Of course my frame was already out of warranty and I ended up having to get another pair. This frame alone costed me $350. Yes I know it's been 2 years since the eye exam but it is my right to have the prescription for myself just for references. They were afraid I might try to get contact lenses elsewhere for cheaper price, therefore refused to give me a copy. Again, it is my right to have a copy whether it's expired or not. After all, I paid for the services.

I was given fluoroquinolones (Cipro and Levaquin) IV. By day 3 I could not see. Everything was blurry. It did not go away. I decided to see Dr. Boname because she was nearby where I was hospitalized. I liked her immediately because she did not try to defend the medical system the way many practitioners do even when they've clearly erred. She said those kinds of fluoroquinolone antibiotics damage the retina. You'll need glasses now. Any time I have met with her or been cared for by her, I have felt that I'm being cared for by family that has a special interest in me. She doesn't just care about the two eyes in our face because she knows many serious conditions show up in the eyes first....diabetes, cardiovascular disease etc. She knows there are no fences in the body and the body is a whole system that works synergistically together. She takes into consideration genetics and their support, what I consider the "laser approach" to personalized medicine. I know I will get the best care from here which is why I have driven from Rhode Island to her office outside of Princeton, NJ for many years.

When I brought this up with Dr. Wong, he said he never made that statement and explained that almost all cataract patients need reading glasses. He said my previous Lasik surgery almost 30 years ago was the problem that I do not have a good vision after this surgery. I am extremely disappointed with my experience and the outcome of my surgery. Be aware that there seems to be a strong focus on performing and charging for a refraction/eyeglass prescription exam even when it is not needed. In addition, your actual eye issues may not be thoroughly evaluated. I went to this practice because I was experiencing an eye issue and needed a medical evaluation. I specifically explained that I did not need a new eyeglass prescription because I had already received one earlier this year and wanted my actual eye problem evaluated. Unfortunately, Dr. Ritterbusch did not really listen to my description of the issue, nor was any meaningful evaluation or diagnosis performed regarding the concern I came in for. Instead, the appointment mainly consisted of a routine eye exam and a new eyeglass prescription. I ended up having to pay for a completed unneeded glass prescription in addition to the medical exam copay. And my actual eye issue was never properly addressed. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this doctor or practice.

For $95, it's a pretty solid deal, especially knowing the quality is there. ANYWAY... I wasn't sure if they would be they let me know that they can't assume any of the risk if they happen to break and then put me on a waitlist. It was downhill from there. Finally she produced paper forms which I began to fill out. Each time I had a question, she became more irascible. I had one last question which I asked of another office person to avoid dealing with the nurse, and this miserable excuse for a public face of a business came over with her own interpretation of my question. After I chose a frame with the help of an employee, I asked if they could simply measure the prescription from my existing glasses and make the new lenses with the same prescription. She told me that was not possible and insisted I needed a new eye exam. Based on her advice, I scheduled the exam and paid $119 in cash. After the exam, the doctor told me that they actually could have measured the prescription from my current glasses since I was seeing well with them. That means the eye exam was unnecessary for what I wanted, and I paid $119 for nothing because I was given incorrect information by the employee. I spoke with the manager, who apologized and said he would speak with the employee, but I never heard back from him. I wasn't offered a refund or any compensation. I'm very disappointed with the lack of honesty and follow-up. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this LensCrafters location based on my experience.
