This place has absolutely no idea how to do gel nails. I decided to try it because it's right across from my dentist. Even though I noticed they had bad reviews, I don't like to judge without giving a place a chance. Huge mistake. I definitely do not recommend them. I paid $90 for gel polish, and within just four days, my nails broke and the polish completely peeled off. I will never come back. read more

I am from Cincinnati visiting my daughter and one of the high lights of my trips here is to come to this AJ to get a manicure /pedicure. It's a nice, small, clean location and I have gotten the best service. Today I just got a pedicure. Tina was my technician. Her service today was "super, super super perfect" . I recommend this salon and while there are other good technicians, Tina was great!! read more

Got some $$ from mom for my birthday and got a mani peti.. they took their time and did a great job. I decided to change up my nail polish with a French with color. She was meticulous about how it looked and did a few over that I saw no problem with, but I appreciate her taking such care. Best nails I have gotten done in a long time!! Thanks for making my birthday gift special. read more

What a bad experience! I came with my daughter and granddaughter and we wanted to be pampered and it literally was the worst experience we ever had. The chairs were very uncomfortable, the polish job looked awful and my granddaughter cried because they didn't put a starfish on her nail. Not ever coming back. read more

I honestly really liked this place, I just live too far away to come here anymore, and as much as I like them, I don't think they're worth the 40 min drive it would take me... that probably sounds pretty confusing, but this place is good for the price, but not outstanding. I've had good and mediocre services here as well as an excellent service that had me going back for as long as I lived near their salon. The customer service is ok, I wouldn't say good or bad, just neutral (meaning they aren't kind or rude). One thing I really liked about this place is they have punch cards for the amount of money you spend each time to eventually get ten dollars off... I'm kind of sad about that because I had gotten really close to getting the ten dollars off when I moved, but like I said, not worth a 40 min drive. I gave four stars instead of three because I have had an excellent service before here and I think the manager tries his best to keep the place good enough to bring people back. Hopefully that clears things up, lol. read more

I love this salon and my nail tech, LeeAnn. She is very meticulous, makes sure I am happy with the results and is accomadating when it comes to appointments. If I ruin a nail , I can call and she gets me in to repair it quickly. My nails have never looked better and I get a lot of compliments on them. Easy parking and reasonable rate. I strongly recommend AJ Nails read more

DOES NOT PRACTICE PROPER SANITATION AS REQUIRED BY FLORIDA STATE LAW. POOR ETHIC STANDARDS! DOES NOT USE AN E.P.A DISINFECTANT AS REQUIRED BY LAW. NONE OF THE INSTRUMENTS ARE STERILIZED. Take your business elsewhere. BUYER BEWARE! Dishonest staff. Terrible "technique". Technician laughed at me when I was dissatisfied with their quality of work. Take your business elsewhere. No discount or solution was offered. Unsterile technique was used in the foot tub and instruments (pulled out of a dirty bag that was not autoclaved. Technician pulled out a dirty towel from a bag on the floor for me to wipe my hands on. AND THEN WE PAID HIM $90.00!!!!!! And then I came home and took my $90.00 polish off and painted my own nails. read more

Great! We loved our pedicures. Cheerful staff made the experience pleasant. Looking forward to returning!

I've been coming here since moving to Sarasota 9 months ago! At first I would go to Jennifer who does an amazing job at acrylic nails and pedicures and then I started to go to Tony when I switched to dip powder on my natural nails to keep them short. Jennifer and Tony are very detail oriented and my nails always last 3-4 weeks without chipping or breaking off. The prices are reasonable and I can't recommend those two enough. It's worth the drive for me! I also really appreciate the fact that they don't play any kind of radio music. It's very relaxing and their tvs always display some cooking networks so it's pretty entertaining. read more

I have been coming to their salon for many many years. I've never had any problems with my manicures and pedicures Leanne, Kevin and staff all provide a great service. whether it's dip gel or regular polish they keep updated colors. Kevin does an awesome job with designs on the nail. read more

I used to have a good experience at this location, but went in this time and asked for a gel mani & gel Pedi. They needed to remove my existing gel and acrylics . They gave me a price and then changed it three -four times while I was sitting in the chair. They were laughing and talking to each other while performing the service and at the end of each laugh, it was a price change. I finally just asked them to use regular nail polish and forget the nails. I had no problem with the price, but the communication, constant change and rudeness. Do yourself a favor and go to Best Nails on Fruitville. They've got the best customer service around and it's a much happier environment. read more

Language barrier becomes your problem. Owner and his wife yelled at a customer next to because their tech didn't speak English. How dare they! It's only nail polish and there is no excuse to scream at a customer on a room full of people. I will never go there again read more

Worst pedicure I've ever had. Zero massage. Polish was a mess and literally left BLEEDING. This place was filthy too. First and last time.

This was the best salon experience I have ever had. I got here at a good time so there was no wait, and the salon was very clean. I went to A J Nails for pink/white Shellac on the day of my wedding. I was told they were using Shellac when actually they used another gel polish with Shellac. Unfortunately, the knock-off gel polish ruined my nails when it needed to be removed. The nail technician at a REPUTABLE place soaked them as you are supposed to and they are supposed to buff right off. No, they didn't. She spent quite awhile filing off the gel polish which made my nails quite thin and flimsy when they have always been very strong. A J Nails ruined the health of my nails by falsely advertising that they use Shellac. If this had not been my first time getting Shellac, maybe I would have noticed the bottles on the table were not all that brand. The take home message is - Do NOT go here if you want name brand Shellac. The gel polish they use is difficult to remove and will ruin your nails until they grow out. They are also overpriced compared to nail salons that actually use the Shellac brand. read more

Overpriced & awful! I came here for "Nexgen Nails," which apparently was bought by the current owner. The technicians may be wearing masks, but nothing else in this place is clean nor sanitary. I was rushed in and out and the entire experience was unprofessional and underwhelming. A nice, but completely incompetent man did my pedicure. My nails were cut, but not filed and are jagged. After the dreadful attempt at polishing my nails, I was rushed out of my chair (although there were many empty stations), and told to place my feet under the fan to dry. Then, after very little time had passed, I was told my nails were dry. A few hours later, I actually inspected my toes. Most of the polish was off, and there were spots on my nails that the polish never touched in the first place. Also, $28 for a basic pedicure is too much, but for an unacceptable one, it's disgusting! During this time, it would have been nice to see someone wiping chairs and nail tools with disinfectant, but nothing was attended to!!! read more

Love this place. Fast and friendly service. I never make an appointment but they always squeeze me in! I appreciate that!

Never going back. I had the worst manicure there that I've had anywhere and it's more expensive than the place I usually go. $30 for a terrible manicure is unacceptable. I usually pay no more than $20-25. read more

I went here 3 times. Got charged 3 different times for the exact thing everytime. An acrylic fill with gel nail polish. And quoted a different price over the phone when I call. When I said something the 3rd time. He didnt seem to care. Started to Debate with me and not try to keep me as a customer. 3rd time I sat in someone's seat and got a trim on my acrylic woman couldnt even shape my nails evenly or almond shape how I had them when I sat down. Another woman came over to fix the problem. Tons of nail salons around they should want to keep their customers wanting to come back! read more

Horrible place to go!!! Got my full set done (dip powder nails) and in a week they all came out. Went back and they wanted me to pay again regardless of the complaint. They even argued with me that's was my it was my fault for "washing my hands too much" and that I need to pay $50 over again to get my nails done. So I got up and walked out. Horrible customer service and they talked amongst themselves and made me feel like I was at fault and was trying to get a freebie. read more

Terrible experience, first time there and I was rushed to pick a color, I was getting a gel polish manicure and she did my nails in 10 minutes, she was very fast and did terrible job... didn't paint all the way down to the cuticle and didn't paint the whole nail there was spots she didn't even paint.... and then on top of all that like I said it was my first time there and I didn't know it was cash only tips so when I went to fill it out on the receipt and she goes "oh we only take cash tips but there's an ATM in winndixie next door" which I thought was extremely rude..... just overall terrible experience and I will never go back! read more

I have been coming to this nail salon for 10 years! I have moved out of town and back several times and this by far is the BEST nail salon I have gone too.
