Apparently as a part of my landscaping project I need to have my rain gutters examined, updated/upgraded. Back to the Yelp drawing board. Akamai Rain Gutters had done work on my house previously when the roof blew off in the wind storm over Super Bowl weekend 2012. They'd been recommended by David's Custom Roofing. Since they still had good Yelp reviews I tried them first. I called on a Friday morning and left a voicemail ... no response. Okay, maybe they're really busy on Friday's and don't work weekends. I called again on Monday morning and left another voicemail ... no response. Only because I'd worked with them before and knew their work to be quality I gave it one last try. This time I called on a Thursday afternoon. Yet again I got the answering machine. This time I didn't bother leaving a message. This was disappointing. I'm going up one more star. After I'd given up hope I got a call from Akamai about my project. The reason for the delays was extreme business and poor cell phone connections in The Wahiawa area their current jobs were located Met with their estimator, who was very nice. We did the walk around and less than a week later, I got an estimate in the mail. read more

We just had our roof re-done by David's Roofing, and since we obviously needed gutter replacement as well, we asked David's to take the point and luckily they didn't disappoint - as they subcontracted the gutter replacement with Akamai Raingutters. Once we signed the contract, the gutters were up in a matter of a couple of days. The folks at Akamai were extremely efficient and pleasant to deal with. And the quality of work was fantastic. Price? To be honest, we believe that we might have been able to get it cheaper, but we like to keep things simple, so going with the recommendation was by far the easiest route. Hopefully, we won't need gutters again in the near future, but if a friend asks, my suggestion would be Akamai. read more

This review is over due. We purchased a house that didn't have gutters and noticed that one of our doors was warping. My uncle recommended Akamai to us towards the end of last year (2019) and I contacted Sheri. She was great to work with and they got the job done fast. We weren't home on the day they did the work, but everything came out great. Great Service! Family business. Sherri called back to schedule an appointment for an estimate. In this case our rain gutters were sagging after a big rain. When Sean came out he saved me big money. He gave his recommendations for a quick fix. He even gave me a bunch of stainless steel screws to reattach the gutters. It's working now...not sagging anymore! I contacted Akamai Raingutters about a year before the installation date. Sheri and Sean always returned my emails and phone calls, and stuck to their initial estimate from looking at my house plans (actual dimensions were a little more than what was planned). I am glad that Sheri recommended using a rain chain rather than the traditional downspout. The rain chain is much more pleasant to look at and not a lot of homes in my area have this. I originally purchased the wrong rain chain adapter, but Akamai Raingutters came back a second time at no additional charge to install the adapter. I highly recommend Akamai Raingutters! We just finished remodeling our home and we needed new gutters. I called and got a quote in the mail. Sean came last week to do a walk through as i requested after Sheri sent me an estimate. Customer service is excellent! They have been busy, but Sheri called me to let me know they had a cancelation so they came first thing this morning. Excellent customer service! Akamai installed our gutters about 2 years ago and with the heavy rains the day after Christmas, a section had come down. When Sean came by after I contacted them, he said that he would take care of everything as they stand by their work and would make sure the other sections were secure. They are quite busy, but made a point to come by a few days later to do the repairs. Both Sheri and Sean, are very pleasant and easy to work with. Great locally owned business! Spoke with Sheri during our remodel for a timeline and Sean came out to do the estimate. I kept them in the loop throughout our project (1-2 months) and they walked me through the timing of the contractors, painters, etc. We couldn't be more pleased!! Very poor service I have a house in North Shore Hawaii. Just put a new roof on. This company was recommended by the company I bought the roof from. I have called three times. Calls not returned. Can not get an appointment for estimate. Would not recommend using this company given their response. Even if I had an estimate at this point I would not use them. The men who came to remove the gutters from the house I was renting arrived at 5:30pm on a Friday to start their work, my landlord/owner didn't even know they were coming. We arrived to our house in the pitch black to find them climbing over our roof and looking into our windows. When I told them they needed to leave because I have small children who needed to sleep and was never informed they were coming, the workers ignored me and kept working. My wife is actively nursing our newborn, AND THE WORKERS SAT ON OUR BALCONY IN THE DARK WATCHING MY WIFE NURSE OUR BABY IN MY BED!!! This is completely unprofessional and personally violating in so many levels! To make matters worse, because they couldn't see anything (besides my wife's breasts of course) they left debris and shards of metal all over my car, the balcony, and the ground around my house. I have small children and this is a DANGER to them too!! Completely unprofessional. read more
