Long story short, they did the repair quickly and free of charge even without verifying he bought them there. We were both happily surprised. I might not have written about this had I not see these techs( for lack of the precise word) interact with others here who were purchasing new glasses. One gentleman went out of his way to help the parents of a young boy get the right frames( indestructible I guess?) for an active lad, and even helped navigate the insurance aspects. I know it sounds really silly, but apparently is more common issue than I thought after talking with the eye doctor. They were able to fit me in same day. Front office staff was nice and quick.
