When it came time to choose frames the associate did not try to push me to the most expensive, instead she gave honest feedback on how the frames looked, which helped me choose. Apparently when they adjusted my glasses, it made the frame more fragile and more prone to breaking, so my frame snapped just a few days after they made the adjustment. Of course my frame was already out of warranty and I ended up having to get another pair. This frame alone costed me $350. Also when I asked for a copy of my contact lenses prescription, they refused to give it to me. Yes I know it's been 2 years since the eye exam but it is my right to have the prescription for myself just for references. They were afraid I might try to get contact lenses elsewhere for cheaper price, therefore refused to give me a copy. Again, it is my right to have a copy whether it's expired or not. Really good service all the way through. You never have to wait long. Dr. Newheiser is really good at finding the prescription that fits you best. He also was able to diagnose a glaucoma issue my grandma had had for years, but her prior eye doctor never caught it. Dr. Newheiser found it right away. They were also so patient and helpful teaching me how to put contacts in and out when I first ordered them ten years ago. Great selection of glasses as well. This is review for getting glasses only. Horrible experience. Took month and half to get my glasses. Had to call them numerous times to get updates. Not ONCE did they contact first to update. Worst service in any eyeglasses firm ever gotten. Mid October went in. Received thanksgiving. Had lame excuses about COVID when that didn't work said I had high prescription etc. The excuses kept coming. The only thing that wasn't coming was my glasses. Stay far far away from. Dr. Neiheiser has been my optometrist for 25 years, and I was always completely satisfied with his knowledge, and professionalism as well as the professionalism and expertise of his staff. However, following complications from eye surgery (by an ophthalmologist), I was totally amazed at Dr. Neiheiser's level of knowledge; he, NOT the ophthalmologists, discovered the reason for my visual problem and a way to help. What I found was a rude receptionist who just didn't want to let me get my contact lenses. I haven't needed glasses except for the last 5ish years. When I first got glasses I went to the places in the mall because I was having trouble finding doctor offices that worked with my schedule. Now that I've found Allied Vision I couldn't be happier. On top of workable hours, the staff is very friendly and knowledgable. I see Dr. Hwang and I like her a lot. I have had some problems with my prescription and had to get my frames readjusted. It is no one's fault, just the way that it is, which is why I prefer going to actual people instead of online. read more

This is my first review on Yelp and who better than Allied Vision Services at Plainsboro. The customer service has been 5 Star all the way. I visited their store thrice during December 2017 for an eye check up. All the time, they just blew me away with their hospitality and service. My doctor was Dr. Stephanie Hwang who was very thorough with her examination and procedures. She patiently responded to all my questions and helped me understand the technicalities and never showed a sign of rushing. Gail, who helped me select the glasses was very affectionate and friendly and didn't push me into buying what they wanted to sell,rather left it to my selection.She very patiently explained the insurance process and made sure that I get the best glasses for the best price. Then comes Barbara, who adjusts and fits the glasses for you. She was very personable and friendly. She is like a cherry on the top! She just went out of her way with her service, not just adjusting my new glasses but also fixed the old glasses that I was wearing.I had lost hopes on my favorite old expensive Tommy glasses, but she just turned it around. All of them at the store spend a lot of time with you without rushing on things. I would say, I have never experienced such customer handling at any store before. Customer Delight at it's best! I recently came here to get an eye exam and new glasses/contact prescriptions. Dr. Russo was very nice and thorough, and ordered me a trial pair of the contacts he prescribed when they didn't have my prescription in stock. I also ordered a new set of frames here, and the process was great-- very little hovering while I browsed their selection, and then very clear explanations of the cost of the various options for frames/lenses. I have not received the glasses yet, but so far a very pleasant experience! read more

This is the best optical store ever!! From the staff to the doctor...everyone is actually there to satisfy your eye care needs. The first time I thought the staff were sales people who we're doing their job and being super friendly. But for them to do it consistently over and over again is what you call customer service! The whole process from ordering frames, to picking the right lenses based upon my insurance, to adjusting the frames once they arrived, was very smooth. I would definitely recommend them. This is a wonderful "one stop shopping" for your eyes. They are so incredibly helpful and make you feel right at home. Dr. Hwang is new to us, but we absolutely love her. She is so friendly, patient and kind. In fact all the doctors are that way at Allied. The office staff includes Barbara who will adjust, fit and recommend glasses for you. She is SO personable and enjoyable to spend time with. The office staff (sorry I forget the names from last Saturday 24th), are wonderful. They couldn't do enough to make your experience awesome. Also, they have so much stuff in stock, we were able to leave with our daily contacts and the new glasses were ready in less than a week. Lastly, they will give you a "no insurance" discount. Feels like a homey, old fashioned Mom/Pop store, but in fact they are highly technical, skilled and completely up on the latest skills. Will never go anywhere else! read more

Try to avoid this clinic! The price is not transparent and they won't let you know how much you need to pay out of pocket till the bill arrives! I had an annual eye exam with them and I sent my insurance information to them before hand. They told me that my insurance would pay for $100 for this exam, which would cover the total expense. In that way, I should pay nothing out of the pocket. (I did ask about the total price, they refused to give me a number but just said it will be all covered by my insurance). However, when the bill arrived, it said that I need to pay for $45 out of my pocket. I called the clinic again and they said my insurance only covered partial expense and I need to pay for the balance. I think this is totally ridiculous! If I had known it cost more than $100, I would have gone to other places! Also, since I'm pregnant so I didn't do the dilated eye exam with eye drops. The doctor told me that I can have that part of exam later for free after the baby is born. They still charged me the full price for a comprehensive exam. Now I really doubt that they would give me the dilated eye exam for free later since the lady on the phone said they already gave me the comprehensive exam and dilated eye exam is not necessary. For these reasons, I strongly suggest my friends to see other clinics for their eye exams. There are many good ones in town and you deserve something better! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Russo for several decades. He is always extremely thorough, explains things well, friendly, etc. He is very knowledgeable. He spotted an irregularity in my wife's retina and took swift action that resulted in her being treated within days for a rare ocular melanoma, preserving her vision and possibly her life.
