The people at the meat counter are consistently rude! Every single time I need to speak with one of them I walk away angry at the way I am treated. On one occasion I wanted shrimp from the counter, but was told to get a bag of frozen shrimp because it's the same thing. Another time I walked up to the counter and instead of being greeted he jutted his chin in the air at me I presume to say-what do you want. Recently I attempted to ask questions about what type of marinades were on the chicken skewers because I have food allergies. The response was to nod in the direction of some bottles on the counter. The most egregious treatment however, was when I was attempting to purchase about $140 worth of prime rib. When I was finally acknowledged and had explained to the counter person what I wanted, after several questions and repeatedly being told what it would cost, he went to get another butcher who then questioned me again, and kept telling me how much the meat would cost. This treatment is ridiculous. I am a more than middle-aged individual who is well beyond playing pranks, and I am completely capable of paying for my purchases. Management needs to be aware of how these guys are treating customers. read more

Selection of items, store itself was ok.. the problem is with staff. I think management should re-evaluate their customer service training. Many employee on the floor focus on getting the "job done".. just done .. that they forget on the importance of interaction and first impressions. When you do have a question you feel like you are interrupting their job.. there are choice people.. even in small town such as fallbrook. The pharmacy in this store is staffed by the most patient, efficient ladies I have ever had the pleasure of having help me. My boys both have asthma and are on various meds every month and I have tried to pick up the inhalers, pills, and nebulizer meds from other places every now and again, and waited 45 minutes and been given the wrong medicine. Never again. We moved away from Fallbrook and I STILL come back here because of how fast and easy the staff here make getting medication. read more

This is about the worst Albertsons I have ever been to! The employees look miserable and lack any type of customer service! The guys at the meat market don't really want to go out of their way to make sure you have the best cut, even when you ask them to show you a piece, they act like you're taking up their precious time. The cashiers look miserable and do not make an effort to greet the customer or even ask if you brought your bag or would like to purchase one. We are 20 year Fallbrook residents. Our favorite Grocery Store is Albertson's. For example, my wife and I went to the Courtesy Counter with 15 Gift cards, each requiring a separate amount. Laura was so patient with us and made sure each Card was for the right amount. I ran into the Manager later and told him personally how helpful and polite Laura was to us. He was appreciative for our comments and promised to let Laura know we had shared our experience with her Manager. Our luck continued at the Check Out where Cherise, one of our favorites, was on duty. She is always so friendly, helpful, and thorough. Everyone in the store, goes out of their way to make sure you find what you are looking for. The store is always clean, the shelves are stocked and frequently faced so you don't have to reach far back to obtain an item. read more

What is going on with the meat at Albertson's (and now Von's since the merger)? Last night, I purchased some chopsteaks to cook for lunch. This afternoon I went to cook them and as I was adding some seasonings to the pan, I got a whiff of rot. The meat was bad. I looked at the package date, and it says sell thru 5/16/16. That would be today. This is not my first experience with bad meat, especially chicken. Honestly, I don't think the store is to blame, but I can't guarantee that. The meat from the butcher seems fine, and they are usually very friendly. And the carne asada is amazing (when it is on sale). It seems to be the packaged meats that aren't holding their own. Either their packaging is not air tight or the meats are not fresh to begin with. This is a serious problem because it is consistent across all the raw meat products that are Albertson's brand. If you want fresh meat that doesn't go bad overnight, go to Daniel's in Bonsall or Ralph's somewhere else. I don't buy much meat at Major Market, so I can make no assessment there. If you don't mind throwing away a whole lot of money (or running back to town constantly to return the product), buy it from Albertson's. I wish we had a good butcher in town... read more

I had a small issue that was easily fixed by Shelley in Customer Service. She is super friendly and knowledgeable. I tried to do a great survey for her, but unfortunately Albertson's website address does not appear to work. Hopefully management sees this and realise how awesome Shelley is (and lets I.T. know albertsonssurvey.com is not working). read more

I've been going to this grocery store for quite some time and 95% of the time, their checkout lines have at least 3 people in line. To my detriment, I always choose the "express" lines and it always takes longer than the regular lines. Ive been here a few times and I always feel like I'm walking out with very little and paying way too much. I've walked out with 4 items and paid over 60$..After my last visit I won't be going again. Went to the deli to get sanwhich meats, David at the deli service counter was great. He gave us samples of cheeses we had not tried before. I now have a new favorite cheese thanks to David. The items were all on sale. And we had the best grill cheese to pair with our tomato soup for dinner. Thank you again David for the wonderful customer service. read more

Not giving just three stars due to the store itself, which is fine. Just to Albertsons marketing techniques. That buy five and get a discount or mix and match is to confusing. As a consumer I am very frugal,, but when I see those deals I just end up putting the product back on the shelf. Now it would seem to me that Albertsons would not want that. That is the last thing a market chain wants to hear. So as I place the product back I just say,, I guess I will go to WinCo.. which is also the last thing I would think Albertsons would like to hear. So all in all if that type of marketing is part of my buying habits I bet I am not alone. Please Albertsons, I would like to shop locally, but it seems I just put things back and leave. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Most of the female checkers I have experienced are not friendly and just plain rude. Every checkout has been downright awkward as they give weird looks and make condescending comments for no apparent reasons. One checker who was made up like a dime store hooker had conversations with her colleagues over and around me on two separate occasions, refusing to make eye contact or acknowledging me through the checkout process. Another old hag with a Soviet-like accent seems judgemental and impatient with customers. I'm sorry the best job you can get is as a grocery store checker, hey but you immigrated here. You pay a premium on groceries here, you should expect premium service, but I guess that's too much to ask. Sadly, there are no other large retail chain grocery stores in Fallbrook such as Ralphs or Vons, so I'll unfortunately continue shopping here. read more

Every time I go to this store, I have a bad experience. It is so big that I find it hard to find what I'm looking for without going up and down every aisle. The meat department smells bad and this carries over into the produce department and nearby aisles. I only go here when I absolutely can't find something I need somewhere else. I went twice in the last month and had the same checker, Becky both times. She is always very distracted and chatting to co workers or customers she is not helping. The woman in front of me noticed that an item had been stuck on the belt and not checked out. She mentioned this to Becky who told her quite brusquely that it had been. When the woman again mentioned it and I agreed, Becky again said the customer was wrong and shoved the item in her bag. Oh well, the woman got a free item! Once I got home, I found my bananas were not in my bag. I did not go back for them as I live a distance away. I went back a few weeks later against my better judgment and was in Becky's line again. She was again chatting with a co worker and then the whole time she was checking my items out, she was discussing a football party with another customer. I went home and did the survey listed on the receipt and mentioned these 2 incidents. I did get a call from the store manager the next day and she offered me a $25 gift card. I went back to use it and again noticed the smell in the meat department. I also was unable to find 3 items that my favorite, small nearby Major Market carries. I also find that the Albertson's prices are the same or higher and they have much bigger buying power than Major Market with 2 stores. I will not be returning to this store. Years ago, I used to shop at Albertson's in Encinitas and was very happy. Maybe it's just the Fallbrook location that is a problem. read more
