Not sure why this Ralph's location has so many one star reviews. I have been going to this Location for years since it's the closest to my house and never have issues. Store is always well stocked and easy to navigate. Also, there are always staff working on the floor which makes it easy to ask questions regarding items. This store has one of the most beautiful flower shops. I have not seen a florist making bouquets, but for sure they have beautiful flowers and plants. This store has a deli section which has variety of hot and cold food selection. They have a variety of dairy products. It is easy to find parking. Been going to this location since ever since we've lived in Tujunga. I happened to buy some lemons which are not inexpensive anymore like everything else. The lemons we picked off their shelf looked good and not old at all. I always try to get the not so ripe ones. Well lo and behold as soon as I sliced the lemon to use it was already rotting on the inside and not fresh. Why sell produce that's marked up but rotten? I cut open another piece of lemon and it was just the same!!! read more

I first want to send some praise to Nasiba and Jerome in the Deli and Meats department. They are absolutely the most incredible people! They are always smiling, always friendly, and always so helpful. I've seen obnoxious and entitled Sunland customers yelling at them (because this department is very understaffed and overworked) and yet these 2 always give 5 star service. I don't even think they take breaks! If I ran a grocery store, I would take Jerome and Nasiba in a heartbeat because good employees are hard to find and should be rewarded for excellence in Customer Service. I live literally right behind Vons on Mt Gleason but make the trek to Ralph's specifically because of these 2. I just hope Ralph's appreciates them as much as I do. The lady that works the flower counter here has the most miserable attitude I've ever experienced. No matter how respectful you are with her, you're always met with an eye roll or a piss poor response. She refuses to do her job and walks away from the counter and tells you it's closed if you kindly ask her a question. Go work somewhere else where you don't have to deal with people, you clearly suck at it bitch. read more

The bakery is the worst!!! PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS AND HASSLE AND GO TO A LOCAL BAKERY. I went over a week before my son's birthday and asked about them making a cupcake cake. The men putting the order in took a photo of the exact cake I wanted (I will insert the inspo pic and the actual cake) Apparently he wasn't the one working on the cake nor did he share it with anyone working that day. My husband went to pick it up and it was awful!!! The frosting as you can see is already falling apart, there's no decorations and then when I complained the lady said "I didn't have enough time". Excuse me?? I put the order in over a week before pick up and you're telling me that you didn't have enough time and you don't even have a photo of what I wanted? Nor did she care about my concern. In fact she was a little smug about it and wanted to grab her supervisor so she didn't have to talk to me. My husband left and found a nearby bakery that can make it last minute. How disappointing. I frequent this Ralph's ALOT, but tonight they had only ONE cashier, with a LONG line of customers, and an even LONGER line for self-checkout(which they try persuade all customers to use). This is a frequent occurrence. The manager, who was bagging the customers items, should have gotten on another register and taken customers(would have been the right thing to do). They have 6 or 7 Registers but NEVER 6 or 7 cashiers at those registers. Imagine how happy the customers would be if they were able to check out quickly? I'm so sick of this happening. Their job isn't easy, and from the shopping cart collectors to the manager, they're all helpful and professional. They have very good quality products and in my opinion the best selection in town. There's a new manager Ray who has a habit of padding receipts with bag fees. Even when bags are declined, he charges you anyway. I bought 2 items and he charged me for 2 bags--one item was a case of beer which can't fit in a bag. The dude should be fired. read more

I have never ever been rude with anyone in this store when asking for help.. Denise is having a bad day, please don't take it out on me. Take a brake and calm down. Located in the Sunland Shopping Center Ralphs can be convenient and helpful in anytime! I personally come here for the regular stuff one/two day used items. Nothing bulk. Also parking is never a problem. ( but! beware parking in the lot, people can be careless anywhere so doors can be hit so be careful!) This is a pretty tidy Ralph's. If you go in, everything is almost perfect. Now for the creme de la creme....(drum roll!!!) SELF CHECK OUT ISLES! Thats the best! this is THE ONLY REASON why I come to this Ralph's and avoid all the other commercial super markets like the one that starts with V and ends with an ONS. Respectful employees always. Saw a rude employee treat an old man poorly by speaking down to him. The old man must have been around 80 yers old. I heard him say he bought ice cream that was missing some because the factory somehow it didn't get filled all the way. He asked for exchange or refund and she refused. I have to upgrade this Ralph's review due to the spiffy remodeling they recently underwent. It almost looks like a Pavilions now. Talk about a much-needed facelift! I like the new floors, the fresh fish section with Wild Salmon (finally!), the sushi section and the upscale items that I've found so far: Homeboy chips, Dave's Bread, peri peri sauce, Boar's Head deli products, and even pistachio milk! The produce section now boasts a nuts and seeds and dried fruit by the ounce self-serve like they have at Sprouts and Whole Foods. I found better quality produce this time around. This was always one of my biggest complaints about this location in the past. Now I found persimmons and a larger variety of fresher looking produce! Not sure why this Ralph's is so under-supported considering how many people live in this area. The produce is generally not great, they are always understaffed with looooong lines, and every time I go they are out of stock on basic items. My husband and I go to this Ralphs on our way to Dodger games. We travel from Ventura and that is our stop to use the restroom buy snacks water etc. But for the last few times we stopped my husbands says lets go to the deli and have sandwiches made. First time when they told they couldnt because of the pandemic we thought ok? The next time we thought maybe ? Yesterday we stopped May 4th 2022 I asked the guy in the Deli can you make us Sandwiches he said No because of the pandemic. My husband laughed and Said Did he say because of the pandemic? The guy said I cant deal with this. So I go into the self check out and asked the attendant Why? He said you can ask the guy behind you he is the Manager. So I did. He was very nice and said if wanted a special made they will. I explain what was going on and he offered to go back and have it made for us. We said no were on our way to the Dodger game. He said he would talk to them. My thought is if you work in the deli you make chicken you serve food you make salads. Why cant you make a freaking Sandwich for a customer. I honestly forgot to wear a mask into the store, the little old white lady that works there went bat shit crazy on me and masked shamed me for not wearing a mask. I told her I'm so sorry I apologized and said I honestly for got and she kept yelling at me and she didn't offer me a mask. Between her yelling at me I asked nicely if the store had one I could use and she grabbed one from Behind the counter and and threw at me. I really like shopping at this Ralph's store. Most of the employees are friendly. I like getting helpful answers to questions. Most seem knowledgeable about inventory and shipments. For example, I like the refrigerated pet food but it does sell out. The cashier gave me pointers on when they are most likely to restock. Second the customer service is great and I've never had a problem with them. Third you'll always find a parking a spot and you'll never have to wait for one. I love the new updated store. Light and bright. Their sushi is delicious. They were so kind to our Girl Scouts when we would booth there, even during the middle of construction. One day we even had a celeb sighting, Boo Boo Stewart from the Descendants stopped by to shop at the store, picked up some cookies, a meet and greet with the troop, he was very kind and the girls were very giddy. Between the few options available within Tujunga-Sunland areas, this is usually my go to grocery store. They have everything needed and it's neatly stacked usually. Produce is kept fresh and discarded when old. The meat section has plenty of options and the workers are always willing to help. Currently the shopping center is under construction but both Ralphs and Rite Aid (only 2 operating businesses in this shopping center, sadly) are still open. read more

Poor staffing at the busiest time of day. I was there on 8/16/24 at 5:45 pm on a Friday to get something quick for dinner for the family from the deli/fresh food section. There was a lady behind the counter. I asked twice for help and she finally acknowledged me. I said I wanted to get something from the case and she said "he's at lunch". I said well can you help or call someone to help me and she said no that I needed to go the front and tell them. I said can you not call someone? Again she said no. I asked "do you not work for Ralph's?" And she said no. So I went and got other things I needed thinking maybe "he" would be back soon. I finished my shopping and went back to the deli section and now the lights were out. I asked a nearby employee if there was someone that could help and he looked over and said "oh the lights are out. They are closed". I said it was only 6:15 how can they be closed now? Then asked to speak with a manager. She was within earshot and she finally chimed in that "he" was at lunch and would be back in 25 mins. I asked if there was anyone else that could help? I mean it is after work on a Friday and I think you would want someone working at that time as people are coming in after work to get get dinner for their families. She said no only "he" can do it. I said that was very poor planning by management especially not having any one available to back him up on his lunch break. Who does that?? If you can't get anyone to help me then you can keep your groceries and left my full shopping cart with the manager and walked out. Bad business. Wont EVER GIVE THAT STORE MY BUSINESS AGAIN. instead I went down the street to Vons - where they had several people manning their deli/fresh food area to accommodate the after dinner rush. read more

The nicest thing I can say about the customer service at this store is it's inconsistent. One employee in the dairy walked me all the way over to the item I was looking for. The cashier turned my basket of food upside down and dumped it from a height onto the belt. Another (Jose) bagging groceries became belligerent when I informed them there was food on the floor, and accused me of stomping in it and smearing it around. I came in to the store on Saturday, July 7th. It was an exceptionally hot day. I was looking for Sparkling ice (water) in cherry flavor. There was none on the shelf that I could see my Dad was with me and went to find an employee to help. Rosie came over and found a bulk package that was on the shelf and opened it so I could get the sparkling ice drinks I wanted. Thank you Rosie! Ok, let's have a chat. You made some big improvements over the past few years, it doesn't look like a haunted house anymore, but it is declining again. The staff is wonderful, but whoever is in charge of ordering the Guayaki bottles of Yerba Mate needs to step up their game. One flavor? Really? I mean the Peach Passion is OK, but what about Raspberry? I need that one for circulation and my heart center. Get it together Ralph's Sunland. I buy these drinks every day and you literally cannot get it together after 2-3 years of me mentioning it? I put in a special order once and never got a call back. I mean this is quite laughable. You also need more organic selections and better vegan and grass fed options. I wouldn't be surprised if Whole Foods was able to buy you out soon because nobody likes Ralph's or VONs in Sunland. We are all going to Glendale when we have had enough of your BS. You guys are destroying the planet and people's health with your GMO-ridden store and seriously, you cannot get Raspberry Guayaki? This review is for the current condition of the store and the severe shortage of staff. There are many empty spots on the shelves. There are only 2 check stands open at any given time. The lines go down the aisle and wrap around to a second aisle sometimes. Customers stand in line for far too long. Self checkout is not any better. There are rarely employees to bag the groceries or get the carts put away. Yesterday, the situation was so bad, I returned the items in my cart to their proper places and left. I will not go back into that store until this situation is sorted out. There is no reason for this. This store is and has always been a poorly managed and run store. I will say one good thing that always kept me shopping there is the produce selection is usually very good. I will have to go the farmers market for now. Prices are too high, lines are too long, shelves are not properly stocked. If you have an alternative to this - I say shop there. Too bad. read more

Today I had a girl named Yaney. Just so rude and unhappy to be there. I know the deli section is hard work. First off I want to give the employees here over 10 stars. There weren't many of them..at all..but they were working so hard and were being so professional and are so appreciated. Corporate couldn't be more unprofessional and out of control for letting a great essential store turn into chaos with 30 minute long lines ATLEAST and over worked employees who do not deserve that at all. I've been shopping here litterally everyday for several years now. Tonight as I'm leaving the store I'm followed out by two employees. I load up my car, get inside and both of them are in front of my car pointing at me and talking about me. I get out of the car and I ask the Hispanic female older employee if there is a problem, and told her I don't appreciate being followed and pointed at as if I did something wrong. I asked her name so I could report her to the manager and then she then explains that she is the manager and casually tells me to go F myself under her breath. I'll never shop here again.
