What an incredible journey crafting shirts and sport jackets. Multiple visits. Fitting after fitting. Ensuring everything fits seamlessly and to finally see the amount of craftsmanship and dedication to an unbelievable craft is beyond words. Special thank you to Jay, Alan David himself, and all the other incredible people who helped me with this. I absolutely love my jacket and shirt. Stylish and modern. Sophisticated and contemporary. Thank you again for such incredible work and customer service!

One thing that puts the battery in my back is meeting people who have niche passions, for no other reason than passions sake. Alan David is more passionate about suits than anyone I have ever met. He used words I never thought would be used to describe a suit. "This particular suit is conversational"... my head began to spin. How can a suit be conversational? Well when you really sit and think about it... Another bar he dropped was "when you're making a custom suit, create something. Not for the sake of trying to be different, but for the sake of creating something." In this world where AI will take most of our 9-5s, I felt that on a spiritual level. Only human creativity and passion will really matter. I came in on the first appointment, picked my fabric and type of cut the suit would be, and got my measurements with the help of Neil and Jay. This was my first experience of a custom made suit, and I felt like a little kid on Christmas getting to pick out my suit. It's such a luxury. Even though it's a pretty penny, I feel like everyone should have this experience once in their life. A few weeks later, I came to pick up my subtly plaid Loro Piana suit jacket with my name stitched on the inside. I felt like Indian Jones holding the Holy Grail Chalice. It's beautiful. Catch me in this at EVERY semi-formal/formal event I go to for the rest of my days on this earth, and after, my son will carry on its legacy. I walked in for a Loro Piana custom suit jacket, but walked out inspired with a fully charged battery and a huge fan of Alan David and his entire team. THANK YOU AD! IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

I had a nice suit. For many, many years. But after wearing it to a funeral, I noticed the jacket had a few holes. Moths perhaps. Yikes !!! So after doing some research, I came across "Alan David Custom" (hoping they could fix it). I spoke with a very stylish Frenchman who works there named Jay. He carefully examined the garment and said that to fix it, would cost almost the same as a new, made to measure tailored suit. Jay said whenever you are ready, come back, ask for me and let's see what we can do. No pressure. After a few months, I returned and was ready to start the process of having my first custom made suit. The whole experience was thorough and quite enjoyable. Never tedious, boring or at all a hassle. Hundreds of fabrics to choose from in all sorts of weights, patterns and materials. You pick your lining, cut/style, how you want it to fit, and when do you need it. Every detail you can think of. The best part was having an experienced tailor at my side. Giving valid advice and opinion, that was in my best interest. Because...Jay wanted me to look my best. After about 4 weeks, I came back to try on the suit. To me, it fit like a glove. But to Jay, it needed a few adjustments. A couple of weeks later, VOILA !!! My suit, with my name inside on the label, was ready. Along with a shirt that Jay had made for me. The suit is impeccable. Compliments galore. Now you may think..."a custom suit ?!?! Why ? Must have cost a fortune !" But not the case. They have fabrics for all budgets. Plus, something like this will last a lifetime. After going through this wonderful experience, I will never buy off the back again. Nor will I ever have to.

Came for a private event to celebrate Alan David Custom being named the exclusive provider of Oxxford garments for NYC. Okay, what does this mean? Oxxford is a luxury menswear brand that makes high quality custom suits and is one of the few remaining manufacturers in the U.S. that offers handmade and fine-tailored quality pieces. You can't think "bespoke" without correlating it to Oxxford. Period. So when my husband was invited to attend I happily tagged along! (Party was catered, heehee!) but in all seriousness, the new showroom on Madison ave with floor-to-ceiling windows really sets the vibe to assure you that you WILL be taken care of and you're gonna look DAMN good by the end. Alan Horowitz said a few sweet words of gratitude, a true cutie patootie, and his family were all smiles seated together & watching from across the crowd. Jay, tall funny French guy, was pure energy and charm and when him and my husband get together I have to peel him away or else it's jokes and laughs all night. I do have to thank him for expertly catering to my husband's pickiness and helping him acquire multiple gorgeous custom suits. It's nice to have someone else see my husband's vision because to be honest...sometimes I don't! But the man knows what he likes and I've gotta hand it to him...he's got great taste. ;-)

Pants, shirt, and blazer were part of the order

This was my second order with Alan David and it really speaks to their integrity. I ordered a few shirts, pants, and a blazer. Unfortunately there some mishaps with timing and it ended up taking a lot longer than anticipated for the clothes to be ready. Phillip and the team were fantastic throughout and worked with me to expedite things as much as possible. The clothes are fantastic & I was really appreciative of their willingness to go above and beyond. Was it hard / frustrating to wait so long? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes. Will I go back again? Absolutely

If you want an unforgettable experience when it comes to tailor made, hand crafted clothes, look no further than Alan David Custom. From the beginning of the process to the end, you feel as if you are royalty. They spend a good amount of time tailoring your jacket/suit to make it look like a piece of art. I have not experienced this level of care when it comes to clothing in my entire life time. Neil was a fantastic representative and walked me through the entire process. The shirts and sports coat I received will make a resounding impact wherever I wear them. Thank you to the team!

If you want a perfect suit that last for lifetime, you need to come here to get it. They custom made every single piece by hand and alteration for free for life. Especially for your special lifetime event, it's worth spending extra penny to have the custom suit that fits perfectly to your body and look good on the camera. The appointment was quite easy to make. And the first appointment might take a minute, you need to pick fabric, pick lining and styles. So I recommend to think about it and if you have any pictures of the style you want just save in the phone to show them so they can recommend something for you to save time. And they also take a lot of measurements even the way your body arches. Then you wait for about 4 weeks to come for fitting. It came out almost perfect just minor personal preference adjustments, then you wait another wait to pick up the final product I had a custom blazer made it's perfect fit and very comfortable not to mention the fabric is so nice and high end. All the staffs are so friendly and the owner even came to talk to me and check the jacket to make sure he signs off too and meet his standard. Everyone is very professional.

Absolute 5/5 experience from Alan David custom. They are truly professional, great at their jobs and give off positive energy. I recommend them for any man needing a custom clothing for work, weddings or anything. Jay provided great service and was clearly experienced. On top of that, him and the rest of the crew were constantly hyping up the piece. The thing with alan david is that you can customize anything and everything. The width of the lapel, where the button goes, etc. to make it come out perfectly how you want it. They work with high quality fabrics and I can't recommend them enough. Go get one and watch your confidence skyrocket!

Hi Mark thanks so much for the inquiry yes we can make leather and suede jackets please email me alan@alandavidnyc.com for more details or to set up an appt thanks so much and happy holidays!

I'm interested in custom made women's blazers. I don't see any reviews for their services for women. Does anyone know someone who has gone here? Thanks.

We like to think that we do a fine job with women's garments but I am happy to wait from a yelpers recommendation in the meantime.

I know it ranges based on fabric and many many other intangibles but what is an estimated price ranges for a 2 piece suit here ? Thank you!

$1295-$3000 good representation in all price ranges-

Specifically was looking for recommendations for a beard/mustache product - however I needed some guidance picking a product out. In the past I made the mistake of picking a product my brothers used and realized not all products are designed for all skin and hair types. I explained to Jazmin my prior mistake purchasing products and that my partner is half black and showed a picture to illustrate his facial hair type - so I was looking for a product designed for his skin and hair type. Jazmin could not have been more helpful and showed me two different facial hair grooming kits to choose from - and explained the price difference between purchasing the individual products vs. products as a kit. She was both knowledgeable and transparent. Also, she paid attention to details while not making me feel rushed at all. She noticed when I walked by the YSL colognes that I wanted to purchase a YSL cologne for my BF but he loved certain scents of the brand and strongly disliked other scents and I did not recall which one was which. So I commented in passing "I'll have to bring him back in person to get the cologne". While I was checking out Jazmin dropped some YSL cologne samples in the bag and my BF ended up really liking one scent- so now I know which cologne to purchase! Jazmin did me a great job with the facial kit recommendation, my bf LOVED the kit we chose and his bandmates were a bit envious- one said "my girlfriend doesn't buy me stuff like this after my performances!" You did me a solid!!

The price range is reasonable for most apparel items besides the thick puffer jackets + sweaters + graphic tees. Even though there seem to be signs for the fitting room and cashiers/self-checkout, it's still pretty confusing to walk around and find stuff imo because of how large the Uniqlo space is. I have to flag down and ask different staff about the whereabouts of cashiers as I'm paying with cash. There's a bit of a line for those paying by cash despite several 5-6 cashiers being present while no line at all for self-checkout (card only). No line for the fitting room though. Generally, staff is shown as helpful + amiable + patient in a professional manner towards customers. My favorite section is probably by the heattech area. The fabric is the thinnest in material. Very comfy to wear without being too stuffy on the inside. I bought two long sleeved heattech pieces today ($19.90 each). They also come in different colors and styles that might be suited to the personal taste of each and every customer. I'm not sure if they have a restroom for the public, will have to search for it next time...
