11B) Chicken Shawarma
Poojitha a.

This is one of my favorite late-night spots in the U District. It's often crowded, but that's usually a good sign. I always go for the chicken shawarma, and it's honestly one of the best I've had in Seattle. The portion is generous, the chicken tastes really good, and I like that they don't overload it with sauces. The spice level is comfortable for most people, not too spicy. Personally, but for my taste, I wish it were a bit spicier to make it even more perfect. Still, I enjoy every bite. I haven't tried their other menu items yet, but they also have a separate burger place right next door that offers burger combos. If you're going for the first time, I'd definitely recommend starting with the shawarma, you're very likely to enjoy it. Even when it's busy, the service is not too slow, which I really appreciate for a late night spot.

This place is a U District institution for a reason. The gyros are great, as are their platters. The mazzat veggie plate is awesome and incredible filling. They definitely the best falafel in the area, huge and crispy, and their dolmades are excellent. It takes a little while to get your food during peak times, so just be aware.

Fast service, everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. Great price for the portion size, which usually lasts me two meals. The flavors were balanced and satisfying without being overwhelming, and you can really tell they put care into preparing the food. Everything came out hot and quickly, and the quality definitely exceeded my expectations for the price. I'll definitely be coming back to try more items on the menu.

One of my all time favorite spots in Seattle! I love coming here, whether for a meal or a late night snack. The staff are always so friendly and it is always lively here, especially towards the later hours of the day. Grab and go style, but they have a bunch of seating inside. My favorite thing to order here is by far the Aladdin fries- french fries with choice of beef/lamb or chicken, feta cheese, and garlic sauce. The garlic sauce here is so delicious, and all the different parts of the dish go so well together. The serving portions are also so large! Amazing quality and value of food. There is also a related, more fast food type store connected, I also like their loaded fries with chicken a lot :)

After a late night out it's the spot to grab some food. They messed up my order sadly but still got to enjoy whatever they gave us.

That was delicious! A hole in the wall. We went to visit the cherry blossoms and passed by this restaurant. It had a nice Covered area outside with picnic tables where we were able to sit with our pup! We got the chicken shawarma and beef/lamb shawarma, and Greek fries! They were all delicious. When you bite into the shawarma, it's crunchy! Perfect amount of sauce too. Very tasty! According to my UW student, this is a go to place for her and her friends.

My son has been talking about Aladdin since he's been in high school. He always goes here for the Shawarma his favorite! So I haven't had the chance to try it so I wanted to try the Gyro. It's been hard to find a decent Gyro place to go to. The lamb was seasoned to perfection and the NAAN I really love the taste and texture it was the best I have had in a long time. I going back soon for sure! pictured below

I love the gyros, shawarmas and fries here. They are open late and everything I've ordered always tastes amazing. The portions are fulfilling.

Late to the Aladdin Gyro-Cery party, but after it being recently vetted by The Homie and his good friend, I figured it was time to check it out. Plus this business and adjacent burger joint is open daily from 10am to 2am the next day along University Way (The Ave) in Seattle's University District. It has seating indoors, as well as, covered outdoor sidewalk seating too. Drove there with The Homie on 5/26/24. I asked are you sure you want to eat here since he had just dined here twice recently. I got an emphatic yes. So we ventured out close to 10pm and got nearby street parking. Must of found that sweet spot, because after ordering and finding a table, a very long line had formed at the ordering counter. The line was out the door by the time we were leaving. Good thing about such places is that food turns over fast and frequently. I chose 9A Lamb & Beef Gyro - loaded pita with fresh shredded lettuce, bit of onion, tender slices of meat, and tzaziki sauce. Add most with a fork then polished it off with the pita. Wanted to eat and not wear my gyro. The Homie chose 11B Chicken Shawarma - again another loaded wrap with generous amount of grilled succulent chicken. He had this twice before and can attest that it has been consistent whether eaten at lunch time or late night. He also ordered Aladdin's Fries. I kid you not, it is a large takeout box full of fries which he customized with with beef & lamb gyro meat and garlic sauce. Previously he had also added feta cheese. Definitely shareable. Pro tip: If you pay in cash, you get free Kirkland/Costco bottles of water. They take debit/credit cards at the ordering counter. Grab additional napkins too. Ginormous, straightforward food from a fairly sizeable menu. Reasonably priced and late hours. Perfect for college students or folks wanting a decent late night, no frills meal.

Located along the Ave next to UW, Just dropped in for a little lamb schwarma before attending a 3 hour event. Took about 10 minutes for the order to come out. Outdoor tables weren't very clean but food was really tasty, Gyros and schwarma cost around $10. Great university food. Just needs a little cleaning up.

My boyfriend has been coming here for years and will go out of his way for their gyros. This was my first time! Everything was perfect. Fries were hot and a huge portion. The cashier was super sweet and welcoming. I loved that he was playing some old school country and then switched it up to more middle eastern music. Great vibes.

This place has great gyros, burgers, hummus and more. The Greek fries are super yummy! And I love visiting in the summer and eating outside.

I spotted Al Bacha and thought it rung a bell but I wasn't sure where I saw it before. I then remembered that they have a location in downtown Tacoma. It's actually been quite a while since I have been to the Tacoma location but going off of memory it seemed like the menu was just a bit different here. Maybe it's the same as the Tacoma one... I dunno... like I said....it's been a while. But I really liked what I ordered here. When it comes to Greek food I almost always go for the Gyro and I ordered that on this visit. My Gyro was very, very good! The ingredients were fresh and the meat tasted great. Cooked and seasoned quite nicely. I devoured it and loved every minute of it. The French Fries were very good too. All in all a very nice meal. Steve got a Falafel Sandwich which was excellent as well. I really liked both of these items very much! Would I come back? Yes! Absolutely!

There was parking right on the corner. It feels quite commercial inside, which was shocking being my first time here. I spent around $20. It would've been worth it, but I didn't end up eating the food. For some reason, I don't recall it being Shawarma chicken that I had last time. I think it was grilled chicken. However, I was not fond of this chicken at all it was shaved off. I honestly wasn't fond of the texture or the flavor. There was a lot of garlic sauce. The rice was not enjoyable. I did like the hummus and the salad. I threw the rest out. I'm sorry to say..

This would be a five star review, but they have to simplify their menu. It was actually confusing to find out how much my order was - a main street gyro plate said something like $9 but the order ended up being $12 (menu said it included fries, but the cashier said "would you like fries with that" and added a $3 surcharge when I said yes). Other than that, fries were fantastic on texture and flavor, the main street gyro plate was uniquely appetizing in appearance, ingredients and flavor. Not a thing I would change on that front. The food is well worth the price, even at $12, so they shouldn't feel ashamed about quoting that higher price. If they're in town, you better chow down.

First impression, it's smaller than most salad that i got and it's really plain. The falafel was ok, very crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, a little dry so the salad and the sauce definitely help balance it out. The salad was just plain salad, nothing special. The amount of food was insane even our server said it was a lot of food! The first course alone could have been a meal. Pita bread with six different spreads just look at the picture! I expected maybe three or four. They explained everything, and I retained almost none of it. All I know is that everything tasted really good! This also came with a very generous portion of Greek salad. That was just round one. Next came the salmon and chicken kebabs, with generous chunks of protein served sizzling. They poured liquid over them at the table to make them sizzle even more, which was a neat touch. Both were very good, and the caramelized onions were great. The spreads from the first course also made excellent toppers for the salmon and chicken. By the third course, we were already getting full, but out came the leg of lamb. I had pictured us having to tackle something bone-in, so I appreciated that it arrived nicely sliced. Tender, cooked perfectly, and very little fat. It came with generous portions of small, partly mashed potatoes and some really good greens. I'm not entirely sure what the greens were, but we enjoyed them! For the fourth course, we chose a blackberry ginger sorbet that wasn't listed on the menu. I also ordered a Prosecco to enjoy with dinner. We ended up taking home three boxes because there was simply no way we could finish everything. Such an amazing Seattle Restaurant Week deal! Service was fantastic, and the pacing was nice. My friend and I stayed a little afterward to chat, and we never felt rushed, even though the restaurant was very busy. Great ambiance and a really enjoyable evening. I'll definitely be back to try their brunch!

Unfortunately, on arriving, there was a mix-up and we had to wait 20-25 mins to get our table. We were a large party (10 people) but still, it was quite a long wait. The manager offered us some free wine and apologized for making us wait. We did enjoy the rest of the night with the huge ensemble of meals and drinks Lola had to offer. Our servers were also extremely nice and polite and quite accommodating to our big dinner party. I really liked the ambience of the restaurant: dimly lit, elegant and cozy with an open kitchen towards the back side. Ordered a lot of different items amongst all of us: Mushroom Skewers (was quite tasty) Saganaki (not a big fan of this.. I didn't like the sweet and cheese together) grilled octopus (I am not a big fan of octopus, but tried what my colleague ordered, and I quite liked it) Doughnuts with mascarpone and Jam (star of the night) Coconut cream pie (also amazing) There was another dessert, I don't recall the name of it but it was peach with chocolate mascarpone (didn't like this one as much as the other two) Overall, had a great time at Lola despite the wait time hiccup, the service, food, ambience were top-notch!
