have an issue finding parking. Now that the self-checkout stands are closed though I figure there will be day's the store get's super packed. read more

Nestled in the Foothills of the east San Fernando Valley, the backdrop of the mountains, the ambiance is great. The meat department butchers are great guys. There always seems to be a great deal on one or two awesome cuts of meat. The deli staff continually go above and beyond to ensure we are pleased. Not one complaint from me, except for the speed bumps on the walkways out of the store into the parking lots, it feels like my cart has a deathwobble.
