I'm a VIP customer, and I spend more money at Akira than anywhere else when it comes to shopping. My issue is that you don't seem to value your VIPs, and getting help with problems has been extremely difficult. When I reach out by email, I get nowhere--especially when I have shipping or other order issues. This has definitely slowed down my shopping with you, and I've even started going directly to the buyers just to avoid dealing with customer service. For the amount of money I spend, I should be treated like a priority. You've lost future business from me because of how poorly customer service issues are handled. My friend recommended this store so when I recently visited the Woodfield Mall, I also visited the store. I love shopping new clothes and I realized that this store is what exactly I want. It was clean and they have various collection of different wonderful items for women. The store is not that spacious but everything was well organized. Their staff are friendly and helpful. Every piece of the item they have has a good quality and interesting designs. I super love their winter collection. Their selection of bags, shoes and some jewelries are also wonderful. I did not bother buying much because prices were fair and reasonable. The items they have are really a good option over an expensive and branded item. I highly recommend them too! read more

I made a purchase and a full priced item on July 24th. After I paid the lady told me it was a final sale because of COVID-19. The next day I went online and the item was half off on the website. I know this is a new item to the store because it was not there 2 weeks ago. It is absolutely terrible that this item is final sale and marked down 50% on line. I have been so pleased with my visits to Akira. While the clothing here is usually not conservative, I do occasionally find some pieces that are (and are work-appropriate). The staff members here do a nice job of getting to know customers as they browse. When I wasn't happy with a purchase, the staff member helping me was super understanding and had me pick out some other pieces with store credit from my past purchase. I lack patience and I hate woodfield mall. Two very bad attributes for a shopper. Well I am not much of a shopper either so there you have it. If I ever go to this mall is because I was dragged or I really have to go and I cant avoid it. I guess Akira is a big plus for me, otherwise the experience would be a whole disaster. Did i mention how i really dont like woodfield? I have been going to Akira ever since I moved to chi in 07. Back then I used to go to the clarck and fullerton location which was one of the pioneers. It was such a little store but it was adorable. Convenience wise I am glad they expanded on the burbs but they also started doing commission so the shopping experience hasnt been the same. I dont like to shop so I dont want to be bothered on top of being annoyed. I will buy what I like. Get off my a.. people! Personally I love the vernon hills mall location because it is very quiet but the woodfield mall location is closer to my house. They have fun clothes and cool jewelry. This Akira is a very great place for nice outfits and clothes to wear in a party or club. They have so many different types of clothing to choose from. I really like all of their items. The staff here was so great, they are willing to help and guide all of their customers, they all know how to treat all of their customers so well, and they even answer all of the questions right away. Such an amazing customer service they made my experience so fun and easy. I highly recommend visiting this store. The quality of items here are so good and exceptional. Akira has a very unique clothes. If you are looking for different types of clothes but stylish you gotta come here and you will know what I am saying. This store is worth visiting! I was extremely surprised by the size of this store. Due to the fact that it's located in Woodfield, I expected a larger store. I've only shopped here once, and really wasn't thrilled. I did like how the sales associates didn't bother me, because usually when I go to Akira, they're all up in my biz, trying to get me to try on things I'd never wear. That's fine too, if you're in the mood for trying on or feeling a little uninspired. This day I was on a mission so I enjoyed the fact that I wasn't bogged down with endless selections of outfits that I really didn't care to try on. The sale selection as well as the area for basics, like tees and leggings seemed large in relation to the rest of the store. I'll definitely continue to stop in because they typically have cute dresses and tops, but I don't think this store is anything special. read more

I love Akira and especially this location! Really trendy, reasonably priced, but better quality than Forever 21. This location reminds me of the closed Northbrook location because it's smaller so you are not overwhelmed with the selection and all their staff are really nice and helpful (not to mention some of the associates from that location are now here). Izabella is my go to stylist. She pulls stuff for you to try on but not overly pushy and really honest. Of course, I may be a tad biased since she's been helping me starting from the closed Northbrook location, BUT I have seen her with other customers and she's just attentive! Probably the only bad thing is that the store is located at one of the far corners of the mall that's not as heavily visited. So unless you know it's there, you probably won't just stumble upon it. It's great though because you can take your time and look around without feeling pressured to hurry up. Let's see how long until everyone catches on. Happy shopping! read more

Im a loyal Akira customer and used to go to the State St Location once a week but after moving to the suburbs I found it hard to find the same shopping experience with the girls that worked in store. Ive been to EVERY location in the chicagoland area and Diem Allen and Neriza Miranda were hands down the most warm and welcoming girls Ive dealt with in a very long time. Ive gone into other stores and walked right out just because of the attitude of some of the people that work there. I was looking for a sweater this morning that was sold out online, called EVERY location and the girls woodfield mall were the only Akira store that picked up and helped me find what I needed! I went in planning to only buy one thing and came out with 7, all with the help of these 2 amazing girls! Going on my 1st trip to Jamaica in a few days... was very excited to find fun unique clothes to wear while looking online. I'm just getting over a bag summer cold though so I went in & bought over $200 worth of pretty skirts, tops, and bodysuits. I had a headache & body aches so I tried some stuff on but it literally made me exhausted. I picked out some items I had screen shotted & some I saw in the store. I figured I'd return what didn't fit right or I decided against. Well you CANNOT RETURN ANYTHING only exchange or store credit. Would never have expected that & the cashier should say that before checking you out.. a simple, "do you know our stores return policy?" Their employees are so nice, friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. They can literally explain each of every of their items to all of their customers. They will really make you feel welcomed. Worst akira I've ever been to. I've been a faithful shopper to akira for over 6 years. I go to this once rarely, only because it is close to my house. Selection of clothes is very small. Also, the staff at this store is the worst. I know they work on commission, but no one ever even says hi to me when I am there. I'm not asking you to shove clothes down my throat but every customer should be greeted! Even on slow days when there is no one there all the stylists just talk to each other and ignore customers. Definitely worth making the way to the city over going to this location ever! Also talked to other akira stores about the customer service problem, seems to be pretty well known. Went into the store today not one person said hi to me and got ugly looks from the two girls at the front of the register I had at least 6 different dresses in my hand when finally a nice lady offered to put them a dressing room for me. She even helped bring in a few dresses I might like. As I'm trying on my dresses a woman comes up to my dressing room saying "hi Jessica how are things going?" My name isn't Jessica so I assumed she was talking to another customer next to me after no one answered she grunts and says "uhm okay wow way to be rude".... I think this is the theme for majority of this chain stores. Bad customer service, cheap clothing, costume jewelry, cheap shoes with the option to purchase higher end shoes such as hunter boots. Customer service at this store is poor. Employees stand around talking to one another instead of assisting customers. I should have known what kind of store I was walking into because they were blasting Lil Wayne and all current rap songs. When I asked for a certain shoe size it was like I asked for too much. I'm giving two stars because they did have a nice Maxi skirt I really liked but they were asking $55. I wouldn't dare spend that much on an item in this store. read more

I had an extremely important meeting to go to and I spill coffee all over myself and needed to go to the mall and pick something up quickly! The girls saw my fresh coffee spillage and put me in a dressing room and asked for my size and what type of meeting.. they came back with full outfits that were perfect! I absolutely love Akira! Kenzie helped me out so much for my daughters homecoming dress. She made my shopping so easy with my 5 month old. Kenzie's attitude, professionals and sweetness was beyond perfect! We were there for a good while and I felt like I was right at home. My daughter had so many dresses to chose from and we walked out with one but had to go back and get the other dress she originally liked. So because I had to go back I called to make sure the dress was still there. When I walked in Kenzie was right there waiting for us and got my daughter all taken care of. Most of all her manager Sol was the sweetest! On our next occasion we will definitely be back and ask for Kenzie's extraordinary assistance. On April 8th, my birthday, I was frantically looking for the perfect outfit for my birthday party that evening. I searched every store in the mall. I walked into Akira and I was greeted by Molly. I explained to Molly how I literally have two hours before my birthday party and couldn't find anything. Not only did Molly calm me down, she found the perfect dress (a classy dress that accentuates my figure) and the cutest blazer to go with it. She made my birthday. Thank you so much again Molly!! Clothes are everywhere from great material to cheap material and so expensive to Deb cheap. I was uncomfortable from the minute I walked in when 2 different floor salesman followed me around asking what I was shopping for and what my plans were for the weekend. LEAVE ME alone when I'm shopping. They should have just pushed me out the door the way they stalked me. I also did purchase a dress from there and it was Akira brand...... I use to love this store. it was the only place I would get my clothes, I don't know if they changed management but I went in there on a Saturday not too busy and it was a while before someone approached me to get a fitting room. The top reason why I use to love this store was for their customer service, they would suggest outfits to try and I would end up buying a clothes I would not have tried on, however on Saturday it was not the case. no one came to check on me in the fitting room, offer different sizes or new outfits. I went to the check out with three people behind the counter, I was the only person in line and the three employees were too busy talking to each other to acknowledge me. I said excuse me about 5 timed before one of them looks at me directly and I asked if she could hold the dress, she quickly told me they don't hold items. I then asked if she knew where the outfit went, and she said she can put it back, so I clarified I asked so I can then come back and get it. she grabs it out of my hand and puts it back on the rack, and that was that. I decided to not buy the dress simply because the customer service was HORRIBLE. I use to adore this location, left many good reviews, but until your employees are more professional I will spend my money else where. read more

This past weekend I decided to go to homecoming very last minute. I went to Akira Friday night, told one of the girls homecoming was tomorrow and BAM first dress she picked out and I tried on was the one I chose. I didn't plan on spending $100 but it was completely worth it and I Got so many compliments on my beautiful sequined dress ( = I can not wait for the next occasion I get to wear it again. They had the most beautiful clutches and jewelry as well, but didn't end up buying them there because it most likely would've ended up to be another $100. I absolutely love this store because they have the most flattering, high quality dresses and the employees do not make you feel uncomfortable no matter what size you are. I had been shopping everywhere for a dress that was meant for a very special dinner, but I kept coming up short! That is until I went to Akira in Woodfield Mall. There I was introduced to a wonderful stylist named Tiffany. Right away she made me feel comfortable and confident that we would find the right dress for me! She was very intuitive and chose some dresses that I never would have chosen, yet looked incredible on me! Tiffany has a true talent, not only with fashion, but also with people! She was friendly and patient...I never felt rushed! I truly felt cared for! And in the end, I found my perfect dress, plus a second one, in addition to all of the accessories I needed!
