We called Ajax Plumbing to fix a leaking heating pipe and Adam and his assistant Kevin efficiently took care of the issue. From the moment I initially explained the situation to Adam, he was able to clearly articulate what the cause was, find the issue, and tackle the problem. I could immediately tell he's very knowledgeable and experienced in his craft. Overall, the entire process was also quite smooth and convenient. Some places charge an exorbitant fee to just send someone out to provide an estimate. Adam on the other hand, is able to provide a free estimate through text so you know what to expect prior to scheduling an appointment. It took about 2 hours for them to fix the leak and they even cleaned up whatever debris was created from the job! If I ever have another heating issue in the future, I know who to call on. I highly recommend Ajax plumbing! read more

Very knowledgeable, quick response, answered all my questions, and fixed the issue right away. Great service.

I'd like to personally thank Adam Epstein, the Owner of AJAX Plumbing and Heating in Bayside, for sabotaging my heating system, which contributed to a basement flood and then price goughing repairs. After his visit, the expansion tank reputured and I had a five inch flood in my basement! The insurance adjuster sent over a boiler specialist to look over my heating system and hot water heater. We had a conversation about the recent AJAX plumbing services rendered that week. I showed him ALL the receipts from AJAX Plumbing. The specialist apologized for AJAX Plumbing's unethical pricing. Adam Epstein replaced a fairly new thermostat he changed in 10/2015, the expansion tank replacement and bleeding radiators of my two-family home. I paid Adam Epstein a total of $1,850 from Dec 26 through Jan 4th, 2018. Honestly, do not waste your time or money with this arrogant clown. Here's a text from Adam Epstein, when I reported "No heat to him"... ADAM: "I'm done there Mary get someone ekse. I can't do anything there as you don't want to upgrade and make repairs..good luck to toy" MARY: I JUST PAID YOU $1,850. SERIOUSLY?! read more

We called Adam and he responded promptly despite the New Year's Eve holiday. We thought we had a problem with the water tank but it ended up being a problem with the sewer/ drainage. He assessed the problem and didn't try to sell us services we did not need. He was polite and professional. read more

I had Ajax Plumbing & Heating install a water heater. They were on time, detailed and careful with the install. Everything is working fine. Nice to have hot water during a cold winter. I highly recommend them. read more

I needed a new water heater and Adam was at my house within an hour to assess the situation. He was honest about what I needed and what I didn't, which is rare these days. I truly appreciate his attention to detail and his thoughtfulness while in my home. He was efficient and cleaned up afterwards. I'll definitely be using this company again and will refer them to anyone who asks me for a plumber! Thank you, Adam! read more

Adam is highly professional and incredibly responsive. He got the job done for my mom in a timely, efficient (and competitively priced manner) - communicating with me throughout the process. No other plumber in the Flushing area was nearly as courteous, willing to work with a new client. I gladly recommend him. read more

After calling another plumber and being told it could take two hours or two weeks to fix my leak, Adam came and confidently gave me a ballpark estimate and came well within that amount. I will be calling Adam at Ajax again. read more

Adam is very reliable, trustworthy and his prices are reasonable. He won't rip you off. We had gone through a few issues and after being scammed by three so called plumbers- we ended up calling Adam. He fixed our issues during the first visit and showed us what was wrong with the boiler. He explained everything in detail and was very keen on teaching us and keeping us informed with everything he was doing. Gave us receipts and guarantees. We will definitely be calling him in the future. A big thank you to Adam and his team. read more

Last winter, my boiler wasn't be working properly and I called him and he really really quickly answered to my phone call. He checked out the boiler for less than 10 minutes and told me he was not able to fix it because it was old and modified..... and recommended me to install new boiler.... and finally he charged me $175 for nothing. That night, I called another boiler guy in town, he checked it out and finally made it running again and he charged me $125. read more

I just used Ajax plumbing for a conversation from oil to gas. I personally felt Adam really knows what's he's doing. From the beginning to end, the process was very professional. Everything was written in a detailed contract and I didn't have to pay any extra money when the job was done. I did have to pay for a new chimney liner and some repairs for the chimney. But that was because the previous owners of my house didn't maintenance it. The chimney job was a different company. It needed to be done so we have ventilation. I liked the people he choose for the side jobs as well. Everybody worked really fast and was in and out. As an result I would recommend him to anyone. I personally feel when someone is spending so much money to do a job, their worst fear is to get cheated. I took a chance with Adam and I'm happy I did. read more

Ok first off they called back quickly and set an appointment for 8am... he showed up 20min late but he did call.. that's the only reason for one star... Anyhoo I called ajax cause of the good reviews...and i needed a boiler cleaning and tune.. first thing he asks for is a roll of paper towels..ok np.. then he takes a few towels (dry) and pushes all the dust and dirt on the floor...usally boiler cleanup would involve a vacuum.which he didnt have....next he pulls the burner tubes wipe off the dust with another paper that I supplied.. put them back in adjusted the temp and handed me a bill.. for $175 Truth is I was astonished... every other time I've had this done they take the top off the boiler and brush the elements inside.. clean stack to the chiming check bottom of chimney...all being brush and vacuumed...then check the water relief valves etc.... this guy was there for 20mins from start to finish..and did none of that...and when I questioned him about the stuff he was supposed to do he said he never does that...even his helper was grinning ...so let's summarize 1 he used my paper towels 2 no spray of any kind 3 pushed all the dirt and dust on the floor 4 NO VACUUM 5 he dusted the burner tubes 6 no brushing and cleaning the elements 7 no cleaning of the stack... 8 and left all the dirt and dust on the floor 9 only cash or check for this service 10 I GOT SCREWED Beware ....Dont use this company read more

We needed to replace our 50 year old boiler and water heater. After getting a few quotes from other plumbers, we finally found Ajax Plumbing & Heating (Adam). After speaking with him and providing him with pictures of our current boiler and water heater, he sent over a quotation. Adam did a site visit to confirm the details, we agreed on the work to be done and date. Adam and his team removed our old equipment and installed the new equipment as promised without any issues. As a NYC Master Plumber with decades of experience, Adam is a professional and thoroughly answered any questions I had regarding the installation. read more

We called because one of our radiators was not generating any heat. They came first thing the following morning and promptly fixed our issue at a reasonable price. Ajax Plumbing recently completed an oil to gas conversion in our house as well as replacing all of the existing heating pipes. I can't recommend Adam and his company enough to family and friends. Everyone knows that you take the risk of recommending contractors to the family but Ajax completed work at My In-Laws and they were impressed with his work as well. They handled all aspects of the conversion and Adam even came to our home to meet the inspectors while we were away on vacation. They are trustworthy and extremely reliable. Do yourself a favor and give them a call for any plumbing and heating work you're planning. read more

Adam is very knowledgeable and responded to all my questions quickly. Quality service from a master plumber at a good price when I had to switch out my water heater. Thanks again! read more

In the fall of 2018, right when the weather changed from cool to cold my old boiler cracked, leaked, and I shut her down for good. I called Ajax and others for an estimate, and he wasn't the cheapest but I like knowledgeable people. He did the job in a day, to include delivery of new (very heavy) boiler, removing (even heavier) old boiler and cleaned up afterwards. Turned on the switch and voila, heat! So, when my hot water tank started to leak in 2019 almost the same day as my boiler in 2018, I called Ajax once again to give me an estimate for the job. Delivery of a new one, removal of the old tank, and he was done in four hours. Can I say, "voila, hot water"? I was more worried about my new stairway just build carrying these monsters from the basement. Like they rehearsed before coming to my house, not a scratch. That alone was worth the extra money. Many thanks Adam! read more

Had some plumbing work done in my home and some tools in my basement were stolen. I called them to let them know the situation the owner got nasty with me over the phone we exchanged words and now on my way to make a police report. I would not recommend these guys to anyone. read more

Adam was a lifesaver. It gets no better than this company. Adam got to the core of a leak other plumbers couldn't find. He also did a wonderful job replacing an old rusty broken boiler in my home. His work was OUTSTANDING! He was punctual, reasonably priced and got the work done quickly. He explained in detail what the issues were and how they were going to be corrected. He also sent before and after pictures. I highly recommend Ajax Plumbing & Heating. This man takes pride in his work which is extremely important. I can't say enough good things about him. Thank you so much, Adam, for a job well done! read more

Adam came right away, was knowledgeable, fast and professional. He came back the next day as well To do some additional work on the boiler we needed done. The heat was on within an hour and the system is working great. We will use Adam again! Highly recommended. read more

This is a followup to my review of gas boiler installed by AJAX earlier this year. On Thanksgiving day my dinner guests notice the house was getting colder. I checked the boiler and it intermittently was igniting but failing to turn on the burners. Since the AJAX boiler installation included a 3 year parts and labor contract I contacted Adam and left a voicemail message. He returned my call within an hour and suggested a few actions but to no success. Adam made an appointment to visit me the next morning. He called me at 630am stating he was on his way to supply store he found open on the day after Thanksgiving. By 730am Adam arrived and inspected the boiler. He determined the burner startup problem was caused by low gas pressure from utility company. I contacted Utility company and several hours later they dispatched a tech and confirmed gas pressure into house was too low. After increasing pressure the boiler kicked on and all was well. Several months earlier Adam and his assistant also performed a tune-up which was covered in the 3 year contract. Each visit Adam lived up to his word of providing professional, timely and quality service. read more

My family converted from oil to gas heating. After much research we decided to contact Adam. From the first call to the very end of the conversion, Adam has been honest and incredibly empathetic; He would reply promptly to any questions and finished the job in less than a week! Despite all the old equipment that needed moving, we had hot water in a day. His cost was by far the most fair from all the heating companies I contacted in Queens and NYC. He even saved us money by recommending some heating solutions for the winter. Our family now has Ajax as a go to trustworthy plumbing and heating company. Thank you Adam! read more

Adam Epstein and his Company are the best. My boiler was on its last legs and Ajax came highly recommended. He was courteous and professional. He came to install the boiler and is very knowledgeable from choosing the right boiler to installing it with accuracy and precision. Drop clothes were put down and his men were very polite and assisted in the installation and the cleanup. I would highly recommend Adam and his company. read more

My neighbor -- who is a tough grader of service providers -- recommended Ajax to me to help with a water pressure problem in our shower. I called Adam and he suggested checking the shower head before paying us a visit. That took care of the issue. So, without even coming to the house he fixed the problem for me, no charge. How's that for fantastic service! Adam was also super responsive. I couldn't recommend anyone more highly. read more

Adam did our conversion from oil to gas in the dead of winter. Our oil burner gave out end of December and we needed new everything plus running new gas lines from the front of the basement and have both DOB and ConEd sign off. After a few rounds of quotes and some ridiculous claims from larger and equally well rated plumbing companies from Angie's list, we decided to go with Adam. His price and timeline were very reasonable and he seem very familiar with the permitting and inspection process. Adam was able to make the switch quickly and efficiently with no mess; he tested my existing lines and fixed a few other things in our house. On the day of the switch, we were only without heat for 8 hours, in the middle of Jan. (Some of the other contractors told us to expect to be without heat for 2 months!) In the spring, ConEd decided to installed a new gas line for us and Adam was our guy to obtain permit, bring the line into the house, and retire the old line. Now we have a brand new line and system and are very happy we found Adam. read more

Prompt, friendly and professional service! Called today at 3 pm and my shower was fixed by 8:00! Hard working employees. Thank you!

Adam made the oil to gas conversion in my house painless. I was told by others that the process would be a nightmare and that it would go thousands over the contract price. Well I don't know if it was a scare tactic or they just hired some bad people but I can tell you that didn't happen with Ajax plumbing. Everything was detailed in the contract and completed as stated and agreed upon . Adam is a master plumber and took care of all of the filing requirements, permits with NYC and everything with the utility company. Total process took about 90 days from signing of the contract (there was no gas in the house) to removal of old equipment and oil tank. If you're considering this process my advice is to begin (contract signed)at least 90 days before you anticipate cold weather to kick in if you have no gas in the house at all. At the very least can't hurt to get a quote from Ajax. You'll see when you start asking questions about the process he knows the exact process and requirements to get it done. Oh and did I mention he's not only the salesman he's the one actually licensed and doing the work. When was the last time you experienced that? Me almost never. Thanks Adam and don't forget his helper Kevin. I'm pretty sure it's not a one man job all the time. read more
