Personally, but for my taste, I wish it were a bit spicier to make it even more perfect. Still, I enjoy every bite. I haven't tried their other menu items yet, but they also have a separate burger place right next door that offers burger combos. If you're going for the first time, I'd definitely recommend starting with the shawarma, you're very likely to enjoy it. One of my all time favorite spots in Seattle! I love coming here, whether for a meal or a late night snack. The staff are always so friendly and it is always lively here, especially towards the later hours of the day. Grab and go style, but they have a bunch of seating inside. My favorite thing to order here is by far the Aladdin fries- french fries with choice of beef/lamb or chicken, feta cheese, and garlic sauce. That was delicious! A hole in the wall. We went to visit the cherry blossoms and passed by this restaurant. Late to the Aladdin Gyro-Cery party, but after it being recently vetted by The Homie and his good friend, I figured it was time to check it out. Plus this business and adjacent burger joint is open daily from 10am to 2am the next day along University Way (The Ave) in Seattle's University District. It has seating indoors, as well as, covered outdoor sidewalk seating too. Drove there with The Homie on 5/26/24. I asked are you sure you want to eat here since he had just dined here twice recently. I got an emphatic yes. So we ventured out close to 10pm and got nearby street parking. Must of found that sweet spot, because after ordering and finding a table, a very long line had formed at the ordering counter. The line was out the door by the time we were leaving. Good thing about such places is that food turns over fast and frequently. I chose 9A Lamb & Beef Gyro - loaded pita with fresh shredded lettuce, bit of onion, tender slices of meat, and tzaziki sauce. Add most with a fork then polished it off with the pita. Wanted to eat and not wear my gyro. The Homie chose 11B Chicken Shawarma - again another loaded wrap with generous amount of grilled succulent chicken. He had this twice before and can attest that it has been consistent whether eaten at lunch time or late night. He also ordered Aladdin's Fries. I kid you not, it is a large takeout box full of fries which he customized with with beef & lamb gyro meat and garlic sauce. Previously he had also added feta cheese. Definitely shareable. Pro tip: If you pay in cash, you get free Kirkland/Costco bottles of water. They take debit/credit cards at the ordering counter. Grab additional napkins too. Very solid prices (especially compared to on-campus options), friendly/relaxed staff, pretty good turnaround time even when busy. I always get the "aladdin falafel" vegetarian gyro-type-thing (not sure of the exact verbiage), which is not too expensive (~10USD) & super filling--a little messy, but if you eat some of the lettuce separately beforehand it's a lot easier. Not a very cozy experience and seating is limited (and most of the time you end up sitting in the adjacent burger place) but dine-in in the U District is not the move regardless. read more

There are very limited late-night food options in the Seattle area, but luckily Aladdin was still open and not too far of a drive for us as we were leaving the stadium area. Finding street parking was not too difficult since it was about 12:45AM. It was VERY busy since this restaurant is located in the University District, so it was filled with college students also looking for a late-night food fix after a night out. We were able to order food and sit down to eat it before we were booted out of the seating area as they were preparing to close for the night. The food was good but did take a little longer than we wanted since we were hungry. My group did order a few items: Gyro Lamb & Beef, Aladdin's Gyro, French Fries, Aladdin Fries, and a Yogurt Milk (I DO NOT recommend getting this drink, unless you like the taste of cheese in a liquid form). read more

Aladdin used to be one of the go-to's for me back in school. I ordered a gyro plate like the usual. Staff asked me if I want to pay in cash (so they avoid the credit card fees), and their extra incentive is to give you a free water bottle. I opted to go with the credit card since I didn't want to carry any coins, and they add an extra 50 cent credit card fee to your order. Something that should be brought up verbally when paying. Gyro plate meat quality has gone down significantly, and the food isn't as hot anymore. I'm glad they expanded their real estate so there's more seating, but the ordering system and service can definitely improve. Street parking only. read more

The chicken was a tad bit dry and the soda that I ordered was swapped with something else and while I added a side of baba ganoush, I got hummus instead. The salad felt underseasoned and I think that the proportions of rice to meat were uneven as there was not enough rice. Located on the Ave, Aladdins is a super popular spot for university students. Came tonight for a late night meal since its one of the rarer places open past 11 PM. They have a decently large indoor seating space and even some outdoor seating, but also prep all orders to-go. I ordered #20, which is lamb & beef + basmati rice. It also comes with a side salad that has onions, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, and a pickle. I heard a lot of good things about this place, but was pretty underwhelmed. It tasted OK, but the rice was undercooked (kinda raw) and lacked flavor, while the meat was cut inconsistently (some pieces too thick and some were tiny). It also didn't help that my order took forever to come out... our number was 35 but they were calling 60 before they called mine :( not sure I would come again unless I was super hungry and nothing else was open read more

I came here for dinner on a Saturday night at around 8:30pm. This is located in University District and in the front you'll see a row of wooden structures covering outdoor seating. It looks small when you first walk inside but it turns out there is a lot more space with tables in the back of the restaurant. I ordered the gyro lamb and beef ($8.19) and the Aladdin fries ($10.90). The gyro was solid and is one of the better ones I've had in the Seattle area, but the star of the show were the Aladdin fries. The portions are really good for the price and the fries are loaded with lots of meat, sauce, and cheese. I can also confirm that heating up the fries the next day still came out great. Fries are my kryptonite and these are a must-get. I love that they're open late and I think more of these late night spots are needed all around. I came here completely blasted and absolutely starving, and all the carbs and deliciousness satisfied my cravings. Even when I'm dry I'm still looking forward to the day when I can come back because regardless of the state I'm in, I'm sure this place is great. read more

Stopped by Aladdin on a busy Monday night. There was a huge line of folks in front of me but they got through the line pretty quick. They have a lot of options but I was in the mood for some Shish Tawook kebab sandwich and boy was I right. Juicy marinated chicken with garlic, herbs, spices, hummus, lettuce and tomato on a lightly roasted pita. The chicken pieces were beautifully marinated and the spices added the perfect flavor to make this probably one of the best Shish Tawooks I have ever had in Seattle. We also ordered the greek fries and they were amazing. The staff is super friendly, nice and food comes out hot and pretty quick. They do have some place to sit inside - do not expect great ambience but just come here for good food and you will go home satisfied. iykyk. Aladdins is probably the best Greek food on the ave. It's also open relatively late (2 AM) which helps all the late night studying students. Not 24 hours so pick up some food and then go back to studying. I like that they added an outdoor dining area since COVID, it never got too busy inside before but having options is always welcome. I'm not a big fan of gyros in general, not that they're bad, but they don't satisfy anything for me. However, I do enjoy the gyros here. Value is almost unbeatable and taste is good. Usually I opt for Aladdin Fries though, they're the best thing on the menu. Fries loaded with feta cheese and your choice of meat all packed together looking easy to conquer but ending up filling you up for hours, what could be better? They're just $11 and fill me up so I can only applaud them. It's not the cleanest spot or anything, but you're not here for that. You might think about it like I do, but in the end you know what you're getting and get to see the food over the counter. You also get to see the crowd of people waiting for their order so you know it's popular, good, and probably going to be fresh by the time you order because they don't have anything old to reheat for you since the orders are constantly flowing. Alongside that, the food obviously isn't the cleanest in all aspects, but it's still tasty nonetheless. It's posted up all over inside but if you pay with cash you can snag a free drink. In the past I think they upcharged for card payments, but as of late I haven't seen that. I think they just offer an additional incentive for paying with cash to avoid card transaction fees.
